Hey all,
before someone jumps down my throat about using the search function, I did use this but didnt manage to find a definitive answer.
I have a '94 180sx, and after recently taking the rocker cover off to get painted, the car is now blowing alot of white smoke or steam.
I have a catch can on the car which is meant to reduce the amount of blow by, but after turning the car over after not running it for several months, I noticed an unusual amount of white coming from the exhaust. After being advised that it is probs just crud being blown out after the intercooler was cleaned out (using carby cleaner), i thought nothing of it. The problem remained well after it was warm and still does it now.
When i inspected the motor, i could hear a bubblng/burbeling coming from the intake pipe where the pod filter is, so removed this pipe and there was a build up of oil in the induction. The engine oil level is fine, and does not seem to be loosing much (if any) but the coolant resevoir was empty, suggesting its somehow leaking or buring the coolant out of the exhaust??
if anyone could help me rule out the problems BEFORE paying hundred for the mechanic to do the same job someone here could.
thanks for any help i can get.
