For Sale M35 Turbo Suit Hi-Flow
HER_M35 replied to Griffin's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sold to me! I ended up paying $100 for it, not sure if that's good or bad but to me it's a great insurance policy to have hi-flowed and ready to go in when the original one packs it in. -
Hi all, I've picked up an AVC-R for a pretty good price and wasn't concerned about installing it until i looked at the pinouts for the M35, now i'm confused. From looking at the most recent map of the loom into ECU that Leon posted toward the end of the thread below, I'm not sure i can identify the correct wires to use. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/266854-m35-emanage-ultimate/page__hl__m35+ecu+pin+out__st__520 Before i spend any more time on this, has anyone done this install yet and can offer any pointers? The AVC wiring manual can be seen here; http://www.scribd.com/doc/19579396/Apexi-Installation-Instruction-Manual-AVCR-Wiring-Diagram I'm confident working on the Stagea and getting stuck into things but i think this is one you don't want to muff up! Thanks i advance, Jas

My understanding is that a thermostat that opens earlier will ensure the car takes longer to reach operating temperature, thereby running richer for longer. It's a bit of a trade off really, it would be better on long hot drives but if you do lots of short runs your fuel economy will most likely go out the window. I could be wrong, it's happened once before....

Fenix Radiators also have an eBay store but i called their retail store and mentioned the eBay listing just to see if they were the same company and they just did it for the eBay price, i didn't even ask for it cheaper!
-
No, no pics....... yet. I've still got the radiator hoses coming in the mail and will try and take some of the various points that needed to be modified then.

Job complete! Thanks again for the info guys, i ended up going with a radiator from Fenix Radiators and used the NIS1631A for $330 delivered the next day, great guys to deal with and would use them again for sure. For those looking to do the same, a few pointers when using a V35 radiator; This is slightly larger than stock, it's a little higher (only mm's) and wider and consequently the radiator support and the top and bottom needs to be trimmed on the passenger side only. Not hard, just a hit with a dremel and you're done Because it's wider than stock, the fan shroud needs to be trimmed to sit flush against the radiator again, just trim off the sides where this used to wrap around the stock radiator. The extra height means you need to trim the bottom off the two locking "mounting brackets" (it's what the G35 ,manual calls them!) so they can be locked down again (the two at the top that you twist to release the radiator). At the bottom of the radiator where the air con condenser slots into the radiator, there are two slots that need to be dremelled slightly larger, about 1-2mm. You may want to cable tie the bottom of the fan shroud to the radiator to keep it in place as the OEM radiator has two round holes to secure this and the replacement has two slots, again not a big deal. Also remember to scavenge the rubber mounts (top and bottom) from the old radiator and the two captive nuts at the top of the radiator, you'll need to reuse these. Bleeding the system was a straight forward process, follow the G35 procedure in the workshop manual and you really can't go wrong. Hope that helps others that want to attempt this job and if anyone has any questions fell free to ask away! Jas

Thanks guys, appreciate the input. I'll let you know how it goes, hoping to do it all this weekend. Jas

Hi Guys, I serviced our M35 yesterday and discovered the top tank on the radiator has started to leak around the crimp seal, i don't think the tank's split though and will take the opportunity to do an overhaul on the cooling system with summer coming up. My question is around the parts i'll need to do this; Radiator - I believe that a standard V35 radiator will fit with little to no modding required, can anyone confirm this? Thermostat - Again I've read the OEM VQ35 thermostat is the same and will run with this unless there's a better option. Hoses - Thought i'd do the hoses (radiator, heater, etc) at the same time but i can't find any listings for these, are they the same as a V35, Z33 or is something else compatible? Coolant - do we use the green or red coolant in our M35's? There's green in it from the compliance workshop at the moment but possibly because that's the cheapest, not the best!??! Any advice you guys can offer would be awesome, thanks in advance, Jas

Spotted a nice looking pearl white C34 (series 1 or 2???) with a rather large FMIC on Chambers Flat Road out side the Marsden Park Shops about 7:30 this morning. Nice ride mate, think I've seen you around the area a few times now....

Rubbing Or Noise That Sounds Like Rubbing
HER_M35 replied to Sidius's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
It's not the farting BOV issue is it? To me that noise can sound like it's coming from the rear at times..... -
+1 on the cutting compound and i wouldn't go near it with wet & dry either. I'd also use a light hand when using the cutting compound and just take your time.
-
It should be fine, although it will most likely strip the polish from the surface leaving you with a dull patch that you'll need to repolish. It's not different from a bit of petrol running down the side of the car when you're filling the tank - I hate it when it does that!
-
You could also try Mineral Turpentine on a rag and/or a very light polish as there will be a difference in the paintwork finish now where the badges have been...

Was quoted $200 plus delivery from Niswreck in South Australia about 18 months ago now. To be honest there's better things on the Stag i'd spend the cash on (and more ) Jas

+1 For Chris Rogers..... Pretty well anything to do with the electrical side of the M35's he is your man.

Unfortunately if she's had the KM's doctored in some way it's usually done before it hits the auction house and any log books it might have had mysteriously go missing. In this situation the papers will only show the false KM's from the auction. One of the hardest things to do when you're a car nut is to buy with your head and not your heart. This car may not be the righ one but there will be plenty more, don't rush it and you will enjoy the car for years to come. My 2c anyway, Jas

1St Time 100K Km Service Done
HER_M35 replied to bayslideblue's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
As with pretty well all Japanese imports it is fairly safe to assume the speedo has been doctored/cluster changed before making it to the auction house, whether we like to admit that to ourselves or not.... If your Stag didn't come with log books you can prove are for your vehicle or a certification of KM's (from the likes of www.jevic.co.jp, etc) then assume a windback. Be happy with the car you purchased, i doubt you purchased the car simply because it had "low KM's", you see some piles of crap with low km's and some absolute gems with high km's, it's more about how the car drives and feels than what the odo says in most cases. It's possibly a little naive to think that vehicles that are 10-15+ years old actually only have 20-30k km's on them. They're a strong car, keep lovin' her and she will keep looking after you. Slightly off topic, rant over now....Sorry! Awaiting flaming.... -
Very tidy Pearl White C34 (Seriers 1 or II?) sitting in he car park outside Browns Plains Bunnings Saturday afternoon about 12:30. Very tidy indeed, nice wheels too! Anyone from here? Jas

Spotted a red M35 on the roundabout at the Pacific Highway end of Beenleigh Redland Bay Road. There was a fair bit of damage to the front passenger door....... Expensive! Gave a wave but it was getting dark so not sure if you saw.... Belong to anyone on here?

There should only be one O2 senssor on the M35's. I did query that with Nissan also but they confirmed there was only one listed for the VQ25DET. I could be wrong but i think the 350Z has two. The original part number you quoted appears to be from the Touring Edition of the 350Z and also the M35 Stageas with the VQ30DD/XQ35DE engines. Perhaps the part is interchangeable and if i could get my copy of FAST going i could confirm 100% for you, fingers crossed! Can anyone else confirm this? Cheers, Jas Edited - Early morning spelling issues!

Hi Dunc, Assuming you have the VQ25DET engine the part number i was quoted by Nissan was 22690-AQ800. Just ordered one from Highway Nissan, Springwood, QLD. Cost $157.90 inc GST. These guys at Highway Nissan are pretty helpful with imports, recommend you give them a try if you're having trouble. Hope that helps mate.
