  1. hi all, after hearing about the dump pipes from Craig (Jetwreck) on saturday, i thought i'd check it out. all i can say is for $400 or so.... count me in. that should bring it up to 8. and a nice BUMP........ again. Thanks
  2. Hi all, its definately not in Snow Mode i would've noticed the lights on the dash. and besides its not as delayed as snow mode is. snow mode delivers power slowly and it gradually builds up. what was happening to me was a split second thing where the trasnmission would stall up and then grab suddenly. the cooler i'm using is an ebay item i found through one of the topics. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Large-Automatic-Tra...rts_Accessories and now to add more to the problem after checking the hoses for kinks and the connections, (everything was right and no leaks from around the clamps) i noticed that the transmission pan had fluid all around it. i put the car on a stand and got underneath and found that the gasket wasnt sealing properly (i didnt replace the gasket or undo the bolts) and all the bolts needed tightening. and scotty you were right, it was low on fluid as it was leaking out. after i tightened all the pan bolts i started the car up last night and left it to warm up so i can check the level and it was low. i topped it up and now it seems to be ok. i tried to drive it the same way i was driving when the problems were showing up but this morning was ok. now i just have to wait and see if the gasket is completely gone or will it keep for a few more thousand. or maybe i'll find a hoist and do it all again. thanks alot guys. i appreciate the help. Stefan
  3. with the slingshot thing, i'd say that its a sudden push of the pedal down to about halfway maybe a little more, the revs rise up to about 1500rpm and its a sudden grab. yes the radiator cooler is still plugged in. i have plugged the aftermarket cooler on the return line from the radiator. i'm about to go and check the lines to the aftermarket cooler and it would be safe to say that the Nulon Fluid is fine and the issues can be 1. aftermarket cooler is restrictive. 2. aftermarket cooler hoses arent flowing like they should. 3. my transmission i hope its not number 3. LoL if the lines look ok i'll plug the standard hose back in, which will complete disconnect the aftermarket cooler and see if that makes a difference. i appreciate your help with this mate and hopefully i can work this out soon and dont damage the transmission. Thanks again.
  4. Hi All, i did the transmission fluid change and flush on saturday using the Nulon 100% fluid mentioned above. i also installed an aftermarket Trans cooler that i found on ebay through one of the topics on here. everything went fine until i took it for a drive yesterday (sunday). i found that it sometimes (not all the time) has trouble taking off for a split second and it builds up the power and almost slingshots the car. i noticed this happened alot in Reverse and only sometimes in Drive, but yet again 90% of the time from a standing start. the only time i noticed this on the roll was if i was in manual mode and in 3rd (only in 3rd) gear when coming to a roundabout or a giveway intersection, where a full stop was not required, and i started to accelerate there would be a half second lag before it had the slingshot effect described earlier. i will check the hose lines to and from the cooler when i get home just to make sure there are no kinks and everything is ok and i might connect the standard cooler hose and see if that helps. if that doesnt help it has to be the Nulon Fluid which means that i'll have to go genuine Matic J. im hoping that its not the transmission. if anyone has been down this road? can you please let me know what it is and the best way to sort it out. Thanks in advance. Stefan
  5. Hi Matty, I knew I should've documented this when I did it. I had a quick look at the c34 procedure and it was a little different. The problem I had was that I couldn't get the cv out from the block but it all worked out in the end. I did the normal process to release the outer cv side and then as the boot was torn the cv simply slid out from the inner so I cleaned all the old grease and the piece of the boot that was left on that side. Cleaned up the boot that was left on the inner side and it was ready for the new boot. I just went to my local parts store, asked for a 2001 M35 and asked if V35 or 350Z front inner right boot would be the same. The boot that I got from them was a V35 Front right stretch type (from what I hear all the new ones are stretch). This makes it easier to fit them over the bearing assembly, so there's no need to remove the bearings. As for the bigger side of the boot, you could cut to the size you need as it was marked on the boot (by cutting off a section from the end) Put the new boot on by stretching it over the bearing assembly and clamp the small side with the clips provided, pack the inner bearing hole with grease (also provided) and some grease in the new boot. Slide the CV bearings back in and this is the part I had the biggest problem with as it gets a little tight to do up the bigger clamp. Hopefully that explains it enough. I don't have must experience in writing up my processes so I might have missed something. Let me know if something is not clear and I'll do my best to explain. Thanks
  6. hi All i noticed the same thing on my M35 rs four a few months back. so i got my brother to step on the accelerator and it open up both valves. i'd say its nothing to worry about. Cheers
  7. hi all, my '01 Stagea used to do it also, it would do it at about 3500rpm, 1st, 2nd and sometimes third but only if i eased up to half throttle, if i kept it flat it would only happend in 3rd most of the time. what worked for me was swapping the factory BOV with an aftermarket (turbosmart) BOV i got from a mate from his R33. just to test it, i did swap it back to factory a couple of weeks later and it started making the noise again. so now i'm driving around with a turbosmart BOV. hope its the same noise, on mine the noise was coming from the drivers side and sometimes i could feel the vibration in the gas pedal. hope your problem is as easy as mine was. Stefan
