Guys, did anyone of you take up a mechanical warranty for your car? If you do, which company do you go to and how much is the cost? You reckon owners of a v35 here in NZ should take up one? Advice most appreciated! Manay thanks in advance!

Thanks Blade! Do update me how good is the bandwidth expander once u got it installed plz... Thanks in advance! I'll probably be asking the dealer to do the installation for me b4 handing me the car. Anyway, does EDL do installation? The car i m getting has only done 35k km but seems like a lot of ppl here are saying it's best to do a full service when I get the car regardless. I know we need Nissan transmission fluid based on the threads here so was thinking of sending it to Nissan to get it sorted. Not too sure with only 35k km on the clock, I'll need to change the fluid or not. Any idea anyone? Btw, really great to c some NZ owners here as it's always good to share experience wif ppl closer to home as well to know more on the services we can get here for our cars! Is there any V35 coupe owners here fr NZ in this forum? Cheers!

Thanks Spong for the update on the bandwidth expander. My car is a S2 model so hopefully it'll be much easier to install. Do you mean I'll need 2 bandwidth expander for it to work? Blade NZ, looking forward to hearing your experience with City Nissan. Also, what's the usual service cost they are charging? I asked TMG Newmarket today and they are suppose to be Nissan experts? Their service cost seems to start from $285 up, so not sure that's a high or low price. What's everyone's experience? Guys, are you Stags the 3.5 version or 2.5? Thanks!

Thanks Spong! Anyway, fellow kiwis, (apart from Blade NZ and Ant whom I have already asked), where do you bring ur v35 / m35 for servicing? Is there any Nissan specialist here in Auckland? Thanks guys!
-
Gotta say, AWESOME LOOKING CAR!! May i know how much you got it for? Thanks!

Hey guys... I note many of stagea owners in NZ. What common parts does the Stagea shares with the v35? Thanks!

Glad to see so many more proud NZ owners of the great car! My car is coming in 3 weeks time! Counting down the days and is super excited! Mine is a S2 version of the car (non-premium) so I wont have the Bose system to worry about for the bandwidth expander. I do plan to get the dealer helping me to import the car to get the bandwidth expander done as part of the deal but just need to check n make sure he gets someone good 2 do it. The car is suppose to come with a first service and grooming. Contemplating to negotiate with the dealer to have the service done by Nissan. I guessing I'll need to top up some money though for him to agree!

Anymore proud v35 owners from NZ here? I am quite sure there's more skylines in Auckland! Cheers!

Newbie Confused About V35 Models And Resale
win4ever replied to Jaytee77's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Anywhere in Malaysia will be filled with Proton and Perodua due to the crazy taxes they put on imported brand of cars! Imagine, for the price of a v35, u can probably only get a crappy hatchback perodua there! -

rs73, are you from Malaysia or in Malaysia? -
Hey Ant, thanks for the response again! Yeah, I did try the Gull 98 once but was abit sceptical with the ethanol blend in there. Anyway, I don't think I'll be brave enough to do a DIY for the bandwidth expander tbh. Will probably get the dealer to get someone 2 do it. Although I'll probably make sure that who he got has experience and can do a decent job! I read quite a few posts around here with regards to cruise control and seems like Chris is the man to do the job. I guess it's just hard to get this done for ppl like us here across the Tasman.....

Thanks for the update both Ant and Blade NZ! Good to know a few kiwis around here! Well, my v35 is expected to be here in a few weeks' time and I am thinking of doing a bandwidth extension for the stereo as well as possibly going for a service (depending on how well the dealer I am dealing with sort out the 1st service). Ant, have you got the bandwidth of you stereo extended? Wat about Blade NZ? Just want to know if it's an easy job or if there'll be any problem if a person not familiar with the car do it for me. Your inputs will be most appreciated! With regards to fuel, thanks for the update! I was planning to put in 98 as well. I usually go to Mobil though previously esp when they have that 8c discount if you get a car wash as I usually get my car washed there as well. Also, have any of you tried the 98 from Gull? It's supposed to be some bio fuel. Not too sure how well it is for the car coz it says there that not all cars can use it!

Extending The Bandwidth Of The Radio

Hi Chris, what do you mean lower dash comes out? Is it going to be hard reattaching it? Do you reckon this as an easy job? Thanks! -
Hi Ant! Nice to see that I am not alone here! Anyway, how is servicing quality in Takapuna? I did a search online as well and can't really find a Nissan specialist workshop out there apart from City Nissan. Did find quite a few wreckers who claims to be Nissan experts and can source parts from local and Japan. Not too sure bout the quality though. Also, may I know what fuel you put into the car? Everyone seems to be pumping RON98 over in Oz but as you know in NZ, we only really have Mobil and BP with 98. Oh, then there's Gull with their biofuel RON98 as well. Other ones have only RON95. I usually fill my current car (a Mazda 6) with V-power but is not too sure what is best for the v35. Hope to hear more from the other Kiwis here! Cheers!

In The Market For A V35 And Confused
win4ever replied to LatinR33's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Can any S2 owners update on the oil issue? Or is this more for the rev-up 2005 and newer version in the US? Thanks! -
Hi people! I am just wondering if there are any proud owners of the v35 from NZ in this forum? I've been searching for a similar NZ based forum for the v35 but can't seems to find any and hence, maybe there are some of you guys here! I do see quite a few v35 around in Auckland (not that many but quite a few) and is wondering where you guys bring the car for service or who you turn to when repairs / replacement parts are needed. Cheers!

Extending The Bandwidth Of The Radio
win4ever replied to win4ever's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks rs73! Just want to be 100% sure on this! I intend to get the dealer importing the car for me to do it b4 i get the car, but just want to be absolutely sure of this 1st in case there's a risk of something going wrong. There's no Chris Rogers / Andy, etc here in NZ that I can turn to at the moment. Anyway, does anyone here know any good reliable experts of the car in NZ particularly Auckland just in case if I need some help from him/her. Thanks! -
Hi all, I am currently residing in NZ. Alot of ppl with a car imported from japan will normally get their car stereo's radio bandwidth extended for local radio stations. I read in another post here that this is also done in Australia but seems like the quality of the reception is not too good. I got my previous 2 cars from Japan's (a Toyota and a Mazda 6 / Atenza) radio bandwidth extended and they seems to work pretty well esp when I am in Auckland although quality may get abit worse when I am in suburban areas. I am keen to get my S2 2004 v35's radio bandwidth extended as well (when it arrives in a few weeks' time) but is keen to find out more about the process:- 1) Is this a very complicated process for the v35 i.e. do I need a person who knows the car very well to do the bandwidth extension or risk affecting the entire radio and other electrical items in the car? 2) Has anyone here who has done the bandwidth extension had any problems subsequently with the car's electrical wirings and system after doing the extension due to bad workmanship / inexperience ppl doing the job? Anyone's help on this is most appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

That seems like good news for me then Chris (assuming mine IS a S2 which I am still uncertain).... Anyone has any updates with regards to the excessive oil burn issue? Seems like it's only an issue for the Rev-up infiniti's in the US, no? Thanks!
-
Here's the picture of the interior.... From the other posts, I think it looks like an S2. Anyone can help in giving some advice on whether are there any issues with an S2 compared to the S1? Someone was saying there's some fuel burning issue but that's for the rev-up engines in the Infiniti's in the US. Apart from this, it seems like people are saying the S2 has a nicer interior and some of the niggling electrical issues in the S1 has been sorted. Can anyone with a S2 confirm this? Thanks so much!

So Kam-80 is ur car a 350z or a v35? It's a 350z right? Thanks. -
Thanks g33k! So there was a minor facelift on the 2004 cars then? Then gear knob looks cooler!
-
Hi everyone. I have finally got my v35 coupe today! Won an auction in japan n the car will be with me in 4 to 6 wks time. Super excited. It's a 2004 model done 35k km. Anyway I noticed that the interior of the car looks slightly different than the usual 2003 model. I thought the 2003/04 model is the same? Mine seems to have a slightly different layout. Eg. I think mine has a md player rather than a cassette player. Also the hazard like button is next to the gear stick instead and air cond vents r also lower. May I know if there has been a slight facelift between the 03 and 04 model? It seems like this fits more of the description of an 05 model as I read somewhere they changed the cassette player to md player. Can anyone plz confirm this? Are the car with this interior any different to those of the usual 03 models? Thanks!

Well, mine is about 150cm long... so definitely shorter than a surfboard! So I guess it will fit! I am just thinking of whether a roof rack is possible in case i need to drive another friend along and can't lower the back seat. Anyone has such experience?
