I am not too sure as well. The car is stuck at compliance and I can't really go see it for myself so just listening to the import agent's comments. He believe that the tyres will fit. They managed to get compliance to release the car but not with the registration forms so will need the tyres replaced before I can get the car registered. I am not too comfortable with widening the rear tyre by 30mm really as I am not too sure what it will do. Just worried that the tyres will scratch the body everytime I go pass a bump! At this point I am thinking of going with just the same tyres both front and back. Anyone else who is using the same size tyres for both front and back? Does this affect the car's performance? I am not going to use the car on the track so it's more a day to day drive most of the time with the odd time when I just want to push the car abit more. Please advise and thanks for the help!

Hi everyone, I have just recently imported a v36 coupe type SP and the car is finally here in Auckland. It has just gone through compliance but unfortunately, they have failed the tyres saying that while the thread is good, there are some inner wear and crack. My import agent is now trying to find replacement tyres for the car but is struggling to find a set of 225/45/19 for the front. As such, he is now suggesting me to go to a slightly wider tyres. Basically he is suggesting this:- Front - 245/40/19 Rear - 275/35/19 I read in a separate post that it is also ok to put same size tyre at the front and back. Have anyone tried the above tyre size or used the same size tyre front and back? Please advise! Thanks!

https://touch.trademe.co.nz/listing/view/574605032 Hi... Saw this in Trademe here in NZ. Not sure if it's what you are after. Cheers. -
Fellow kiwis..... just making a post to keep the thread alive and give an update on things. Have been discussing with Russell on our cars and the fact that there is a near new V36 coupe on sale currently on trademe with a $1 reserve!! Up to $26k now with another 2.5 days to go so will be keen to see what price that car ends at! Only done 7,700km and looks awesome (apart from the wood trim finish inside the car which I don't fancy ) Just wondering if the current owner of the car is in this forum..... Do hope that this thread will continue to have people posting on to discuss on our cars!! Seeing more n more V36 owners now on the road although I still haven't seen a coupe yet in Auckland except for one in a car yard! Any v36 coupe owners, please stand up!! =)

V36 English Dash Cluster Conversion

Gnome73, you will need to PM Chris on this to get costings..... -
Hi Russell, Welcome to the Skyline NZ family! Got mine through carwebs. OK experience but felt that my previous agent offered better service in terms of response time and keeping me in the loop on things at his own initiatives. I would have stick with him if he is still in the business but sadly he ran into some trouble and went out of business. Yes, my car is a v36 Coupe. Mine is a type SP and from my research, I think a type SP will have an auto / electronic seat release which automatically comes forward when you fold the seat. From memories, I think Type P has this feature as well but Type S and the base model do not have the this feature. Instead there will be a button for you to push to get the seat to move forward. However, this is still not a manual release but an electronic one. I am not 100% sure so perhaps ask those already having a v36 in the forum if you want to be 100% certain. I actually quite like the auto seat feature. Makes the car looks much classier. Although I do agree with you that getting into the back seat during rainy days can be a problem. I don't really have too much of an issue with this as my back seat hardly gets used (no kids yet). Anyway, do share some photos of your car here if you can! When's your car arriving?
-
Thanks for the update on where you got the car Sonny..... anyway, I believe I have managed to secure a V36 coupe! Agent emailed me on Saturday morning saying I managed to get a car within my budget from the Friday's auction and is now waiting for them to invoice final amount in. I think I got a bit lucky.... I was always thinking I will probably end up with just a type S given my budget but finally managed to secure a type SP with a sunroof as a bonus!!! Mileage is slightly higher than what I would have hoped for but I will still consider it as a good low mileage car! So looking forward to the day when the car finally arrives in Auckland.... right now, I guess looking at photos and watching youtube clips about the v36 will need to do..... Anyway Sonny, sorry, not much idea on the suspension and coilovers for the pnm35..... perhaps other Stagea owners will be able to help.....

Hey Stuart.... yes.... I love the v35 and it is a bit sad to let it go....I was trying to convince my wife to sell her car and keep the v35 but she prefer a smaller car (she's driving a Mazda 3 at the moment). The v36's review looked awesome and seems to be a great improvement to the v35 in terms of the features as well as drivability. It still seems to cost quite a bit over in Australia but in NZ, but importing it myself, the cost seems much more affordable! The Nav DVD you gave me is still in the car! I am still having a little dilemma on whether I should aim for a v36 without the Nav system or with it as Chris Rodgers pointed out that it's probably easier get a working Nav system in if the car comes without the in-built nav system. But then, with the in-built Nav system, you get the 9GB of HDD space for music as well as bluetooth connectivity which seems like a pretty good trade-off as I don't really need the sat nav. Guess I will just see what comes up at the auction. If a great condition car comes up, and it has a sat nav built in, I will probably go for it and vice versa. How's your V35 Stuart? Still going strong? Anyway, welcome to the forum Sonny! Great to see more n more Kiwis joining and hopefully we with more of us, we can share more NZ-related information. Anyone has any info on import agents in NZ? I found 3 so far which is pretty good to deal with so just deciding on who to go for once I find a car that I like.

Specs And Features For V36
win4ever replied to win4ever's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks Al! Hmmmm..... sounds like the Sat Nav will have quite a bit of other use as I would love to have 9gb of HDD to store my music although the ipod integration might solve that problem anyway but I do recall reading somewhere on the forum saying it's probably best not to have the sat nav for some other reason..... -
Specs And Features For V36
win4ever replied to win4ever's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hi people, another quick questions on the v36. Does the car comes standard with the on-board hard disk, SD card slot, ipod integration and bluetooth? I was looking on a review of the G37 on cnet and it was saying that the hard disk and SD slot comes with the sat nav system. Is that true for the v36? Is the features standard for each variant of the car? Please advise! Thanks! -
Hi everyone! I have been away from this forum for ages as work and other commitments has taken quite a bit of my usual days' time! I am glad there are so many Kiwis now keeping this thread alive and is even happier seeing so many proud Nissan Skyline / Stagea owners here! It's been almost 3 years since I first own my V35 coupe and I have to say that I am still loving it. It's probably one of the best car I have owned myself and for that price range I paid for the car, I still struggle to find another car up that I will get instead of the v35 until today! However, it's probably coming to a time when the v36 is getting more affordable and I am now thinking of upgrading to a v36 coupe! I imported my v35 myself through an agent previously and although things can get a bit more troublesome and the 6 to 8 weeks of waiting time can be hard to pass, it is probably a way that I have to use due to my budget constraint. Have anyone imported a vehicle through some of those import agents before? I know Dave (Spong) has done a fair bit of importing himself so Dave, your advise will be invaluable! I have been doing some research and found some agents both locally and in Australia. I have created a post earlier but thought I might have better luck through this post to get some advise from those based in New Zealand. Any advise and feedback on your experience with the agents you have used will be most appreciated! As for the earlier questions on where to get your v35 or m35 serviced, I started off by sending them back to Nissan for my service. But recently I found the Mag and Turbo in Manukau close to where I work is pretty good! They seems to have a good understanding on the car and is willing to use better oil for the service while Nissan usually just sticks with their standard oil. Not too sure about Wellington but probably try to be in contact with Nissan and see if they can help. Isaac, what's your issue with your audio? There are pretty good posts in the forum about the sound system and sat nav. Chris Rodgers apparently is an expert in that! I know they were working on trying to get the sat nav to work and have got one working for the S1 but not too sure where they are at with the S2. Thanks!
-
Thanks Sean! I have sent an email to Iron Chef now so let's see what they says.... meanwhile I will just continue to work on researching the other agents on my list especially the local ones. Any Kiwis on the forum, do give me an update if you have dealt with any of the local agents before. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I am thinking of importing a v36 myself to New Zealand and has been looking around for import agents. My search has led me to a couple of local agents as well as 1 which seems pretty reputable in Australia called J-Spec Imports. I have been talking with J-Spec for a few weeks now and their response and communications seems top notch and it would appear to me that they seems to know their stuff giving me pretty good information on the v36 in terms of options and pricing to meet with my budget. I am just doing my "due dilligence" now on these agents and thought I will just ask if anyone has dealt with J-Spec and if anyone has any issues with them? The Auckland based agents that I am looking at currently are JCC Cars and Shore Vehicle Solutions. Both again looks pretty established and feedbacks from customers in their webpage looks good (which is why I guess they are there in the first place). If there are any NZ based members here, will be good if you can update if you have had any dealings with them and what's your experience. Any feedbacks will be most appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

Specs And Features For V36
win4ever replied to win4ever's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks for the update Chris! Looks like it's going to be pretty hard finding a car with cruise control then! Normally what's the cost of the kit? Can I get the kit here in Auckland or can you send a set from Australia across and I get someone locally to fit it? Or do you have any contacts who can do this? Thanks! -

Specs And Features For V36
win4ever replied to win4ever's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hi! Thanks for this! I recall finding this before a while back when I was researching for my v35 and comparing it with the v36. For some reasons I must have missed it this round or could have been the key words I used. But thanks for the tip! Another question I have is does the car has the option for cruise control in all variant or it's more an after market add-on by Chris? Thanks! -
Hi everyone, I am a proud owner of a v35 coupe in New Zealand for the past 2.5 years and is now thinking of upgrading to a v36 coupe. I have been doing my research on the internet but is struggling to find the actual features and specs for the different type of v36. As such, I am just keen to get some help from everyone here on the following:- 1) Apart from leather seats, what are the additional features that you can get from a type P as compared to the base model? 2) With the type S, I know it doesn't have the leather seat but come with paddle shift and 19 inch wheels instead as compared to the type P. However, apart from this are there anything that the Type P has that the Type S doesn't? 3) How significant is the different between a Type S and Type SP? I understand that Type SP has leather seat and the Bose sound system. But apart from this, what's the different between the Type S and Type SP? 4) Does any of the variant comes with cruise control? From some website, it seems like it cruise control is an optional feature but the dealer I am looking at to help me do the import process tells me that the coupe doesn't come with cruise control. At the moment, I am pretty keen on a type SP but prices are a little steep and probably just over my budget. Hence, I am thinking of looking into the type P or type S as I am not really fuss about having full leather seat or just partial leather or having a Bose sound system. I do hope that I can have the paddle shift and cruise control options. I have tried looking in the forum for the detail breakdown of options and features for each variant but can't seems to have any luck finding too much details, hence the new post. I do apologise if there is already a post for this and would appreciate anyone's help in directing me to the appropriate post / website. Thanks in advance everyone! Cheers! Loh

Chad, will upload a photo this weekend. X - I will be paying my dealer a visit soon as he mentioned that he is keen to help me fix up the ticking sound due to the hubnut. Just that I've been so busy at work lately that I just can't get time to make a trip to the city during weekdays. Kinda hoping that he has the key with him actually.

Hey guys.... need some pointers here.... Just took my car to mag n turbo and another wheel shop today in Manukau to get them to find a lock key to get my wheels off. However, I was told that the lock nut that I have is a McGard lock nut and they don't sell the key by itself. Was told I basically need to get a new set of lock nuts in order for them to take the wheel out. Mag n Turbo is charging $75 to remove the current nuts and $45 for a set of normal nuts or I can opt to get a new set of McGard for $280 in total and they can take the current set out and replace it. The other shop was quoting me $20 to remove each wheel and around $100 for a set of new nuts. Anyone here knows any shop that I can get just the key by itself in Auckland? Help appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi all.... Just got City Nissan to do a service on the car and got them to check to ensure things are all ok... Overall it was a pleasant experience. Sent the car in at 9.15am and everything was done by 10.50am! Everything went well except that they can't fix the ticking sound coming from the rear right wheel as I don't have the lock nut to unscrew the aftermarket wheel nuts I have. They said the ticking sound is due to the slightly loose hubnut which just needs to be tighten so I guess I'll have to bring the car to a mag shop to sort it out. Apart from this, all went well. They did quite a thorough check on everything and in the end I just needed an oil and filter change as everything else is in good shape. Bill came up to slightly over $300. They gave me a 10% discount even though I don't have their preferred customer card (although I did applied for one online earlier but haven't receive the card). Only thing to note is the engine oil they use was 10W40. I note that some in the forum is saying the Nissan recommended is 7.5W30 but they seems to be using 10W40 which I think is consistent with what other says Nissan service centers will use. Other than this, nothing much to report basically. It's a good service but I'll probably only use them for major service going forward and the minor oil change services, i'll probably get them done in the workshop I usually send my previous car to get service mainly due to the price.

I was in Wairau Park today too at around 2.30pm! Didn't see any other v35 coupe or m35 though. Anyway, the v35 coupe is abit bumpier than a usual sedan, but still alright for me. After almost 3 months having it, I am still enjoying it as if it's the first day I got it! I am scheduling a service with City Nissan soon (sometime next week) so will update everyone on my experience with them.

Hmmmm.... it's been pretty quiet on the NZ front lately... how's everyone? Hopefully everyone is well. Anyway, saw a red v35 coupe in Slyvia Park today. DPA63. Are you here?

Hey Raween, Welcome on board. With regards to your questions:- 1) My car has that red blinking light and I also couldn't be sure if I have an immobiliser. But I got a guy who fixes alarm and reverse sensor to have a look while I was there installing my reverse sensor and he told me that there's an immobiliser in the car. Have a read at one thread about immobiliser and spare keys and hopefully it will help. As far as I know, someone suggested copying ur car key to a normal key and then try starting the car with ur original key far away. If it doesn't start, then u have a immobiliser. 2) Do you have a TV screen in the car? If you do, you should also have a DVD drive above ur glove compartment that is used to read the sat nav DVD. however, it's only for Japan so it's really of not much use. Cheers!

I did too Chris! Don't worry, your hardwork is definitely not waster! -
Hi guys.... saw a M35 (FMH 726) at Aero Parks (one of the open air airport parking) today. In fact, the owner was picking up the car together with me after returning from the airport. Wondering if he is someone in the forum? Also, drove side by side with another silver v35 coupe last Thursday in the morning near Pak n Save Manukau. Any chance that person is in this forum?
