Hmmmm.... everyone's been pretty quiet lately (including myself due to the insane workload I have at the office atm). How's everyone going? Anyway, saw a couple of v35 coupe on the weekend. A white one along Ti Rakau Drive on Sunday evening and another silver one on the motorway. It's perhaps the first 2 coupes I saw on the road since I got my car!

Nsw 2008 Skyline V36 Black
win4ever replied to Fantomsss's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
WOW.... such a nice car.... making me drool.... Anyway, do you mind explaning how you make the ETC lady to keep quiet? Not too sure if it's the same but mine's a S2 v35 coupe and I have a Panasonic brand ETC reader that is located below the steering wheel area. Thanks in advance for the help! Cheers! -
Hey X! Thanks for the update! Unfortunately, I can't make it on that weekend due to work commitment (company doing a major business IT system change that I'll need to be on call just in case the IT team needs details fr Finance). However, if there are more of such events, i'll probably be keen to try one! Cheers!

Ic.... Hmmmm.... an identical twin brother! Gotta say I hardly see any v35 coupe in this colour actually in Auckland.... so will be keen to meet that car. Will keep an eye out for it when i am over at the shore! Anyway, just back to the discounted fuel topic we discussed earlier, last Thursday, the Mobil at Smales Rd was selling RON98 at $1.76!!! RON91 was down to $1.61.... I just love that place.... now Thursday is my refueling day!
-
Hey Tim, any idea what colour is the car? Anyway, that's not me.... =) Hopefully he/she will join this forum though! =) With a number plate like that, he/she must definitely be a v35 fan!

Just thought i'll give an update on my reverse sensors... got them installed y'day and seems to be working quite well. The shop didn't really have a set that matches the car's color well, so had to get them sprayed. Just did that myself y'day. Seller advice to just spray one thin layer which is what I did. Now colour matches perfectly and luckily don't think there's any adverse effect on the sensitivity of the sensors! Will try to post some photos of the sensors later this week.

Hey guys.... drove out to the west this afternoon and for the first time, I actually spotted m35s on the road twice! Guess the car is getting more n more popular... Anyway, was at a takeaway place today and picked up a copy of the Auto-trader. Saw that there is a M35 up for sale in Speedy 5000 Panmure going for $10.5k! Says it has "good KMs". Car looks nice with a good set of 18" mags....

It's me saying that. Got an email reply from them saying PB2000N will be the one best suited for my v35. I think "N" is just indicating it's for Nissan.

Oem Dvd Player Not Working :( Help!
win4ever replied to Aeky's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Mind sharing what actually happened? THanks! -
Hi there! I am from NZ and had recently imported a S2 v35 coupe from Japan. Mine is actually a Nov 04, so it's a 2005 S2 model. Tbh, it's really pure luck that I got the car as it came up in the auction in which I was actually going to try to bid for a 03 model (with sun-roof). I had test drove a S1 model here only and had only seen pictures of the S2 interior (as most v35 coupe here in Auckland are S1s and I haven't really seen a S2 around). So when i had a option to choose a S1 (with sun-roof) and a S2, in the end I decided to go for the S2 model as I think interior wise, it's probably better looking than the S1 with the aluminium center console and nicer gear stick. In the end, I found out the S2 that I got ended up much cheaper than the S1 with sun-roof (which was actually sold above my budget). All in all, I think I am happy with my decision. When I got the car, I definitely felt that the interior looks better than the S1 with the facelift changes the car received. That being said, I am not saying the S1 interior is not nice. It looks good, but the S2 just looks better. Also, from the forum here, it seems that the S2 has a lot less electrical issues than the S1. I am really not too sure about the price difference in Oz, but based on the auction results, it would appear that the auction price for the 2 cars are fairly similar.
-
Yeah.... i m definitely not confident enough to do it myself so will spend $25 more to get the professional to do it! WIll keep u guys updated on the results once I've got it done probably sometime in Sep.

Hey guys... just rechecked my email. It's $85 incl. installation. The guy recommended me the PB2000 saying it's the best option for my car. So will probably install that. Cheers!
-
Hmmm.... if I recall correctly, that's what the guy quoted me. Will need to check my email to confirm again. Anyway, always a chance the price will go up a little once they see the car. My reverse sensor installation is cost little extra (compared to the trademe listed price) as well as the guy was saying it will take abit more time to install the sensors into my car. Anyway, i do remember when i got my dealer to do a bandwidth expander on my Mazda 6, it was costing me less than $50 but the quality of the expander was only ok at best. Always had problems tuning to Edge when I m in Manukau. Well, the bandwidth expander is next on my list of to do after the sensors (which can only be done now next Monday) so if I do bring it to Onehunga, I'll keep u guys posted on cost.
-
Hey X, the good one that I think Dave suggested in Onehunga is charging, if I recall correctly, $80 for the expander and installation.
-
Hey Mike... hope you are feeling much better now! Do keep us posted on the Anycar setup mate! As for me, I'll be sorting out my reverse sensor this week and then will plan to get the FM extender done later this month or next month (depending on work load). Take care mate!

That's a good one James! How nice if we get water powered car! Anyway, i think the idea of using liquid hydrogen to generate electricity for the Honda Clarity that Top Gear showed is probably the best possible outcome going forward and it will probably eventually happen as petroluem becomes less and less.... Getting out of topic now, but hey, looking at things, we do have quite a few ppl here using E10!
-
Thanks for the research James! Those articles are definitely a good read! Interesting enough, my car is Nov 04 but if you think about it, the engine n all is exactly the same as the 03 models.... and they are basically similar to the v35 sedans back in 01 rite? However, i guess best assurance is ppl have tried e10 n it works!

Where To Source Touch-up Paint?
win4ever replied to Urogue's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I have a S2 lake shore blue v35 coupe as well! I found a few dealers on ebay that ship worldwide. I am in NZ, n someone recommended me a car paint shop which you can give them the colour code and they can mix the colour up for you. I got mine from the shop in a spray can and sort out my touch-up job! I am sure there are similar shop in Oz. Might be worth doing a search online as it will be a much quicker way compared to getting one shipped from the US. -
Ticking Sound When Accelarating From A Stop
win4ever replied to win4ever's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey guys... I've just done a pre-purchase inspection today (after 3 weeks having the car as I can't sort out a time with my dealer to get this done with the AA). Turns out the tick sound is coming from the rear right brake. According to the inspector, it's due to a slightly loose clip on the brake pad which cause the tick sound. He said it's a minor issue and a easy quick fix so I'll probably get that sorted when I do my service or I was thinking I will perhaps discuss this with my dealer to see if he can sort it out quickly. -
Hi Tim! Welcome!!! I've been seeing more M35s too! And loads of v35 sedans! Unfortunately, I have only seen 1 v35 coupe since I got mine! Wonder where have they disappear too! I used to see at least a couple on the weekends that I was waiting for mine to arrive! Sure hope there are more v35 coupe owners coming here to chat and discuss about the car. Also, have anyone seen a v36 on NZ road yet? I've seen a couple of sedans before but never a coupe! Saw 1 on sale on trademe the other day! I think it was Ellis Utting....

Guys, may i know if the valet key has a transponder inside the key or not? Thanks!
-
Hmmm.... not too sure how the VQ35 will react to the e10.... anyway, been using Mobil and it's pretty good considering has that 8c discount if u go for a car wash and I get a 5c discount from my fuel card if I don't need a car wash. Just drove 2 trips to the city and back y'day and today + some city driving and I am averaging about 9.3km/litre (10.75L/100km) which is probably pretty good I supposed. Used to be doing around 7.9km/litre if I am just driving from home to work (Howick to Manukau) due to the stop go traffic esp in the morning.

Hey Dave! Haven't seen you in the forum for awhile! Yeah, I think I have read some negative stories about biofuel as well. I guess my earlier conclusion was "Better not risk it"! But seeing that with James having tried it and the results seems positive, I should perhaps give it a try too! Mine's a VQ35 though so not too sure if there'll be any difference, but they are basically similar year engines, so I suppose should be pretty similar in terms of their 'adaptability' to biofuel. Not too sure about this, but are biofuel supposed to be cheaper in Oz? Also, not too sure I understand how the biofuel will end up as 98 as well... as it's saying there's 10% ethanol... so wouldn't that made the balance of 90% to be normal fuel? Or are they using 900ml of RON98 fuel + 100ml of ethanol to make up 1 litre of biofuel?
