Hey Stuart, your call looks awesome with the rear spoiler! Great rims too! Anyway, i thought i'll post a photo of mine too! And it's also taken from an iPhone so quality is a little low too!
-
Hey Peter, sounds exactly like what you describe mate! And yes, the noise came around the 20km/h mark. Another of my worries solved by you excellent people here! Thanks man! Honestly, if you didn't tell me, it does sounds a little scary and hence quite worrying for me... so really appreciate the update! Chris, thanks for your update too! This may be a real dumb question but as someone who has limited knowledge on cars, where is the transmission fluid tank located? Is it the same as the power steering fluid tank? Thanks!

Hey guys... has anyone experienced this b4? It seems like since this afternoon, everytime when I start my car and engages it into 1st gear for the first time, after the car goes for awhile, there's this little cranking noise coming from the front. There's no power loss and no other issue in terms of performance and it never happens again after that until I off the car and restart it. I haven't tried switching off the engine and immediately restart so not sure if it only happens on a cold engine. Anyone has this issue before? My car comes with a complimentary pre-inspection report from the AA which will be done on Tuesday so I'll get the inspector to have a look and see if he can identify the issue as if there's something wrong, the dealer will need to sort it out. Really hope it's not a big issue as apart from this, the car is going real smoothly and I am really enjoying it everytime I drive it!

According to my dealer, the compliance guy does a first service on the car which is just oil change and filter change. So don't think they will change the power steering fluid especially as I note it's not really below the minimum level but it's close to the minimum level (just slightly above the min line). I've asked my dealer again n he assured me that they have done a first service.

Questions: Shift Lock And Console Cable
win4ever replied to Stuart McK's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Well, I think for me, mystery is solved as it's definitely something 2 do with the ETC card reader as if I press a button on the reader, the girl will repeat exactly what she said everytime I start the car. Shall try to get someone to remove that reader. -
Helped Needed With My New Ride....
win4ever replied to win4ever's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey Stuart and Brad, Thanks for the update! I've tried fiddling with the ETC card reader and it seems like the Jap girl will say the same thing (when I start the car) everytime I press a button on the card reader. So I suppose the message is just something about the card reader, perhaps reminding me that there is no card in there as I think I can roughly here the word "card" from what she said. As for the message on the TV screen, thanks for the clarification Brad! Most appreciated. Finally, Stuart, you are right. What I meant was when I press the eject button on the sat nav DVD drive (which is above the glove compartment), there is no DVD coming out. And my car is a November 04 make which is perhaps 1 month before yours. Somehow the ETC is located in a different place. Anyway, thanks guys for the help! Really appreciate it esp because the turnaround time since I post is so quick! Finally, I note that when I start driving the car everytime, i.e. when the car engage into first gear for the first time, there's a little cranking sound coming from the front. It just happens when it engages into first gear for the first time and never happens again. There is no effect in terms of performance and I don't recall hearing this when I got the car yesterday. But it seems to happening today. Anyone has the same issue? Perhaps I'll put this up as a new thread on the forum. Cheers! -
Hi guys.... I've just got my 2004/05 v35 yesterday and have some potential "issues" that I hope you guys can help me on. It appears that everytime I start my car, I noticed that my sat nav DVD drive will load and then there'll be a beep sound. I've tried ejecting the DVD by pressing the eject button. The DVD drive will load but there's no DVD coming out. I assume that my car doesn't come with the DVD. After the car runs for about 30 secs, the Japanese girl will talk to me about something (which I can't understand). Andy has mentioned that IF she talks 2 me, then there can be something potentially wrong. I've had a look at the sat nav screen and note that there's something written there per the pictures below. Has anyone seen the message before and does anyone knows what it means? I also note that under my steering wheel, there's a card reader of some sort which I am not too sure what it is as well. I've again attached a picture of the gadget here. Does anyone knows what it is? Anyone's help will be most appreciated. Please help! Thanks in advance everyone! Cheers!

Thanks Dave for the suggestion! I am contemplating getting the car serviced by City Nissan just in case as I note the power steering fluid is a little low as well and because the jap girl is trying to tell me something... to bad I have no japanese friends else I'll get them to translate! So it's something that is bugging me.... Anyway, i'll PM you some details soon.

Questions: Shift Lock And Console Cable
win4ever replied to Stuart McK's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Nope.... I don't think there's anything on the screen! The only thing I picked up so far is that I don't have the sat nav DVD in the drive. Could that be a reason? -
Questions: Shift Lock And Console Cable
win4ever replied to Stuart McK's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey Stuart, just picked my car up today. As I know yours is probably the closest identical "twin" to mine (as they are just manufactured 1 month apart from each other), I thought I'll check something with you. Does your car have this japanese girl that talks to you everytime you start the car? Mine will have her saying something after a while everytime I start the car (i think it's usually after I engage a gear). Just keen to know if this is normal. Also, i've PM you with regards to the sat nav DVD. Cheers! -
Hey guys... just picked up my v35 coupe today. The dealer who helped me import the car said he has done a first service on the car (basically just oil and filter change). However, I note that the power steering fluid is a little low (still above minimum) and is brown in colour. Is this normal? I am thinking of doing a top up myself now and get the fluid flush later when I send the car in for a service. You guys think this is a good idea? Also, is the colour of the fluid normal? Thanks. And a separate question. I am keen to do a dip stick check on the engine oil. Is it rather hard to pull the dip stick out and put it back in? I tried pulling it out but it's abit hard (although I didn't really dare to pull too hard). May sound silly, but can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

Hey guys, thought I'll give a bit more details on some features I note in the car after 1 day of driving it:- 1) I have a japanese girl talking to me after awhile everytime I start the car (usually when I put it into gear). Wondering what she's saying. Does anyone have the same experience? 2) On the sun visor on both side, I can pull a plastic flap out towards the center. Any idea what's the use? 3) I don't think my car has the Sat Nav DVD in the DVD drive. I tried pressing the eject button on the DVD drive and it gave a response as though it's trying to eject a disc but nothing came out. So I assume there's none. Could that be the reason why the japanese girl is talking with me? 4) Car came with 2 spare keys on the service manual together with the metal piece showing the immobiliser code. So kinda happy as it'll save me $$$ needing to get to Nissan to get a spare made! 5) Loving the telescoping steering and how the entire dashboard can be adjusted for height together with the steering wheel! Gotta say that's a super neat feature! 6) My dealer said he has done a first service (basically just oil and filter change). I note that my power steering fluid looks abit low (still above minimum level) and the colour looks brownish. Is the colour normal? I was thinking of getting some to top it up a bit until the next service when I'll probably get the mechanic to do a proper flush and top up. Any idea what type of fluid I'll need? Any help on some of the above questions will be most appreciated! Cheers!

Thanks Mike! Yeah... loving the car and I do agree with you that I do think the v35 looks better than the 350Z and is definitely more practical being a 4 seater. I am actually quite amazed by the leg room of the rear seats when I went to test drive a "sample" before I bought the car! And yes, can definitely see Nissan has put in a lot of effort on our cars! The attention to details on some of the things are just incredible. I just love the entire dashboard console. Looks really modern and classy! As for the stock rims, they look awesome and yes, probably one of the best I've seen. That's the reason why when I saw my car initially in the auction sheet, I was thinking "it would have been better if it has stock rims instead... and a sunroof would have been a big bonus too! " But like i said in my earlier post, after seeing my set of rims, i think they are great and I am starting to fall in love with it!

Hey Dave, The colour of the car is listed as grey in the auction sheet but the compliance centre where it got complied list it as blue. So I myself is not too sure of the colour. I do like it though and would say it's greyish blue! Anyway, here's a photo from the auction sheet. Any idea what colour is this based on Nissan? I haven't seen a single v35 coupe here with this colour and so far in the forum, I've only seen 1 in the v35 photos thread although I do see quite a few sedans with that colour. I've also PM you my VIN number and would be great if you can give me some details. Also, thanks for the carjam site. Had a look and noticed they got my car listed as a sedan instead!!! Is the details linked directly to the land transport details? If it is, I might need to update them! I got this lady today in AA doing the rego who looks rather lost and confused (suspect she's a new starter or something).
-
Thanks Dave! Yeah, after a few corners on Whitford Rd today, definitely felt the power and handling of the v35 to be much much better than the Atenza! So happy with the car now and really glad that the waiting is over! You were right, it's definitely worth the wait! Only worries today was when I called Towers and they decided to slap a $1k excess on the car due to it being a sports car!!! But that's sorted now. Managed to get it covered by AMI without issue now and at a cheaper price as well!
-
Thanks Chad! Yeah.... from the auction photos, I didn't quite like the rims and prefered the stock ones. But today, after seeing the real thing in more detail (as I didn't get to see the rim too well when I test drove the car coz it was during a late evening), I am beginning to love it!
-
Hi all.... been in this forum for almost 3 months now. Imported a 2004/5 v35 from Japan thru a dealer and just got my car today after exactly 7 weeks of waiting. So being a proud new owner, I thought I'll finally post on this thread to introduce myself officially! =)
-
Hey Chad, nice looking Stag in red mate! Anyway, finally, I've got my ride!!! Collected it this morning! Took it for a spin from Botany to Maraetai Beach but turned back halfway as there were road works. It felt AWESOME! So much more power compared to my now "little" Atenza and cornering was superb! Loving it!!! So, here's a photo of the car!

Latest update again.... Car is sitting in the yard waiting for me to collect and get it registered now... Unfortunately... yes, unfortunately, I can't be there to collect it! Here's the story. I got someone to come n install a heat pump so took half a day off work to be at home. Had the guy scheduled to come over at 12.30pm and he said he'll be done by 3.30pm and I thought I can get into the city in time for the car. Then, the guy showed up an hour late and worse, he only brought the internal unit and left the external unit in the shop!!!! Unbelievable! So off he went to get the external unit and by the time he comes back n start work, it's already 2.30pm!!! And here I am still sitting in front of my computer waiting for him to get the unit installed... and so it's another 1 night to go before I can get the car! Gonna wake up early tomorrow and get the car ASAP!!! Just unbelievable.... it's like there's a conspiracy in place to stop me from getting the car before a full 7 weeks of waiting!

Hey Dave and Mike, great news to see u guys are pulling more n more ppl into the M35 n V35 family! Well, my car comes with a set of after market 18" rims. I think they look good except that it's probably a little "high profile" especially with blue studs! I kinda like the stock rims actually as they look classier. Dave, are you looking at getting another stag? I was in Turners the other day with my Atenza's buyer to get Turners Finance to check the car for the buyer's finance. They had an auction going there so had my first experience seeing some bidding wars. There was another Atenza that has 2 guys bidding hard for it. There was another Primera on auction but didn't get to see any v35 n m35 there though.
-
No worries mate... well, come think of it, I wouldn't mind a little stock spoiler at the back if I get lucky with the wreckers as well! Anyway, when I saw mods, i was more refering to mods on the mechanical side of things. A little misunderstanding I guess!
-
Well, looking forward to some pictures then! Anyway, unfortunately, I don't think I'll be doing any modification to the car. Prefer to keep it stock atm. I have never been someone who enjoys putting mods into my car and I like the v35 in it's original state. However, do intend to put in some add-ons if i can. Will definitely do a bandwidth expander on the stereo and is thinking of potentially putting in either a reversing camera (that can be connected to the TV screen) or maybe just some reverse sensors (provided I can find sensors with colour that matches the car). Once they have the english conversion done for the s2 Nav unit, I'll probably get that done. So the plans is just to do minor add ons but not any major modifications.

The V Series Spotted Thread
win4ever replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Rianto, Certainly sad to see you leaving the v35 family mate! So will u still be actively involve in this forum or we are gonna see much lesser of you going fwd now? Anyway, good luck n seaching for a new house n car! -
Agreed! Would be good to see each other's ride! Anyway, I do agree that I am seeing more n more stags nowadays but still relatively small in quantity compared to other station wagons. So it's definitely good to see more n more ppl keen on getting a M35 or V35. A M35 taxi.... I gotta keep my eyes for that!
