  1. Haha.... yeah... i was sniffing around on the forum and saw that thread so decided to have a read and i gotta say it was like reading a horror story! Anyway, yeah, fingers crossed, it's easily fixed and sorted. Thanks for the well wishes!
  2. Hmmmm.... getting a little worried now... Saw a thread regarding the trouble of getting a 3rd brake lights LED in to Australia and how we might need to simply rebuild one ourselves in another thread! Now hoping that my brake light bulb is easily replaceable. I do note that my dealer is a highly optimistic person as seen in the missed time promises this week so I really do hope he meant it when he said the lights are sorted and I'll have the car in the evening.....
  3. Unfortunately Mike, the car is still not back at the yard!!! They said compliance picked up that there was a burnt brake light bulb so the dealer sent the car to a workshop to get it fixed. So he PROMISED that it'll all be done and dusted by tomorrow 11am! As a compromise, he'll come to me with the car to get the car registered and give me the keys straight. So barring any further unexpected surprises, the car should be with me by tomorrow evening. Car apparently passed compliance in a breeze (except for the light bulb) so all should be good. Dealer will get a pre-purchase inspection report from the AA done b4 passing me the car as well. So hopefully (again!!) all is good!
  4. Thanks mate for the wishes! Sure hope everything is good 2 go now with Compliance finally sorted. Anyway, a meet would be cool. I'll be keen to meet some of you guys who have been giving so much good advice on things. Anway, Modcarz (sorry haven't got your real name), where are photos of your car mate?
  5. Another update from me (not that many cares )! Just got a call from the dealer.... car has finally been complied! YAY!!! No issues except for a burnt bulb apparently which has been sorted now. Will go check the car later this evening, make sure things are all good and get the car registered tomorrow. FINALLY.....
  6. Gotta agree with Brad as I was kinda disappointed as well seeing the v35 so far behind the imprezza and lancer..... was hoping to be much closer although those are 4WD cars.
  7. Thanks for the support Mike! Well, I never owned a Holden before but never really liked the looks of their cars so never ever considered one! Tbh, I've never really paid too much attention on station wagons, but when I got into this forum, met some stags owner and started to look more onto the stags, I gotta say it does look very good!
  8. Mike, sorry if I offend anyone esp those from Oz, but I gotta say, i think the Stag is much much better looking than any of the holden wagons! And I do believe they are more reliable too! I've got a few old work mates fr my previous jobs that just absolutely hate holdens as theirs have just given them too much pain! As for me, I'll take a Nissan over a Holden anyday esp. the v35s!
  9. Hey Mike! Great news on the shocks! Now u can enjoy the stag even more! Is the $225 inclusive of labour? If it is, it sounds like a steal actually! I assume it will fit the v35 as well right? Something for me to keep in mind for the future (touch wood, if the need arise) Gotta say for me, I haven't really seen a lot of stags on the roads so it's good you and Chad are spreading the words on how good they are! Really hope we can c more of the stags and v35s around. We need to really build a community of Nissan lovers like the guys in Oz!
  10. I was actually hoping that the v35 will do better. Again the brakes seems to be fading after 3 laps just like in another clip where the v35 went against some rx8s and 350z.
  11. Dave and Mike, Thanks for the well wishes! Yeah! I have to say it's near perfect timing! The happy new owner of the Atenza came and collected the car today. It would have been perfect if compliance for my v35 can be done today so that I can get the car tomorrow. Unfortunately, there seems to be a queue in the compliance centre that my dealer sent the car to esp when he has like 5 to 6 cars to get complied. I've been harassing him to try to push for the car to get done quickly and the latest news is he said the guy in the compliance centre is promising him the cars tomorrow! So fingers crossed, we can get it registered tomorrow and Friday so I can have the car at least by the weekend. The car is already in compliance since Monday so hopefully it will be out! Once I get the car, I'll try 2 post some photos. The excitement and suspense is slowly turning into a little bit of frustration now so hopefully it'll be over soon. Anyway, Mike, do update us on your shocks! Hope things go well and the shocks will be better than the stock ones!
  12. Thanks heaps Dave for the update! Really appreciate it mate! Well, since I am here, tot I'll update on things with my car. v35 - Done compliance today. Waiting for dealer to update and looking to collect it sometime tomorrow or Thursday. mazda - Finally sold today. Finalising the deal tomorrow lunch to pass the car to that new owner. hopefully he'll be as proud as me having the car Certainly looking fwd for the new car to come. Probably gonna drive it down to the ski field soon for a snowboarding trip as well as to try out the car!
  13. I think this happened to my friends mitsubishi lancer a few years ago. If i recall correctly it was just some burnt fuse. Check the fuse box. Should have a diagram showing which fuse is for the headlights and see if the fuse is burnt. If it is, just get it replaced. Hope this help! Cheers!
  14. Hey Dave, mind giving me a bit more details on the feed back issue you mentioned earlier? I've tried doing some research here and haven't really understand what is really required. Some were suggesting a catch can but there are some who said it's not really needed unless it's a high mileage car. Can you give me more guidance? Or anyone's explanation on this matter is most appreciated! Thanks!
  15. Mate.... totally understand how you feel! When I bought the car in Japan, i was asking, how long does it takes for them to ship from Japan to NZ! The dealer said up to 6 weeks but I was thinking it has to be a buffer and the car will come b4 6 weeks right? Well, it came on mid of week 5 and then took another week b4 it clear custom n out of the wharf. Then it goes to the dealer's yard which I finally was able to do a test drive on it but now have to wait for it to clear compliance! It's week 7 now n I am still waiting so I absolutely understand how you really felt.
  16. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your car soon then! if it's 2001, I guess it's S1 based on my reading of various threads here! Do keep us updated on the conversion. Guess you are right, even if it's a slim chance, if you have an idea to make it work, u'll only find out by trying Cheers!
  17. James, I think many were suggesting that you post in the general car for sale forum instead as most guys here would already have a v35. Hope you'll find a buyer soon! I gotta say, it looks like a fantastic car in the photo! Always think pearl white looks really good on the car. Cheers!
  18. Thanks heaps on this Stuart! Suggest hold on to doing this first. Like I said, I'll need to double check my car when I get it to make sure I indeed do not have the DVD. Again, thanks for the help on this! Cheers mate!
  19. OMG!!! Gotta say that's one messy interior! Looks like a raceboy toy gone awefully wrong! And what's with the steering wheel?? I got a feeling that it's not gonna fetch a too good price! Anyone keen on perhaps a potential bargain (assuming you are happy with the interior) It's definitely a big NO NO for me!
  20. Hey Stuart, May I know where you are located? Will you by any chance be ok to send me a copy of the sat nav DVD if I am keen to get one (since yours will almost certain be the same as mine considering my car is just 1 month older than yours)? I think my car doesn't have it but will need to check n confirm when I get the car to confirm. If you are happy to help, I can PM you for details and is more than happy to cover the cost. Cheers!
  21. Thanks Dave for the update! I'll need to research more on the PCV feed back to the intake. not too sure what needs to be done. Is this a DIY job or I'll need a mechanic to do it? I am not a good DIY mechanic, so chances are i'll need professional help! Anyway, car is still being sorted for compliance by the dealer. He'll need to then groom, service n get a AA pre-purchase inspection done for me. So looking increasing likely that it'll only come mid / late next week. Another 1 week to wait i guess.... will then have a better look at what's under the bonnet....
  22. Stuart, yeah... i was more testing on how to fiddle with the control and getting to the info screen. Without a tuner or a sat nav system, there's really nothing much the screen can do. I did wanted a car with the screen though as I thought it's still a good idea to have the car stats and fuel consumption details rather than just another empty glove box. Anyway, does your car comes with a DVD for the sat nav system? Mine didn't have one and I am not too sure if it's possible to get a copy of the DVD for my car. Will you be able to help on this? Spong aka Dave, does your car has a navigation DVD? As yours is a late model stag, is it the same as my car's? Also, thanks for the guide on the navigation of the screen Stuart! Cheers!
  23. Welcome Ray! Good to see another v35 owner! Which part of NZ are u in? Any photos of your new ride that you can share? Anyway, my car doesn't seem to have the nav system DVD as well. Mine is a S2 v35 coupe. Anyone has a dvd of the s2 nav system with them that they can make a copy to be sent out, that'll be most appreciated! Ray, if you are indeed successful on your attempt to include NZ maps, then do share it! However, I think someone in Australia was saying it's unlikely to be possible. As for the english conversion, there's one for the s1 v35, but not sure if it's the same for you. There's someone in NZ that does it. I think the details are in one of Spong's post in this thread. Again welcome n do keep us updated on your ride! Cheers!
  24. Well, keep us posted on how those KYB shocks go when you have them installed! If they are better, then they certainly worth every cents considering they are cheaper than the stock ones! Also, I have been reading about the plenum/intake clean. Anyone has more details on this. Is there someone nice enough to do a photo by photo guide on how it's done? Thanks in advance to whoever is kind enough to do it! Cheers!
