Just a question to those that decided to use these lug nuts on their cars. Any issues with them? I've been trying to get a refund for mine but since Ty is refusing to give me a refund until my mate withdraws his paypal dispute, I might not ever get a refund and might have to consider using them.

Anyone Selling Coilovers For 350Gt Coupe
HiEUmungus replied to skyichigo's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
i think purple monkey dishwasher coilovers are a direct fit into v35's fairly cheap. heres a link to a video of them being fitted to a v35 -
Nate, the pictures on my flickr show the poor quality nuts that I received. I'm not sure if yours are the same but I ordered two sets and both of them were of crap quality and I had a few mates who ordered some too and got pretty much the same.
-
If they are indeed fake, I prefer to just get a refund as I don't want to pass them onto someone else. Here are some pictures that I took. http://www.flickr.com/photos/67594052@N08/6147016082/ Have a look through the photos. The first one shows the centre of the lug nuts and if you look down the centre, it is not uniformly red.. it seems to fade out as if they did a poor job of spraying them. The second picture is of the attachment for the lock nuts. There is nothing engraved on the attachment and also the inside of the attachment seems to be not sprayed properly. The rest of the images are little dents/scratches/imperfections that I noticed EACH being on a DIFFERENT nut. Judging by the overall quality, I find it hard to believe that these are genuine.
-
The thing is Cobey, Ty seems like a fairly genuine guy but doesn't believe these nuts are fake. But if they aren't, why are there things pointing to poor quality. E.g the little scratches and dents on some of the nuts, the poor paintwork inside the nut, the semi dodgy looking packaging. Are my mates and I just unlucky that we got the bad eggs out of the batch? Or has he been supplied with knockoff products. I rather pay $65 and stick to my D1 specs than pay $120 for fakes. Maybe I'm being paranoid and what my mates and I have received is "normal" but if there was no reason to doubt the integrity of these products, then we wouldn't have an issue here.
-
dori34, the thing is its only the 4 stud 35mm lug nuts that are $75, its $99 for 4 stud 50mm lug nuts and $120 for 5 stud 50mm lug nuts. I paid $120 for the 50mm 5 stud ones. Also, it's a sale which means these were actually more expensive a few weeks ago (they were selling them for like $200). So your theory doesn't fully work.
-
cobey it's not as bad as in the picture but if you shine a light into the centre of the nut, near the bottom of it, theres no paint or theres bits that have a little bit of paint run.. not sure if these are characteristics of dodgy lug nuts or not. also theres little dents and stuff on these nuts which sorta makes me question the quality of them and their authenticity.. I really want to believe they're real but I'm finding it really hard to.
-
Simon, I think you should lodge a paypal dispute and get a refund, that's what I've done. It's not fair that we pay good money for authentic items only to receive fakes. If they were advertised as fakes, that would be understandable.. ahh the deception.
-
Hey cobey I don't mean to deter anyone else from buying these lug nuts but I think it's important people are aware that these lug nuts are very likely fake. http://realorfakeitem.com/real-vs-fake/rays-dura-nuts-id7 Two of my mates as well as myself have ordered a set and have received lug nuts that look very bad quality. The paintjob through the centre of them isn't uniform at all (see pictures in the link) theres chips here and there and crappy quality packaging. Was really hoping these were genuine but I guess when things are too good to be true, they really aren't.

V35 Skyline Front Bumper
HiEUmungus replied to Thrty-5's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I believe that is the weber sports front bumper. Might be a bit difficult to find the same bumper here. You might have to source it from the U.S. Closest thing here in Australia is the GTR style front bumper which you can order from vendors such as www.bodykitskindom.com.au -
I personally wouldn't spend $275 but I spent $120 and ordered a set because it was on sale. Not only are they lightweight but they're strong. Also the paint doesn't scratch off like some other cheaper aftermarket brands and since I own a $20,000 car and $1500 wheels, I wanna be assured that my lug nuts will hold and won't warp.

it's probably because all the 20 pcs of 1.25 got sold out in black so you will have to go with red or blue my friend. basically, what they have available on their site is what they have left so get in quick!

Hey mate! Welcome to Queensland. I live in Brisbane and picked up my silver 2003 V35 coupe a couple months ago. Only mods so far are a fujitsubo exhaust and 18" enkei rpf1's. Maybe I'll see you around at one of the JDMST meets!
