  1. is it that bad it needs to be blasted?
  2. ^^ yeah give it a go yourself, to do a good job you will to remove a lot of the trim/fuel flap/tail lights etc to rid the rust and you may need some fibreglass matting on the back of the panels as i reckon you will end up with holes in some panels
  3. when i got my gtst the hicas light was on constantly fixed by taking the steering wheel off and lining up the dot on the inside of the wheel with the one on the column (werent aligned before) when i reconnected the battery no more constant hicas light!
  4. a little to a lot! quotes will vary but $2000 is over the top
  5. suggest you get the rust repairs done again but after its all painted(not left in primer as its porous and absorbs moisture= re rusting) then get in behind all the panels and spray fish oil in there, if you cant reach it with a pressure pack then buy a litre can of it from auto one and apply it using a $10 weed sprayer from bunnings this will enable you to get everywhere that a spray can cant, ive done this with a few cars over the years and it works well
  6. the revs are hunting because you are losing spark somewhere ie the cylinder is not firing due to loss of spark
  7. hi, would like the internal vct mod done on the neo head for my 25/30 build does anyone know which workshop in Perth does this? there is one engine builder who does the external mod in malaga but id rather not have to run an external oil line if possible?
  8. does the de head have solid or hydraulic lifters?
  9. how are the det heads and de heads different?
  10. nah before fpr should be okay
  11. is that a det neo head? if they are the same as a de neo head then it maybe worth getting one of those
  12. doubt it. . he hasnt been on here since last year
  13. pbp arent the cheapest but i can vouch for the quality of their work , ive used them a few times with no issues
  14. ^^ thats correct, saw that site yesterday, facebook required to download
  15. take the head off and remove it from the chamber
  16. its odd that its plugged in, is the loom factory or custom? from what ive seen manuals only require one plug ( not sure which one you require as my 32 is auto and uses both plugs)
  17. the other plug on the tps is the for auto r32s. . is your calais auto?
  18. looks nice n tidy, does the pod need a permit to get passed?
  19. if you HAVE to have a new part then nissan/amamaya (whoever!)might be your only options but dont expect it to be cheap. . but as pointed out above the 34 has the resistor as part of the ecu
  20. any of the above options are possible, how deep are your pockets?
  21. plenty of people have changed the box out of a 33 and put it on a 32 so the reverse should easily be possible
  22. maybe check the sprockets on the inlet and exhaust cams and find out what may have causedthe belt to jump otherwise it may do it again
  23. suggest you fit a timing belt kit and try to start the car? IF the motor is f**ked you would need those parts anyway as part of a rebuild , once you have got it all back together then turn it over by hand first
  24. it was a half assed conversion on my r32 by the previous owner, from what ive read on here the water lines on a rb20det turbo dont line up/fit with the lines on the rb25det turbo
  25. ^^wouldnt make a difference, my 25 turbo doesnt even have water lines hooked up and it doesnt glow
