  1. the screw on the ecu can do two things; increase the idle and also if you turn the screw right around it will start the red/green LEDs flashing codes ie diagnostics mode and your boss is way off; the mixture cant be adjusted that way, not even on a vl commodore
  2. suggest you spray a little aerostart into the intake and i bet it will start within a few cranks of the starter
  3. if the woodruff key is stuck there and is undamaged AND you dont need to take it off then id just leave it be, new ones are cheap from nissan if it is dead
  4. im thinking that an import (for example like a lot of what we drive) built in 1990s is overall going to have a better resale value and be in better condition(and build quality) than most any falcon or commodore from the same era, this is why ive always had japanese cars. . . ive still got my 1977 datsun 120Y that ive had since 1984 and it still goes
  5. i had this problem once before i used a skinny crowbar on the back of the spocket and GENTLY levered it off , dont apply pressure on the one spot ie move the bar around and lever off DIFFERENT POINTS of the spocket
  6. try adjusting your tps
  7. we have all contributed (albeit in a very very small way) to holden and fords decline by buying foreign cars, if the build quality/technology was there then id def buy australian
  8. i swapped the r32 (auto) rb20det starter motor for one out of a r32 (manual) rb25de starter no problems at all if you have a rb30e starter and not sure if its fits on a 20 then give it a try
  9. cant be looking hard enough then, there is one on ebay for sale in adelaide
  10. yeah nothing to lose, givem a shot
  11. nah. . im kind of attached to them but thankyou for asking! still give nissan spare parts a shot; you might be suprised; not everything they have is super expensive~ for example i picked drivers side door hinges for my r32 for less than what you see them secondhand on ebay
  12. if you have the money then i reckon go for it
  13. must be pretty bad, maybe score a good secondhand one and reverse the ring gear on that if possible, i see what you mean trying to get one here in aus, plenty in the US, would it be worth you trying NISSAN for a price on a new ring gear?
  14. yes, they will be different
  15. can you track down a pic of the oil feed? if you can get a hold of a manual it will show it
  16. they are not a common sort after item. . ive not really looked at the rb flexplate that closely but you MAY be able to reverse the ring gear on the flexplate
  17. your poor english aside~ the answer to your question is yes there are knock sensors on these engines
  18. yeah keep looking , there is always a bargain around the corner to be had
  19. it SHOULD be the same as the 25 and 20 run the same auto, you might be struggling to find one off a 26 tho!, i would try to get a new ring gear and get that welded on, a job best left to an experienced trans specialist
  20. ^^ do this! these trans can also be found in nissan cedric/cima. . Y31s and i think Y32s
  21. the 32s are usually noisier than 33s (when fitted with the SAME exhaust system) as the 32s run a smaller 2 litre motor compared to the 33s 2.5 litre and the gtrs sound different again. . there is a few skyline nuts living in my area and i can usually pick what model it is by the sound of the exhaust before i see the car bad luck bout the eyesight mate
  22. , i have one off a r32 rb25de on my rb20det so there is a lot of interchangability, if you are on ebay (or wherever) then send a message to the supplier and ask
  23. ^^ have a look at a engine dyno run on youtube (rb30det) the pipes/turbo etc all glow red hot within a few seconds of the operator slowly bringing the motor up to redline
  24. get a 1000 cc road bike. .best of both worlds :-p
