  1. for peace of mind a light hone is a good idea and is not overly expensive, removes any glaze that might be on the bore
  2. the buzzing is because your tps is out of adjustment; you can turn your ignition to on- loosen off the screws on the tps and move it around till the buzzing stops then retighten the screws; car should then start
  3. i have a r31 series 1 that im getting rid of soon, give me a yell if you need any electrical bits
  4. ^^ rb30engines are cheap enough. . sometimes cheap enough to come with a vl ! personally prefer to use R31 skyline bottom ends as they have 3 ribbed belts on the balancer unlike the vl which has 1 v belt and 2 ribbed belts
  5. id say they are stock rb30E pistons. . looking at the reliefs its almost like nissan wanted a twin cam 24 valve head on them from the start
  6. ^^ do as these guys say, bearings and rings are cheap anyway
  7. ^^ this would be a good start. . clean/replace terminals and hit it with spray on battery guard to prevent any more corrosion
  8. my series one 1990 gtst 32 type M doesnt have one across the top
  9. ^^ hope this works for you, im LEANING towards a tired fuel pump or something like that as thats easy for me to repair/replace
  10. not a lot swaps over, things like alternator/starter motor/aircon compressor / power steering pump should be okay tho
  11. ^^ ha ha! if your refering to me ive already got my 30 bottom end at the engine reconditioners for machining :-)
  12. doh. . i have the same problem with mine, im still sorting the EXACT cause but crimping the fuel return line after the fpr and it starts straight away ! try that!
  13. when you turn the ignition on do you wait for the pump to prime or just turn the engine over straight away?
  14. possibly burnt fusible link ??
  15. paintem red. . everyone knows red (cars) are faster
  16. i had the same problem years ago, it turned out to be a faulty relay staying energised even when key was out of the ignition = flat battery, id be checking this or any thing else related (as well testing alternator while your at it)
  17. ^^^ this! good quality japanese pumps. . not cheap n nasty taiwanese knockoffs
  18. quote me all you like; the original question was regarding gmb water pumps, i gave the opinion that they will go the distance. . have used them many times over twenty five years and i ask for that brand when im at my local parts store as for the belts im not sure about AS I HAVNT USED THEM BEFORE understand?
  19. ive used gmb pumps before and they go the distance. . as for the rest of that ebay kit im not so sure about
  20. take a look in the naturally aspirated performance section, all you need to know is there
  21. ^^ nah its all good , didnt take that personally. .as you know you need a thick skin living in midland due to the um. .restless natives that live here; anyways as said by another above cubic inches wilbe a big power adder. . . rb30 bottom end stroked out to 3.4 litres will give you heaps of off the mark torque and a less stressed engine (making the same power) than a RB26
