  3. yeah thats definatly a crank out repair job to fix that keyway. . if you can give crankshaft rebuilders a call and they can tell you if its repairable or not
  4. keep in mind the TB butterfly can jam when its warm from the engine heat, good idea to check the cable too

  6. nah its not like that, plenty of good ppl on here with good knowledge, suggest you speak to a few workshops up your way and go with the one you feel comfortable with, as for cost that would be up to the mechanic in question to provide you with a quote once he has looked at your car and works out what parts may/may not be required and how many hours labour he thinks it will take
  7. could be the throttle body butterfly is slightly warped and occasionly jamming open
  8. compressed air in thru the plugs holes will clear out moisture ( turn motor over by hand until you can hear it come out the exhaust) followed by a squirt of wd40

  10. hi, finally got the funds to build my 25/30 but my engine builder doesnt know where to drill n tap the block for the second idler (or tensioner?) can anybody who has done this conversion tell me the EXACT position of where it should go using a 152 tooth belt please?
  11. price a new rad support panel from nissan if you can, i got a new one for my r31 ($500) meant i only had half the work. . ie cut off my bent rad support and weld on the new one, job done
  12. could well be the flasher unit for your indicators, not sure where its located on a r34 but id be leaning towards that being the problem

  15. ^^^how can you be sure of this? you have checked already? ive gotten plenty of parts from nissan (r32) and quite often they have them in stock. . ie i needed a pvc breather hose on my rb20det; cost me $18 and was in melbourne, it was in perth by the next day. . same with the drivers side door hinges i needed

  17. ball bearing turbo? you may have been feeding it too much oil as bb turbos dont need as much oil as bush bearing turbos, hence the excessive smoke , you MAY have pulled it apart for no reason
  18. could be a heater hose but as there is many hoses running under the intake then you may need to post up a picture

  20. suggest you get as much of the conversion bits n pieces as you can . . its the missing bits that can make or break a big job like this
  21. at the very least you might have to get it retuned due to the lack of E85 here
  22. throw some heavy lsd oil in it and that might quieten it down. . .you got nothing to lose!
  23. probably the best idea is to replace it with a good secondhand unit with warranty, they are going pretty cheap.(rebuilds are over $2000) . . while things are apart i suggest you get a tranmission cooler fitted
