  8. dont know about maintenance as such but ive read that you dont expose the cat to unburnt fuel, leaded fuel, overheating (can melt the substrate)coolant and probably heaps of other things i cant remember, all the above can lead to a blocked or collapsed cat
  9. n nah, it was flushed out COMPLETELY as i was trying to chase a leak and overhauling the cooling system at the same time. . . another plus for using inhibitors in the cooling system is the coolant lubricates the water pump bearing and seals
  10. No doubt it has been "talked about" i tried running (only)distilled water in my rb and a week later it started to go brown, no doubt corrosion between the iron block and the water hence why corrosion inhibitors are used by the factory, if they could get away without the expense/necessity of using it they would
  11. locking out the hicas wouldnt of made a difference except for maybe a placebo effect, i got my 32 with the hicas removed, i refitted it and the front steering felt no different
  12. Sounds like there is something wrong with your 32s PS check that first as the steering in my 32 has good feel (either that or you need to tone up your muscles! )
  13. You should be thankfull instead! if it had rolled into somone or over a small child(or onto the road in front of a passing car) you would be feeling real sick. the car is easily fixed
  14. ^^^i would be suprised if this was the case for long. . .even distilled water will cause corrosion/ironise on an iron block RB
  15. Thanks Chris, will go with the 4 inch / tweeter on a plate idea
  16. If the dent is close to the fuel pump cradle you can pull that out and push the dent out from the inside, if the dent is not near there then go with Terrys idea^^^
  17. Hi, just about doing a complete fluid changeout on my 32 and now im a bit stumped on accessing the filler plug on my rear axle, i can see the drain plug no hassle but cant find the filler plug, would it be behind the HICAS rack? if so is it easy to drop the rack out of the way to get to the plug or is it a major nightmare?
  18. Hi, is there a DROP in speaker that will fit in the standard nissan bracket or is it a custom job (ie make up a fibreglass pod) to get aftermarket speakers in there?i can get new factory speakers in there but the factory ones are pretty average!
  19. ^^ this ! nissan LLC is in concentrated form when you buy it from nissan, when you add the recommended amount of distilled water to it it works out to be good value too
  20. most ppl end up turfing their RB20DET turbos when they wear out and throw on better flowing 25 turbs anyway
  21. def get a full flush on the trans if its cactus, did this at home in my driveway on my R32 gtst with some simple handtools and two car ramps, piece of piss
  22. ^^ this is what i had to do on my GFs avalon, overtightened by a mechanic and i had to put a screwdriver through it as a last resort, luckily the filter is on the front of the block
  23. VHT makes a very good caliper paint but needs to be baked to fully harden
  24. ^^ this they have to run of the cars we love eventually, its the law of supply and demand
