yeah there certainly isnt a lot of room under there,you might have to bite the bullet and take the manifold off as i cant see any kind of sealant staying in place as you would need the surface to be really clean for it too adhere

having dealt with a grunged up tank (car had stale fuel that had broken down over time)i believe the only way to clean it is to remove the tank, hit it with caustic soda and then a karsher high pressure water cleaner , i then flushed the fuel lines with solvent and chucked everything back together,(injector cleaner added) used a known working replacement fuel pump as the original was seized up with crud and couldnt be unseized, having seen the crap in the tank there was no way i was going to run the fuel pump without the strainer

i have nolathane suspension bushes on my 32. . .they can squeek like a bastard too, had a loose wheel nut on a truck i was driving, that squeeked badly, no clunking sound tho

leave them on, IF a rock was to get in between the timing belt and pulley something will break

i believe the car in question is a r32 not a 34?if he cleans/reuses his existing tank then everything will fit back up as intended

Did the workshop offer/give any kind of warranty on the gearbox when it was first fitted?

^^^working that out will keep me outta mischief for awhile. . . altho i didnt want to go to the expense of fitting the 25DE pistons to the 30E rods/bottom end to find out what (if anything) it will do to the CR. . . . sorry for hijacking your thread LAYNE GXE!

i reckon your best shot would be to put it to legal aid and see what advice they give you and go from there, whatever the outcome is be prepared for an uphill battle and congrats for not taking the workshops BS lying down

^^^ this is what i was thinking of doing, being the cheap ass that i am i have a 33 head (slighly shaved) thats already had the mods done to build a 30DET plus a 30E block that has an undamaged/unworn bore thats within original tolerance, from what ive read in the forced induction section i would end up with AROUND 8:5 to 1 CR using the 30E pistons. . . .i would like to bring it up to 9:1 CR and IF i can do that using 25DE pistons then i will go down that path(i have a low K RB25DE engine)

Hey Gerg R 31, whats your opinion on the amount that the compression ratio would go up too? have seen info on this on the R31 SKYLINE CLUB forum and there is a lot of differences on what ppl think it would go up to

would using the 25DE pistons increase the CR of the 30E? if so by how much?

there is a lot of damage (expensive to fix)to the sill / rear quarter and possibly the floorpan, IMO $3000 is a fair price to ask for it as is

ive seen these straps go to the heat shield on the exhaust manifold or turbo heat shield

there is a mesh screen at the tail of each injector, the only way to clean the injector and the screen correctly is to backflush OR you can buy new screens but they can be a bitch to change

yeah she has been cold lately! ice on the car windscreen on a few mornings

unless the mechanic is a complete berk then he shouldnt of knocked any vacuum hoses off when changing the oil (at least)engine bay is large and oil filter easy to get to when compared to a 32 anyway
