  1. try a compression test, that will tell you if the motor is stuffed (doubt it tho) or the tune is out
  2. it should be fine if its still below the air bleeder on your cooling system
  3. fark yeah, for the cost of a radiator cleanout and the possibility of a cooked engine its good insurance to have a filter
  4. couldnt agree more on the benefits of an in line radiator filter, the TEFBA filter has stainless mesh and is a quality item. . . im sure everyone knows here to use quality coolant and soft water but as just about all cars on this forum are secondhand who knows what the previous owner(s) have used in thier cooling systems?
  5. The product you are looking for is engine oil flush , there are a few different brands you could try, as for your AT, your local repco (or other) can help there, you have had to ask some very basic questions and its easy to screw up what you want to do .. . a service by a qualified mechanic MAY be your best option
  6. yeah, saw this on tv tonight, those crims werent going about it half-hearted!
  7. okay i thought thats what you were aiming for when you were asking about air filter/ muffler/extractors/exhaust as these mods will do f@#k all for your NA 30E, trust me on this as ive tried it all before
  8. If you are looking at going faster then you are FAR better off turfing the 31 and getting a 32/33 or 34 as they are better platforms for mods . . . . they have good brakes / IRS / turbo motors and heaps more aftermarket support than the 31 plus 31s look like pintaras
  9. For $10,000 you WILL get a good 34 (auto sedan tho). . . . thats what mine cost (complied) and has NONE of the problems you have listed
  10. I agree with the above, a freshened up 30 bottom end with 25DET head would of been better suited for his needs and wouldve worked out close to the same price as his 20 rebuild but heaps torquier
  11. Use LPG as the "cheap" runaround fuel, no need for a second map on the ecu and the gas has a higher octane than 98
  12. if you powder coat the rims your centre caps will still be silver, unless you intend running the car without them
  13. you got that right. . . its the main reason why i park my line waaaay back in my yard, ppl seem to get off on randomly setting cars on fire etc thieves even stole the copper pipe (for hot water system) off the outside wall on the rental property that im in . . .they must of got all of $5 for it at the scrap metal yard
  14. you must have DEEP pockets, you would be looking at around $1000 just for the cams alone. . . the oil pump is right up there too
  15. use a genuine NISSAN thermostat , they are the best
  16. very hard to tell what this harmonic balancer is off or the original application, can you rip it off and take it to a harmonic balancer expert?
  17. be aware that removing your rear wiper arm is probably going to earn you a defect notice
  18. 25DET intake wont bolt onto the R32 25DE head AND the R32 RB20det intake manifold has smaller ports that the R32 RB25DE head, i have all the above parts and was looking at doing something similar myself, easier to source a R33 RB25ET engine instead !
  19. love the new forum format, keep up the good work Moderators and to all those who make this forum the best skyline site in the country
  20. Quite true . . .new stroker kit out for toyota 4AGE available now
  21. i had rust coming out from under the seal on my rear windscreen, i caught it early and lifted up the seal with a screwdriver and bead blasted it to bare metal and then painted, hopefully fixed!
  22. this ^^^ would explain why there is so many aftermarket stroker kits
  23. i think you will find the crank is fine as it is from the factory for most uses on this forum
