Pretty ballsy coming into your garage like that and knocking off your wheels . . . . they dont muck around in midland either, sometime during the night some f*#kers went to the trouble of stealing my water tap out of my front yard,at least they turned off the water at the mains first. . .
how long is a piece of string? There is SO many things that will determine wether the engine is tired or not. . .has it been thrashed?, has it been serviced regularly?has the correct fuel been used in it? you have no way of knowing this, your mechanic can test the engine and determine by the results as to the condition of the engine
small capacity SOHC motors will never have much to give, you will end up spending a lot of $$ for not much gain, wait till you are off you Ps and go to a R33 turbo powered car
not sure if any 30 is stronger than another, it may come down too how the engine was treated in the car it came out of, probably find more cracked blocks as the 30 gets older
the RB25DE has a nice swept back designed exhaust manifold and flows quite well as it is. .extractors will make it SOUND like you are going faster but will put more heat into the engine bay due to the thin wall design
on a related topic my 32 speedo is slow by about 5ks at 60KPH and gets worse the faster you go, is there anything borked in the speedo that could cause that inaccuracy?

people who wont/cant/too stupid to use soft water/quality coolant in their cars engines (including some skyline owners- you know who you are). . . .the amount of time ive wasted fixing/repairing corrosion damage due to "hard" water being used pisses me off
ive gotten tension on belts before by using a short crowbar, albeit being VERY carefull what the bar rests on , heaps easier than trying to get tension by hand
there is enough similaritys between the 2 motors to make a DE to look like a DET , a swap of manifolds and rocker covers/oil cooler maybe all it needs, someone correct me if im wrong but the factory DET has piston oilers and the DE doesnt?
yep, all the above is correct, the belts are loose, soap may mask the squeeling short term but they will still be loose, DONT use grease as it will be flung around everywhere if you use it and may actually cause a slipping belt to overheat and fail
Fark no, please dont use a secondhand clutch plate, the bastard could have been tortured to the shithouse and caused damage that wouldnt be obvious till you have had it fitted to your car
sounds like crud or some other blockage stopping flow as even if the car in question didnt have a water pump (first cars on the road didnt) some coolant should of come out of the pipes, i doubt that the bearing on the turbo will suffer as the previous owner of my 32 blocked the turbo coolant pipes when he swapped out the RB20 turbo for a 25 turbo and the turbo is fine
