  1. Yeah ebay will be the only place you will get a kit like that. . .. . you COULD get all those hoses from nissan but you will get raped by them for it! i reckon go ahead and fit these hoses but keep an eye on them for any ballooning or signs of failure, they would have to be better than the crusty old hoses that are on there now, please use new hose clamps
  2. . . .and heating up the fuel more than you want
  3. it wont blow from having low compression, im sure there is plenty of non turbo 20s out there, this would be easier to use than trying to convert a DET to DE specs
  4. Thats a lot per lifter from nissan! hope you were sitting down when you got that price
  5. maybe for the automated toll system the car used when it was in japan (?)
  6. VG30E same as RB30E (have rebuilt both motor types). . .25 are different
  7. ^^^this, the car itself costs SFA, the govt has their hand in your pocket the rest of the time, go thru a reputable importer who will find you a good car in japan with low ks and (more importantly) a warranty
  8. Hi , can anybody tell me if a turbo with the markings 45 V2 is off a 20 or 25 please?
  9. Just pulled the injectors out of my 32 but i took off the top half of the manifold to get at the injectors and fuel rail, heaps of room now, also i suggest that you fit new injector seals while you have things apart
  10. have you considered not taking it to a DOT inspection complex? . .. .there is a listing somewhere on the WA section that you can take your car to
  11. . . . .with a warranty
  12. have a look somewhere on the net, there should be a diagram around showing the direction of the coolant flow thru the block / head/heater core, maybe a R32 workshop manual will show it
  13. if the motor is tired then the only fix is to Recondition it or replace with a tested/checked or reconditioned RB25
  14. sounds like the heater core is blocked, try reverve flushing it out before you rip the dash out to get at it,could save you a lot of time/$
  15. ah right, thanks for that zebra, hoping the 34 manual (english) im getting will help me out with stuff like that!only the had the car for a short time and still learning shit about it, adjusting the height of the headlights from the inside of the car is quite a novelty
  16. what is the red button next to the (34 GTT)shifter do? i have pushed mine down but it doesnt stay down, stuffed button syndrome?
  17. i love the 20 in my 32 but when it carks it i will put in either a 25 or 25/30 (plenty of parts at my disposal) as there is heaps of parts available for the later motor, ive even considered a 25 neo(the STOCK one in my 34 goes like hell)
  18. yep, i agree with the above, take that rim to simms and get another rim either under warranty or outright
  19. They look like the dowels that locate the manifold to the head
  20. yeah get rid of it, once saw this insulation sitting in a carpark smouldering away, luckily the owner ripped it off his car before it set it alight
  21. good thinking re brakes and stuff, just keep in mind that all the mods you want to do with the motor wont make much difference to power altho you might sound you are going faster! the 30E is a bit of a lame duck when compared to late model twin cam/turbo motors when it comes to power/bang for buck
  22. me thinks the 32 is the best option for you as they are a better package all round when compared to local offerings ie commo or falcon
  23. This^^^^ picked up a 34 sedan from phil ten days ago, its got a service history (Phil doesnt bring over crap) with books and its completely stock and goes like a rocket,
  24. ive checked this with the engines i have at home, the RB25DE has far more common parts with the RB20DET than the RB25DET, ie top feed injectors, same stud pattern on the intake (albeit with slightly bigger ports on the DE) the RB25DET intake will NOT fit the RB25DE head . . .different bolt pattern- different size/shaped ports, only the water jackets line up! (can supply photos if you wish)Brendan- does your aftermarket manifold come with provisions for bolting up the idle air controls , brake booster vacuum port etc?
  25. thats where i will be going, had a look at their website and they seem professional
