  1. Doesnt sound too bad to use then . . . just mix it at the ratios specified on the bottle. . .even LL coolant can cause corrosion when mixed at the wrong ratios
  2. The cover is vented thru slots on the timing belt cover and air flows thru them and out the back of the coil cover near the fire wall, , , beats crud dropping in the motor when you change spark plugs
  3. will the water wetter/ distilled water combo protect against corrosion and lubricate the water pump bearing?these are important requiremnts even for a track car
  4. the way i understand the post he wants to replace his coolant with water wetter and distiled water. . . .in this application it will be inferior to using nissan long life coolant
  5. nothing wrong with the factory LL nissan coolant but if you want to use an inferior product then follow the manufacturers instructions
  6. the shop that did my diff used automotive silastic on the cover of my diff. . . .no leaks, ive used selleys ALL CLEAR (already had it in garage) on a diff cover once before with no leaks either
  7. not enough info . . .problem maybe related to you cleaning AFM or something completely different
  8. The nissan engineers know best . . .leave it on
  9. just get all the exhaust/emissions gear/tyres/wheels/brakes etc from a GTR , fit to your car and you should be fine
  10. Certain solvents CAN f@@k any rubber seals and cause leaks . . i know cos ive done this
  11. get a gregorys (or similar) workshop manual and it will show you where these hoses go . . .as for the viscous hub, dont f#@k around with a secondhand (high mileage) unit, get a new one
  12. yes, it will be rusted out somewhere around the underside of the windscreen . . ., keeping pulling things off the car till you find it, if you are keeping the car then dont use silicon on anything except for the windsceen
  13. have you found out why the head gasket blew in the first place? if not then you could refit the head and spend all that $ and it could blow again as soon as you fire up the motor
  14. wether it pulsates or moves (whatever the terminology)if the water isnt circulating then the radiator wont remove heat from the coolant
  15. yep, sounds just like a vacuum leak
  16. Still pissed withem regarding your 25 eh jon?
  17. too easy, thanks Hugh
  18. downer EDI are putting up the new speed cameras at traffic lights everywhere, was working at night time at the intersections of guildford road/garret road, the damn thing was flashing like crazy. . . at the same intersection there is a red light camera which is activated by driving over a sensor wire cut into the road about 1 metre in front of the stop line, the wire itself is layed out in a rectangular shape across the lanes, it becomes "live" within 2 seconds of the light changing red unlike the speed camera which is waiting for you all the time, a guy at work went thru one of these set ups at hutton/scarborough beach roads , cost him about $650 in fines
  19. if its more grunt that your after then build up/get built a 30 bottom end and chuck a reconditioned head on that . . . .if you do that while your car is still going then you MIGHT be able to swapem over on a weekend without the car being off the road too long (just need a tune after that tho)
  20. Jake ,there is a bloke who can fix these sort of problems for you, have a look in the WESTERN AUSTRALIA section
  21. you could probably get new parts and it MAY be even possible for you to fit them if your handy with a spanner, ive always handballed these sort of problems straight to an auto electrician as you might have more than one issue on your hands
  22. sounds like the air compressor itself has seized(or the tensioner bearing), cant think of anything else that would cause the belt to do that
  23. is it longer tween the rear axle and rear bumper?in your opinion is it a lot of mucking around for an exhaust shop to make it fit? just looking at different options . . ie there is a coupe exhaust FS on SAU. . was looking at that and modding to fit but not if its going to cost more than a new one
  24. Hi, sorry if this question has been asked before, but does a cat back exhaust from a R34 GTT coupe bolt STRAIGHT up to a R34 GTT sedan or are the floor pans too different?
