further update
driving to work in stop start traffic was so much smoother, i actually found myself leaving it in auto mode and wasn't getting the lurching changing 1st to 2nd on very small throttle openings. I was very suprised how much it has improved
i have read lc5 software is even better for auto mode and will hold 3rd a bit longer, and that's really all the auto mode is missing
Nissan dealers really should have rolled out some kind of continual software upgrade for existing owners. In fact the r35 is the only car (dc and semi manual) i can think of where i haven't got software upgrades during scheduled servicing
I installed the 'kb15b lc4 stock' map and the shifts are definitely smoother, most noticeable is that the lurching while de-accelerating has completely gone
I haven't installed any of the launch control maps and am still using my factory vdc-r lc3
Though there are a few changes - lc3 was activated with everything in r mode before the upgrade, but now I can launch with suspension in soft mode and in full auto mode
Seems a bit more aggressive and was able to run a 3.1 0-100 in auto mode with it short shifting 1st. Must have been a fluke or vbox anomaly because I couldn't replicate it - next runs were 3.3 and 3.4 in manual and auto mode again short shifting
Going to stay with lc3 as the 3200rpm launch still gives me far too much wheelspin, and ill wait for Cobb to release user selectable launch rpm
haha how will lc4/5 improve the clutch take up point though?
i'm waiting on my code to upgrade the accessport - can be done through the ap manager now rather than having to send it back to US
i'm hoping the newer launch programs have better control on wheel slip, as 4000k lc will just dry my tyres even more than my current lc3
great times Kev, i think theres another tenth or 2 in it though on the strip
im heading to heathcote soon, and plan to use the vbox to monitor my run, if i get a good 0-100 ill stay on it, if not just roll through the traps
the reason the GTR is 200k new is because the government taxes the sh!t out of imports to seemingly make the local products represent better value for money and thus artificially facilitate sales.
i'll politely decline on the 'best made' commentary in fear of blowing up my internet
and as for the venerable forum favourite one dimensional straight line comparisons, a VL turbo will beat an F6 at 1/6th the price, and so on and so on......
Id like to do this for the improved shifts, especially the 1st to 2nd at part throttle in traffic which lurches like crazy
But I really can't launch with anymore rpm than lc2. What is the rpm for lc4?
looks great mate
i really enjoyed my road trip to willall last year
+1 on relaxed limits, once i crossed the border i went for it big time. even on the way home, it was long weekend and i was overtaking cars past radars and got nothing in the post
i was daily driving a c63 for a couple months before buying the R35 back in 2010
good daily the c63, but got bored of it. gtr is in another league in terms of handling and acceleration, even in stock form
you made the right choice
