  1. Hi guys. Got a noob question for all. I recently replaced my standard shocks and springs with another standard set that I got off a forum member as I thought they were busted. Got the mechanic to swap them over whilst it was on the hoist for a service. But after the swap, I found that the car was bouncing all over the shop like a boat on choppy waters whenever I went over uneven roads. Previously, this didn't happen. Now whenever I went a little too quick over the bump, my front bar will go smack on the tarmac. *Ouch* Had a look at the shocks and found 3 of them leaking pretty badly and the mechanic also confirmed that they were shot, though he was surprised as he said they looked ok when he put them in. Being money tight, I thought of getting another replacement standard set from the wreckers. But because the standard sets out there could possibly be on their way out as well due to being 17-19 years old, I'm also considering second hand coilovers as well. So, just like some opinion from the experts here on which option is a better choice. Feeling a little stupid as I'm probably better off not getting a replacement in the first place as the original ones were pretty ok except for one of the rears which was leaking.

    Windscreen Reseal

Spunky: I haven't got any pictures yet, but I get a small wet patch forming just above the rearview mirror at the roof trim, sometimes next to that area. It's more like a random spot being affected and depending on how hard the rain falls. But on the outside, the seal looks cracked and brittle. Dylaan: How much did it cost you? Just getting a rough idea.
  3. Hi guys. Anyone know a place that can do a proper windscreen resealing job in Melbourne? My front windscreen leaks from the top whenever it pours and it's high time I get it fixed.
  4. Put them up into the For Sale section. Useless to ask here if you don't even put up a price as well.
  5. you wouldn't have any coilovers or shocks/springs?

    Room For Rent

Possible that Tarneit being too new a suburb that someone may not even realise it exists?
  7. Not sure if the pump is stock or not. But thanks all for the feedback. Asked the old man about this and he reckons that it's just a dirty fuel filter getting constantly blocked up by sludge in the tank when the fuel level is low. Might change the filter anyway as it looks like it hasn't been changed since the car rolled out from the factory. But can anyone confirm this? mad082: When this happened at the servo, I put in around 56-57 litres, which makes about 8-9 litres left. It didn't happen again after that until it reached about the same level and I topped up about the same amount. Odd that it should happen at 9 litres when the missu's civic had only 5 litres left once and didn't have anything happen to it other than leaning out slightly.
  8. Hi all. Having a problem recently. Whenever the fuel gauge needle points to the middle of the last quarter of the gauge ( almost to the empty mark, but no light on), the fuel system seems to act up and the car would start sputtering like it's dying out. Happened once when I was pulling into the servo and another time today when I was stopping on a downslope at my workplace. The car decided to cut out and wouldn't start until I rolled it down to level ground before it fired up normally. Both times had my fuel gauge pointing close to empty. But this doesn't happen at all whenever the needle points to anywhere above the quarter mark. Hence comes my conclusion that the fuel pump can't seem to be drawing fuel whenever there's too little fuel. But I've had this much fuel left in the tank many times before and never had this happen before until recently. Does this mean a dying fuel pump or can anyone offer any advice on this? Tried the search button but not sure if this is similar to others' problems or not.

  17. Hi all Got to clear out some extra stuff lying around. So here goes the list: Fibreglass copied Trust front bar for R33 - $25 ( PICKUP ONLY) Bar has scratches under the front from scrapping on the driveway. Cheap price due to crappy can paintwork and the fact that it was molded in a pretty unfashioned manner where the front grill portion actually hits the bonnet latch handle and the grill sides were scrapping against the grill slots on the headlights, giving the installer the only option of using cable ties to tie the front grill to the latch and the headlight grill slots. Only suitable as a replacement on track cars. Certain mod work needs to be done for it to be used on a street car. Does NOT come with the indicators as is in the picture. Nissan DIN pocket - $10+postage OEM orange indicators - $10+postage Pocket is off a Pulsar and indicators are off a R33. R34 GTT SMIC with shroud - $90 ( PICKUP ONLY) Items are located in S.E suburbs of Melbourne. Shoot me a PM or contact me at 0431316774 if interested. Cheers Danny
