    Pre Apprenticeship

Yeah, it's been my dream to be a mechanic, though I did multimedia in uni for some other reason before. I've sent in some applications already, so still waiting on them for a reply. Did you guys go through a group training place and got them to get you the pre apprenticeship or you just went to TAFE and did it yourself? Different institutes offer different durations, so I'm kind of stuck on which one. I work full time now and still pondering whether if it's feasible to take 2 months off to do the pre app full time.
  5. Hi all. I'm looking at taking up a mature aged automotive apprenticeship. I've just applied for one with VACC, but got dumped. ( So much for the talk of a lack in mature aged applicants and increasing number of apprentices dropping out halfway through the game. ) I'm now looking at other alternatives. For those who are or were in the trade, do you think going door knocking will be the best bet or am I better off getting a pre apprenticeship done first? I'm kind of skeptical of door knocking, but hell.... if this is really the only way to go, I'll do it. But just looking for some advice here as I'm still kind of clueless even after getting info from various places. Thanks all.
  6. Got one lying around. Let me know if you still need it.
  7. How many k's on the coilovers?
  8. I saw a Nur Spec parked outside Vu's shop a couple of times some months ago. Is this the one? Same colour and same nismo wheels.
  9. Thanks guys! much appreciated! One more retarded question. To hard wire means to solder the led's wires to the boot light's main wiring?
  10. Hi guys. Noob question again, but no slamming please..... I'm trying to tap into the boot light wiring for my led strip that I'm going to install into my boot for a bit more light, but I'm not exactly sure if it's 100% safe to hard wire the strip's wiring to the bootlight wiring. Can anyone enlighten me on this? any info is much appreciated.

Don't. If everyone's gonna start walking, they'll slap in a walking tax, make us get regoed for the pavement and defect us for "illegal footwear mod" (aka running shoes) and any signs of walking faster than 1km/hr will cop a "speeding" fine.
  14. Good to hear that.
  15. Can someone enlighten me about if any car theft ever made to the news headlines before? Because something's smells fishy. Hesh. No point asking why your neighbours did nothing when they're like 15m from your home. One of my previous rented places had a neighbour throwing a party one night up til 3am and the noise was so loud that I reckon it could be heard 20 m from that house. And guess who was the only one who called the police? Me. No others. No one else cared. And the noise was so bad that the two officers who came had to literally smash on the front door and the windows to get some attention. Do your neighbours ever say hi to you at any time? If not, don't pin any hopes on them cause I wouldn't.
  16. I'm thinking could it might just be some undercover going around taking skylines away because they sort of "thought" that placing booze buses around ain't taking these "dangerous" cars off the streets to make the streets "safer", therefore taking them away and then pushing the blame onto low life dickies. But this is just a wild thought, maybe too much tv for me.
  17. Do some wet sanding with some high grit paper eg 1000 - 2000 grit progressively around the scratch areas, then get some touch up paint either from Repco, Autobarn or from your local auto paint shop and touch up the areas. Not gonna look the best, but better than having the scratch marks around to ekk you every time you look at them.
  18. Depends on what's your idea of interesting.
  19. Sorry to hear about this. Just as the Chinese saying goes, " The roads are like a tiger's mouth." We'll always be vulnerable to something on the streets at anytime, our fault or not.
  20. Had 2 different non skyline owners give nice comments about my car, with one of them owning a V8 ute and another whose bro owns a S13. So at least some out there do appreciate skylines.
  21. Noob question. Will the airflow get restricted if the duct faces straight down rather than towards the front? Also, will rain be an issue? I saw an S15 today with a CAI fabbed into the front bar and I was wondering what's going to happen if it rains and the water gets into the duct.
  22. Hi. Not sure if it's a little late to ask, but is it original or fibreglass? And is it still around?
  23. +1 to Sabbadin. Just remember to make an appointment with Rob first before you go in as he can have a full booking most of the time.
  24. I normally buff them out with swirl remover every couple of weeks as that's how often my driver side headlight turns yellow. But if anyone else has a permanent solution to this, you are most welcome to share with all.
