  1. Sorry (well not really) but im calling BS, there is no way in the known universe that your driveline is ~ 85% efficient! Just not possible, and an AWD system is less efficient & auto less again, you can easily experience a 40% loss of transmitable power! Its not a liner scale either, much like the efficiency of a turbo isnt one of linearity, the driveline is no different only not so dramatic. Stock is not 150kw at the wheels either! Yeah 300kw is possible from an un opened rb25, but not with the limited mods you posed earlier, with all supporting mods yeah, but it would not be cheap & it would be a time bomb! 260rs does it much easier, but still not cheap! Im building a 700hp+ fly rb30 at the moment, power is expensive, especially if you want it to be consistant and actually last any great length of time! My s1 stagea (yep non-neo so down alittle bit, but) with a full 3" HKS Hi Power exhaust with 100cell metal cat, HKS split dump, custom low mount mani, HKS pod, Blitz LM FMIC, HKS EVC4, HKS AFR and a few other mods @ 9psi made 153awkw & 555nm on 98ron! Most people grossly over estimate the power they can achieve & equally underestimate the cost! Ive spent twice what i paid for my car, on my engine so far and its not even in the car yet!
  2. 500hp fly is only about 250rwkw and you wont get 300kw with just those mods on a 25, but you will be in the 200's (still pretty darn quick)!
  3. Motul 300v Competition 15w50 is what I use, but any good quality 10w40 would be adequate for daily commuting.
  4. wheres the 'like' button?
  5. Hey, i'll swap you all the auto stuff from my stagea, for the manual!
  6. Being a human fork lift is not an advantage in martial arts! Flexability and speed are unrelated, but both equally useful. Strength can be useful, but not nessesary, too much is a hinderance (imo). It of course is highly subjective. Really you should think of it as, you pick the ideal body for your entire life, focus on that and work within its limitations and exploit its advantages. What seems ideal for one person maybe completely different for someone else, taking in all the influencing aspects of their life. So no, there is nothing wrong with bulking up muscle, with reference to martial arts, just be aware of the trade off. Power to weight is far more important than gross force, especially with us being car enthusiasts should know this very well! Also if you consider sport martial arts, most are fought in comparitive weight classes, so no real advantage physically. As for combative arts.....well thats a complex area and a story for another day! A few things I think are useful to a martial artist are, fast twitch muscle fibres, yoga, pilates, gymnastics, meditation, physics, anatomy and of course going to training! haha almost forgot, time lots and lots of time! also for shitngigz i noticed the emoticons next to me portray kendo very well... lol
  7. ok to clarify things: Both NGK, The BCPR7EY is a "copper" plug, roughly about $4 ea, The IRITOP7 is a racing iridium suitable for extreme turbo use and are about >$30 ea! *general iridiums -IX are not really suitable for high boost, but the IRI- series is and was its sole purpose for development (They are the same as the Nismo & HKS racing plugs)! FYI: RB25 use BKR7EY and IRIWAY7. *difference being that one uses the ISO standard & the other JIS, meaning about 1.5mm difference in body length, both compatible with each other in most applications. These plugs are 0.8mm gap std! * (where as, a 1.1mm gap plug carries a suffix of -11, a 1.3mm is -13 etc etc.) At 19psi using '7' would be spot on, especially for street, but if your doing serious racing or vmax challenges then id recommend '8'. Coils, Splitfire are good, but personally I'm looking into Okada Projects as they seem to be awesome on paper & I would be able to open the gap up to 1.1mm or more by the sounds of it (better emissions, economy etc)!
  8. Is the car NA? The RB25 head in a 32 with a turbo is a sign of things being a bit "special"! There are lots of clues if you know what to look for, but mad082 is right, look at the engine number, it will start with RB30#####.
  9. NGK BCPR7EY (cheap, short life) or IRITOP7 (expensive, longer life). *If your running >25psi then look at getting 8 heat range instead of 7!
  10. You guys might find this info useful! (only 3 ecu's on c34 stageas', RB25, RB25Neo, RB26) *S1 RB25 = pita! Stagea ECU diagrams Z32 uses a different ecu to the s1 stagea, as does the R32 & R33 GTST (all similar to RB26DETT, single afm is the difference) , the R34 RB25DE & Y33 RB25DET Gloria uses the same ecu as the s1 RB25DET stagea (fyi: the 98-00 VH41DE uses a very similar ecu)! Worthy of noting is that the neo pinouts are very similar to the s1 ecu! There is no nistune for s1 ecu!!!
  11. Also, are they still available? (ie: another run?)
  12. I've been into it for a fair while now, covered a few styles too..lol. Well, a bit of Boxing, several years of Rhee TKD, couple of years of Bujinkan Ninjutsu, couple of years of Tsutsumi Ryu Jujutsu, bit of Shotokan Karate, bit of Krav Maga, bit of Muay Thai and some Bagua. Now currently studying (last 3-6yrs) Kendo, Iaido, Jodo, Judo & Aikijutsu. Im also planning on studying these in the future: Muso Shinden Ryu, Tamiya Ryu, Daito Ryu, Kyusho -jutsu. Martial Arts stopped being about the fitness and competition years ago for me, although I have competed at a National level only last year. Its more about the art itself, the tradition and philosophies, not to mention aquiring ancient, once sacred and firecly guarded knowledge, can be quite addictive. Its also important to pass this on, so that this knowledge isnt lost (putting it in a book or videoing isnt good enough unfortunetly..... if only matrix learning was possible huh?!) Also, when choosing a martial art, I dont believe that there is technically a 'bad' art, some better than others, but they were all created for a reason and a need (whatever that maybe....); they all have their place! Its just a matter of figuring out what it really is, that you want to gain by doing martial arts and scale that against how much effort your willing to put in and for how long! Then you can narrow down the arts to a few that would be best suited to you and available within your travel constraints! Biggest is not always best & getting to the top the quickest isnt nessessarily a good thing either! my2cents
  13. What AFM are you using? Also what IC?
  14. And a link to the M&W CDi unit, M&W *sorry wont let me add it to the poll now!
  15. yeah true, but it would still be an interesting statistic, i guess i could go tally the 20pages? oh well it seemded like a good idea at the time.......
  16. yeah a 20 page one actually, but man what a pain in the arc that is to read & still at the end im still no better off for reading it! The poll is what i most wanted, cos it would give a clear indication as to what is the hot favourite at a glace, without trolling 20pages of rubbish! **mods delete away..... would be nice to PM the person whos thread you delete, informing them of why! >rant over<
  17. Well i did start a new thread on what options were available for the RB's and what were the pros n consetc, but an overzealous mod decided im not worthy, so im dumping the info here so as not to waste it ....good luck with figuring it out, with all the negative neysayers in one corner & with a bunch i have nfi floating around in the other, just to help things! I was hoping to get a clearer answer via a poll but apparently we cant do that.......................... So anyway here goes: Okada Project - Plasma Direct Splitfire FET SuperSpark Yellow Jackets JJR OEM Random Ebay ---- HKS - Twin Powers Okada Project - Plasma Lift M&W - CDi Links that I could find: http://www.okadaproj...sa/products.htm http://www.sf-j.co.j...lish/index.html http://www.superspark.com.au/ http://www.performan....com/page27.htm http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=839 http://www.mwignitio...i_ignitions.php *My 2 cents, Okada Project if money is no object, Splitfire if your after a proven product at a good price, Yellow Jackets on a budget & OEM if ya dont give a crp!
  18. To the moderator! So why was a legitmate question & poll thread deleted? It could have been the definative thread to RB ignition options, but your denying it from existance....why? do you have a secret 'no-one is allowed to know what there is and what is best for the RB' agenda? It was a good thread and a good poll, what is your justification!
  19. Ok so although there is an epic thread on coil packs going at the moment, its a long read with no decernable outcome! Im hoping to get a clearer indication (via a poll), as to what the best option is? The poll has all the coil pack and ignition upgrade options I know of listed (feel free to tell me if I missed any): * The last two options are Ignition upgrades to boost voltage/amperage to the coils! It would be great to see some definative results on all these options & before/after Dyno sheets would be awesome too. Try to bring some sound logic & possibly even some proof/results to you arguements.......... pointless bickering makes for a painful read. Budget? Reliablity? Performance? Quality? What aspect/s do you look for? Is that justification for it being the best in your opinion? What is the best and what is the best value, are not nessesarily the same thing, but i think we should find out! Links that I could find: Okada Project Splitfire Super Spark Yellow Jackets HKS
  20. So has anyone used Okada Project coils?
  21. I have a series 2 RB30 sitting here for sale at the moment after stripping my R31! Happy to send it to you, if you organise the shipping!
  22. A shot I took awhile ago, but thought I'd kick off with it anyway!
