It allows you to view various stats from the pre-existing sensors in your car sourced from your ECU. Check if your car has OBD1 or OBD2, because depending on which one, the combination of what you can view will be different.

Protecting your baby from theft
Kutter replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I've seen the ones whereby it locks the brake together with the clutch pedal......something else for them to cut..... which means more time involved, keep a wheel clamp in the car just in case,or 4....lock up all four wheels... add that to the alarm siren hooked up to your airhorns......an internal siren to make him to deaf....Autolok the steering wheel.....or remove it if you have a Nardi wheel....I used to do that.....I'm a paranoid kunt :uh-huh: -
how do you drive manual properly?
Kutter replied to warpz0r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
huh? there's a reason for not going in neutral while braking in racing simply because....well...they're racing of course :uh-huh: any sudden increase/decrease of traction force at the tyres will greatly screw up the car's balance while racing...hence why the heel&toe method...to match the revs... normal day-to-day driving....the effects are negligible....I only do it because it's just smoother....be able to upshift/downshift without actually feeling the car jerk/lurch/pitch forward etc etc..... -
how do you drive manual properly?

I practice heel & toe whenever I can....people think I'm crazy but there's just some sense of satisfaction in getting your rpms just right for the shift. other than that.....if slowing down to a red light I just pop it in neutral and let it cruise with light braking. -
Just saw an ad for Today Tonight... Speed limited car

speed don't kill...only when you hit something... -
nevertheless,as this is new law is being implemented; the ministers and public will be looking for "results" so to speak. So I suggest we all be extra careful and not become scapegoats of this witchhunt....it's about the only thing we can do for now...give it 3 months....and see how this goes...after all...we always conduct ourselves in an orderly manner on the roads now don't we?

it's all about having self restraint...some people have it...some just don't learn...and no amount of driver training/education will change that....it's just gonna make them think they're invincible. it's like martial arts...some people learn it for self-defense.....while some will think they can take on anyone after a few lessons.....

I vaguely remember the early model MX5s coming with the 1.6 engine....the later ones(non-flip headlights) came with a 1.8litre? personally I'd think it'll be far out for the original script to make that error....i mean it's pretty obvious that's not a v-type engine....quad-throttles....4 ignition leads....hmmm....

Whoever subbed mine obviously didn't have a good knowledge of in-line engines and the 'vee' configuration engines....

all comes down to self restraint....everything else are just excuses. -
reason for getting a vspec gtr?
Kutter replied to noise's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I thought the term "ATTESA Pro" was given to the R33 GTRs 4wd system which was the improvement from the R32 ATTESA system? and correct me if I'm wrong I think the R33 VSPECS came with an Active-LSD system.... -
fact #1 : There will always be bent cops fact #2 : There will also always be drivers out there wanting to show off their 'fully sick!' drifts/burnouts on public roads. Point? You have dickheads from both sides of the fence. :flamed: Tip : being nice and polite to the officer often helps in situations pertaining to the above fact #1; having an ego about it if you're in the wrong doesn't help things PS: I'm glad someone agrees with me for once.

I think it's largely to label those who put stickers(HKS/GREDDY/APEXi/etc) and obviously don't have the parts on board the vehicle(I once spotted 'APEXi' stickers on an old school Ford POS-something....hmmm). Also those who try to badge their cars into what's obviously not what is was originally...namely Honda boys and they obsession with labelling everything into a Type-R...Mitsu Lancer owners with their EVOLUTION/RALLiART stickering, and as of late some GTSt drivers with their GT-R badges. I don't classify those who put on GT-R kits as rice, but to actually badge it into something it's obviously not...that's rice.

as with all things, the laws are supposed to act as a deterrent to stupid hoon behaviour on the roads, but nothing is foolproof. The first strike should be more than enough to curb most from behaving silly the second time.......but as I said, there are some people who will just try to get away with anything......

that's an inevitable fact of life, as i've mentioned, you have the crime, and the people running away from the punishment....unless you're a glutton for punishment.valid point, no one likes handing over their cars to the police to get it "impounded" for 48hrs, and I know we're paranoid about coppers who've gone on a power trip and pulling over import owners for no reason just to get us to bend over and take it, but as the saying goes, "comes with the territory". Wanna mod up? bodykits? exhaust? huge turbo and wastegate? then be prepared for some attention, good or bad. You can't help thinking cops are biased towards us because of that, I mean if a cop car was travelling along, sitting infront on the left, old POS festiva, one hubcap missing, DIY bubbling-brand tints, and on the right, (insert_sick_import_car_here) , lowered, can-hardly-see-out tint, N1 exhaust, rims/bodykit.....who's the car that the cop is likely to keep an eye out for doing something stupid? PS: Mirkz, nothing personal against your comments above. this is an internet forum where pretty much everyones post is their own opinion....unless otherwise stated.

who has broken the law(light or severe) and NOT thought about getting away with it? It's human nature.... so...don't drive like a dick the first time and....don't drive like a dick the second time after getting the first warning.... well.....still act like a dick racing on the streets and you deserve to get the car impounded
-
agreed, I don't like this law as much as Saddam likes G.W Bush, but stating reasons like "increase in the number of high speed pursuits" as a reason for going against this law isn't gonna help us. People running from the law(by foot or car) is always gonna be a fact, no criminal would really stop when the police yells "STOP", that's the problem these days, too many slap-on-the-wrist sentences that make our judicial system look like a joke.....all that re-education,counselling new age bullcrap.....what happened to a punishment to fit the crime? because there are always dickheads out there with something to prove on the streets. No amount of legal drag/track meets is gonna curb this. Blame it on the current culture trends we live in.........and that movie too....

...........what??? tell me in which way does a rapist, raping more women thinking that will help him get away with it???? boo-hoo, cry me a freakin' river for those who get caught out the third time :boohoo:
-
this is a joke if anyone is intending of using that argument to oppose this new law from being implemented. it's like saying : "hey, let's reduce the sentences for armed-robbery/rape/murder and hope people don't run and give themselves up instead" :kick: the truth is, if the first 2 strikes don't send you a message yet, no one's to blame for the third one.... :box: my opinion.
-
i guess that's what they're ultimately interested in i reckon... :box:

get a cheap EF Civic, weld in a roll-cage, drop a B18C series engine in it, and spend the rest on suspension, drivetrain and tyres.

33 Gtst or 180sx HELP!
Kutter replied to the_consumernator's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Disclaimer : these are only my opinion, so don't come flaming my ass for it. :flamed: I'd be leaning towards to 180SX purely from an aftermarket point of view. Face it, comparing what the japanese market have for SR20DETs and vice versa for the RB25DET, the ol' SR wins. Partly due to their popularity for drift usage as well... Interior wise, I'll have to agree the old-school plastics and seat material aren't the best looking thing in 2004, compared with the R33 Skylines which is much more spacious. Now depending on who you are, I find the R33's interior too big, the seating position doesn't exactly inspire confidence, whereas with the 180SX I find that you're sitting in the car rather than on it. + the R33s GTSt/s are too heavy and underpowered from factory...but I guess that's why there's always the GT-R up on top of the food chain. :kick:
