  1. Would you still have the front indicator wiring harnesses?
  2. I'm guessing the exhaust is more suited to track use due to the size? How loud is it really?
  3. Nope, they'll just sign the back of the Defect notice to allow you to drive up to the date of your Regency appointment...provided you have booked an appointment first and they can only do this if they can confirm the booking! You must do this during business hours of Regency, the station will call to confirm said booking.
  4. In the case where an officer "suspects" the car is defectable, you will get defected...that's all there is to it. If it's a VIS inspection (Major Defect) and if you call up regency and tell them exactly what BS defect it was and it's legal, then you "may" be given the option to go to the cop shop to get the defect reinspected and taken off defect. Not my personal experience, but I've heard it happen a few times here.
  5. Caster Rods, I was told it must be stock. Rose jointed rods = No.
  6. [Vent] Put turbos back on, sell car? Pay for removal/reinstallation and just take it in the nuts? Sell engine, buy R34N1 engine + turbos and apply for an engine conversion? In SA, that actually seems like a good idea....ARGHHH. [/vent]
  7. N1's + Regency = No go They use an endoscope to check housing numbers.
  8. Nisskid, you tried searching for "eyebrow height R32 GTR" here? Theres 3 threads...with no info specific to it. The cop that got me actually tried to ping me for an R32 GTSt, which was something like 360/360. It'd really help if we were informed and I'll be printing that PDF and keeping it in my glovebox from now on.
  9. Same defect question yet only now have I found who/where to get the final answer regarding eyebrow heights without calling in. Thanks Howie! This place is meant to be a resource for finding information and I think it did a pretty good job so far. I did search through here prior to making the thread. True, I vented a bit but I was more interested in the information so far presented. Pet peeve of mine is the obscuring of information that should be publicly available yet the pdf was not online anywhere at all...also eyebrow height measurements weren't always around.
  10. Looking for a set of stock R32 Caster Rods. Mine are aftermarket and JMS has a set but they have busted bushes.
  11. I've got a clunk going on in the front right suspension, probably a worn bush but I'll get it looked at. Seems from that list only thing that would get me is ECU and ride height. Spare tire...what about the wheelbarrow tire? IE: Space saver? I also heard that tears in the seat fabric are bad, I've got the standard R32 GTR hole in the drivers side seat...
  12. Yeah gotta cop ride height on the chin, there's no way I can say it doesn't "look" that low when hes gotten the tape measure out already... I found the PDF that contains the eyebrow heights...it doesn't have my car on there! 89 GTR, they've got: GT'R June 91 onwards 375/355 (WTF? 375?) R32 Turbo Low Volume Import 91 onwards 360/360 (pretty sure this is GTSt) Only one that matches the year would be June 88 TI/Silhouette GTS 330/325 For those playing at home: Eyebrow heights
  13. Got my defect virginity busted last night on the way to dinner...wasn't driving like a tool, wasn't speeding, not even a breath test and he even said "After 25 years on the highway, you can spot a car thats too low". Got done for eyebrow height, 325/305 when it should be 345/355...the rears are 5cm! I didn't even remember my rears looking so high! Only annoyed that all the little things that I've been putting off needs to be done right now. Anyone got a checklist for things to do? I can just plug my stock ECU back in running R34 N1's right?
  14. You a storm chaser or something?
  15. Fixed it for ya!

  17. I get confused sometimes with people's attitudes, I've been harrassed because they think my car is a GTS modded to be a GTR, harrassed because it IS a GTR and harrassed because it's an R32 by an R33 driver...just because I've been badged and didn't bother to clean the gunk off...or because I don't wash it every week (which I should)...it looks like a POS but it's my daily and happy with it! Well not 100% happy, and the performance bug is itching but some people prioritise different things. Power > looks or vice versa, doesn't matter. Let people have pride in their own cars, I don't care if you drive a lancer or a v35, if you're happy with it, good on ya! Just don't push your ego on me and let me have my dirty R32 to myself to enjoy and all is good. WTF is the point to an ego anyway? everyone has one it seems.
  18. Wanted: Catback exhaust suitable for an R32 GTR that is larger than 3inch + high flow cat. Don't need front/dump as I've already got em.
  19. What model does this fit? Got a part number? I'm looking for spares for a TBEVO3
  20. Bullshit or not, does it really matter? If it is, then this beats the crap out of those shock advertisments they show. It contains logic, reason and evidence. What more can you argue about? Read it, understand the concequences and if you still choose to ignore the signs and endanger others, thats your choice. I like to go for a spirited drive, but I don't for a second think that I'm the only one on the road, neither do I treat the road as my playground.
  21. Doh, forgot to mention the contents of the locked NS.com thread... They were talking about deliberately crossing double white lines in the Adelaide Hills >.< I know the read probably won't change my driving as I don't even drive 6/10 of my limit, it's that reading that may stop you from pushing your boundaries on public roads in a moronic manner.
  22. Found this linked from a stupid/immature/egotistical thread over at NS.com where I lurk a fair bit. I actually read all of it and it really is sobering. Ignore the source where I dug it up, it really should have been a mature subject in the first place. Might make you think twice while going for a spirited drive.. The story is posted by 10 Pence Short about 2/3 down the page. Thoughts? I know I'm not an angel on the roads but please tell me the hills aren't full of the type of people I sourced this from.
  23. Can't weld, the nuts are inside a hollow in the wheel that is about 5 cm deep. Bridgestone Magil eh? Might go there for a tyre rotation and free lock nut removal
  24. I lost my key for my locknuts recently and need to get them off, apart from the "hammer socket onto nut" trick to get em off, anything easier? I don't mind getting new nuts but since they're really deep inside the wheel (Volk Challenge F-zero), getting a socket in there is going to be tough. Any recomendations? Most tyre places would be able to solve my problem right?
  25. Blocking access via .htaccess seems like a good idea, but I'd be against it. You cannot say for sure that all cops that visit these sites are bad and are out to get you. Discriminate much? I've heard of all the bad stories about defects and such but as pointed out above, theres some good people in there too! I'd propose a flag to mark them as Cops instead of blocking access, why would they have a legitimite reason to say they aren't officers? Give the something like the [has donated] tag and that way it's good PR for them, they should be representing the force in a good way and if they aren't we shoot them down! Well maybe not literally
