About the 33GTR 4WD disable...I heard only the VSPEC needed to have the driveshafts removed. Non-VSPEC has 2 fuses you pull to disable 4WD. It's on this board somewhere but I cant remember what terms to search for. -

Barbara Pease...theres even test in there that show hoe masculine or feminine you're mentality is...and it seems pretty accurate. It's basically a Psychology book for the general public...like those "**** for dummies" books. -

Nice indepth discussion here, mabe even Menza level Just noticed your sig, bonzelite...it is quite ironic now that you are splitting up your posts To add fuel to this discussion...have any of you read the book "Why men don't listen and women cant read maps?". It's an interesting look on how our minds(not brains) are wired and explains some points about evolution and such. Today's crossover sexes and the now hip image of homosexuality somewhat goes against the "general" consensus of how evolution works(or it might be that were fated to reduce our population! ). I disagree with this new train of thought and prefer the more traditional roles of male-female relationships. It doesn't have to be a totally polarised relationship but you should be able to see that the male doesn't question his manhood. Damn, call me a homo-phobic...I'll take it as a compliment! -
Retrofitting R33 or R34 Dash to R32?
ecenshu replied to lwells's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
If anyone has any info on this, I'd be really interested...I wanna hook a 34 GTR computer and that funky LCD instead of getting the Blitz R-VIT! -
Respect to the mature under 25's here! That was well written and emotive post ther Guilty! (Although you might want to paragraph it to make it easier to read). I'm now 24 and have gone through 2 cars already and waiting for my R32 GTR, I was given my first car by my parents (Toyota Corolla...old POS), I wrote that off about 8 months of owning it due to inattention. That accident really taught me how to drive and be aware of my surroundings. I then saved up for my next car, a Toytota Camry($1.5K POS ) I've owned it to this day and drive like a a gran, no crashes or traffic incidents yet (apart from parking tickets!). All through this period (7 years) I've been saving for my dream car. My personal goal was to be able to afford my dream car via my own finances before I'm 25 with room to spare and be financially free from my parents. I might have had it easy with living at home and studying + work but if you want something enough you can achieve it! The point that the older members are trying to get accoss IMO is that when young you might want to get something more conservative and relatively reliable as a mode of transport and when you can achieve financial freedom should you get something nice for yourself. A car is a burden and if you can JUST afford the car then you may regret getting it if you cant pay for petrol!

I Smashed My Gtr Real Bad.
ecenshu replied to MINES_DATSUN's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If you want shock tactics, then I suggest a flying lap around a racetrack for any "L" platers. Doesn't even have to be a high po car, any car will do...When you've been at the limit and you're not in control....then you know fear.. I don't really agree with shock tactics though, I reckon there's enough people with enoguh brains to soak up info at a drivers training course...else, they'd just fail. -

Just to throw some more fuel to the fire: I'm 24 so I wouldn't know if im in the experienced or inexperienced crowd but I do know that I will be applying for Defence Driving then Advanced Driving Courses when my R32GTR comes in(hopefully before March  ). My reasoning is that I've seen enough of my friends screw up on public roads and I'm sh*t scared of the car, but I still "want" it. I say "want" because it isn't as if you NEED a powerful car, and the difference in WANT and NEED is that it is a choice. If you can make a decision, you should be mature enough to know the consequences. Those stupid laws people are discussing are there to stop IDIOTS who cant think for themselves, be able to have the PRIVILEDGE of driving. My proposal would be for all drivers to have at least Defensive Driving under their belt before you can move into a high performance car. That would at least allow the "mature" young ones(?!?) the chance to prove they aren't HOONS. -
Expecting car in February(waiting for Canbera to approve import). I wen't through UP Imports(www.upimports.com.au), I actually found the car through the for sale section on this board .

Just Cars recently quoted me $2600 for an 89 GTR (Getting it under the old 15 year ruling...OCT cuttoff ). Famous Classic quoted $2800 which is the one I'll probably get because I can choose my repairer and pay by the month. The quotes are about a month old and I'll be getting my car in February.

What's one have to do a own a GTR R33
ecenshu replied to inasinman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Save, don't spend more than you have...and stay home on the weekends =) Geeks are in nowadays anyways, so just surf your life away between long hours and plenty of sweat/stress(depends on your job). -
This is the reason why my car won't be laving Japan till mid January(estimate) and might actually be later. I am getting so impatient now...waiting....waiting
-
Clear as mud...but it does make sense

Anyone know if the rumour about extending the 15 year rule to be greater than 15 years is true?
-
Forum is still here if you wanna gawk CLick here! Remember the price is different now due to 15 year rule instead of RAWS!
-
It's never going to be old! I'd been waiting and wishing and I've finally got my chance to own a GOD! :aroused: Been dreaming since I was 16, and saving since I was 18...so it's been a long time but DAMN its going to be worth the wait. Don't care if they're going to be more common now coz of the 15 year rule coz it's still THE GOD.
-
I was looking for a mint R32 GTR (didn't matter what year) to be brought in under RAWS (I just heard of the 15 year rule change and before they changed it so you could bring it in ONLY if bought before some cutoff date...cant remember the date:)). Just happened that the car being brought in by UPI was a test run for RAWS, but they found out about the transition period cars and I got it in under 15 years instead (which meant UPI needed a different car for the test run for RAWS). I was just very lucky!

If funkymonkey's exhaust is a regular skyline's exhaust, you'd need at least 4 bananas....i really think Genesis32 really did take english and arts I'm definitely going to treat the gal nice as well, price was good coz it was originally going to be complied under RAWS but got lucky with getting the car in the nick of time...
-
Can't break down costs as it hasn't been finalised yet...it's still in Japan. Estimated total landed with full mechanical check + major service + dyno tune ~ $23k
-
I'm getting one in, but not that early. It should be arriving mid February. I got it from Ultimate Performance Imports. The car I'm wating for is a nice black R32 GTR =) I can't wait...can't wait....CAN'T WAIT!!!

Black, coz it looks really slick and suitable as a sleeper (But a pain in the rear to keep clean) -
Where to look for wear points in used skyline?
ecenshu replied to ecenshu's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks for all the replies guys! Very good points made, especially about the mechanicals. I would rather a car that drives close to 100% than one that looks it(I guess too many of my friends are into 2F2F ) I already factored in getting a compression test, but what exactly is a leakdown test? Is it the same as pressure testing the cooling system or something else entirely? Also with a gearbox rebuild, how much would an estimate amount be? Sorry for sounding like a newb but I know about engines in general but Skylines and all the electronics are new to me!
