  1. I don't really have an exact measurement but guestimating arround 1.5-2cm between the wheel and the guard. Theres no contact between the actual guard and wheel, it's mostly the splash guard. Will get more accurate measurements a bit later.
  2. I'm wearing out the inner guard(rain guard?) on the front left side. Not sure why the right isn't affected though. This is probably due to a few things that have been changed. I was running 255x35x18's and had no tyre scrub, I then switched to 265x35x18 tyres(due to 255's not being in stock and I was desperate to get the car back on the road) and that got a little tyre scrub. After a wheel alignment that brought my castor up to 5 degrees from 3 degrees, I'm now getting some major scrub. What should I do? I've been told by a suspension mechanic to just move my front bar forward, that seems like an odd suggestion I thought. Would an extra 10mm on the tyres really make that much of a difference? Should I just remove the inner guards altogether? Or should I just get the alignment changed back to 3 degrees castor? Also, I'm now feeling kinda uncomfortable with my suspension setup(Koni Sports with Whiteline springs) it is sitting too low to be convenient as a daily driver however they are set to max ride height via the included circlip grooves. Not to mention that my kidneys are starting to feel the pinch of the rather harsh damping. I was thinking of getting the SydneyKid group buy but have no idea what ride height that would allow(I know the measurements but I've never seen it). Anyone on here running the Bilsteins on their R32 GTR?
  3. Spotted at lunch time today, Midnight Purple R33 GTR on Whitemore Square in town and a Yellow R34 GTT on Gouger, both very clean considering the crap weather lately
  4. There really hasn't been many significant gameplay changes for a while now, but then again, do games need innovation to be fun? Have you picked up and played a Wii for any amount of time? I've recently gotten back into RTS's with the release of Supreme Commander but I really don't see any major gameplay innovations for a sequel that was released 10 years after the original, it is still a lot of fun though!
  5. I've been working as a Website Developer for the last 10 years. Specialising in PHP and CSS(plus all the luggage that comes with it) and Web Application Analysis and Design I don't actually do any design at all, although I have access to some quite talented Graphic Designers and Flash Animators. I can do maintainence programming for external projects such as Wordpress, Joomla/Mambo, PDFLib, PHPBB and PEAR libraries.
  6. Your car looks clean and slick! Kinda wish I had a little more incentive to keep my car clean but black is such a PITA colour. Finally got my clutch changed to something more usable for a daily driver, currently looking at the SydneyKid group buy for suspension because I'm just tired of driving around with dud front shocks. I don't believe I'm still fixing up the car after 5 years of owning it, old cars FTW!
  7. Black one would be mine, thought I'd finally drop in and say hi again! The dark blue GTR is a recent addition to South Terrace though. On topic: Spotted Howie near at South Rd/Regency Rd intersection, although he spotted me first! Great looking car mate!
  8. What are the spring rates? Also, were these from the Group Buy that had the Bilstiens revalved by SydneyKid?
  9. What are the widths of these rotors?
  10. Guess it's about time for an update. Car is finally back on the road, I ended up getting a set of second hand rims exactly the same as my old ones (Enkei Racing S) from Yohoo Auctions Japan. I got them through Slidewize Imports and I'd definitely reccomend him for any obscure japanese parts finding! On a different note now, my car recently developed a clunking noise on the front left wheel over low speed bumps(ended up being a worn bush) and after fixing it, the suspension is now lopsided IE: left is lower than the right up front. No other things changed. What could this mean? Also, could anyone reccomend a place that specialises in suspension (NOT Pedders!)? PS: Hope to see you all on the roads again!
  11. The feeling you get from owning one sure outweigh the cost IMO. I would NOT trade my car for anything else in its pricerange...ever. Of course if I'm dreaming give me a Carrera GT!
  12. Well mine was supposed to be stockish and in good condition(according to auction reports). Now that all belts changed(ilder pulley FLEW off when boosting), clutch thrust bearing changed, 100k Km service, replaced suspension(shocks and probably bushes soon) and new tyres(got 3000km out of the ones that came on the car). I would say that I'm pretty happy with it. Fuel isn't too much of a problem but the triple plate clutch is a killer in peak hour. I would say you need to factor in at least $5k to restore your car to decent condition on any used GTR just to be safe. At least my paint, bodywork and interior are in A1 condition PS: Must do at least comression test and probably a leak down test as well. Wheel alignment to see if it really does run straight might be a good idea.
  13. Listen to these guys about the loan. You should be prepared to have about $5k "just in case" because they ARE 15 years old. I got mine through www.upimports.com There are plenty of threads on this topic as well.
  14. 375 to 450 R32GTR only exhaust done.
  15. Exact offset please? Also, could you send more pictures to [email protected]
  16. You will not be disapointed with the new logitech wheel that was designed for GT4. I have it and have played GT4 Prologue and the feeling is so "right" the extra turning radius it provides lets you feel like driving instead of playing a game. It is a bit steep though($300) but the force feedback and feel is unbelievable!
  17. Please include price as stated in the forum rules.
  18. Total cost is approaching $26K altogether, engine is fine and supposedly stock as a rock with even compression and no blowby/oil found where it's not supposed to be. Also had to change spark plugs because it was running 2 iridiums and 4 platinums?! It had a slight miss when it just starts boosting. I'm running all copper now and it has stopped the missing. One thing that is kinda bothering me is the oil pressure is on the high side after my recent oil change(Motul 5-30 Turbolight I think).
  19. Well I guess I forgot about this thread! I was supposed to give some insight to how much it costs to restore an 89 GTR and I can tell you now it isn't cheap. So far restoration/maintenace has cost in excess of $4K.This includes Koni's dampers, springs, tyres, clutch(thrust bearing) and it is now developing squeaks at low speed bumps ie: driveways. HOWEVER, I would gladly go through it all again because a GTR is a GTR and I'm VERY happy with mine(apart from my recent fight with a curb). I guess my bootom line is: Get the best one you can afford and set aside a fair chunk to restore it because it WILL need some things taken care of. I budgeted 4.5K for restoration and its getting close now.
  20. Any info? Anyone? I've been told that Buddy Club P1QF stock is out in Australia and I would have to wait till December ate the earliest. Can anyone confirm or disprove this? Thanks!
  21. How wide are they? I'm hunting for some 18's but don't want to go too wide(Got an R32 GTR). Exact offset would also be nice Very nice wheels though!
  22. Could someone point me to where I can get some Buddy Club P1 Qf's, Nismo LM GT4's or Gram Lights 57f/57f pro's for a decent price(I know they're not cheap but why pay more? ). Need to be 18x9 to 18x10 offsets between +12 and +22. Thanks!
  23. It is a small Adelaide after all...Hai is my sisters boyfriend not my girlfriends brother Car has no panel damage so just after some wheels at the moment. I don't want to drive it on the space saver! PS: A new car would be good too...anyone wanna give me a CL55? On a more serious note, does anyone know where I can get some lightweight 18's in SA?
  24. I wouldn't say it was attempting a drift...it was a low speed accident with no grip at all. Approached a bend and off boost, next thing I know I'm facing the wrong way and on the kerb. I still don't know exactly what happened but I do remember jamming the brakes! The picture was a "before" shot. The damage to the rim isn't bad and it can be rerolled but the centre is bent about 3 mm so it is wobbling and cannot be repaired. Car does not shake or vibrate with the spare on and I cannot see any other visible damage(spacesaver does make it veer to one side consistantly though). I found out the exact wheel specs though, they're Enkei Racing S's. Anyone know who distributes Rays/Volks or Buddy Clubs?
