  1. Black 89 R32 GTR. FMIC (unknown if paint stripped or aftermarket), exhaust, OS Giken triple plate clutch, 18 inch enkei 3 piece wheels and lowered springs. Still needs a lot more maintainence to get it up to my liking but getting there.
  2. Theres 2 covered screws near the front of the car and 3 at the bottom edge. 1 more behind the power windows switch and remove the handle(screw at the bottom covered by a plastic round thing). After all screws are out, theres 2-3 clips at the front and the same at the rear of the door...pull clips out or use a flathead for leverage. Then pull slightly away from door then lift.
  3. If he says GTR's are R34's only...can you sell me one for $50k! =) PS: Haven't used deduction in a while!
  4. Yep...definitely about 10 mins for the oil to reach anywhere near operating temps(thrashable temps). My drive to work takes 15 mins...I baby it for the 1st third then by that time...I'm in heavy traffic! Oh well...look forward to the weekend to stretch it's legs, for the daily grind, I'll baby her...plus it helps my fuel consumption!
  5. Nice to know! Learn something new everyday...is it right for me to assume that the lowest time on the best/biggest power lowmounts would be in the 10's then?
  6. Call me a newb in mechanical terms but WHY is it not possible to run 8's with low mount turbos? I'm sure there are some pretty kickass low mount turbos around?
  7. So far my car is at 1/4 tank left and 320 kms(haven't had it long)...roughly 15L/100Kms and there has been some "spirited" driving and a lot of city driving as well. Not too bad I guess.
  8. That is why I say there is a strong case of it not fitting because wider GTR guards and lowered with 255 scrape. The scrape is on the inner guard, so ride height may not be such a big deal. I would guess that at the minimum, you could fit them if you rolled your guards.
  9. Well I guess I wont spare it any 8000RPM launches now Just need to build up the courage, and definitely off street too! (Anyone know any "private" roads? ;p) Idle isn't lumpy so no cams(or maybe not that agressive), guess I'll find out whats inside when I need to do something...in the meantime, guess I'll just get used to living with the original Godzilla. Martin: I'm not disilusioned about the wound back speedo, I;m just happy the interior doesn't have any rips and the indicator stalks aren't white and the dash isn't cracked...but it does show its age in the speakers. The rubber surround dissintegrated when I touched it. As far as I know if it was built to be driven hard, then I will put it to use! (Glad the jap owner agreed too, who needs "posers"?)
  10. BTW: Thanks for the comments guys! Really appreciate it!
  11. Yeah, was wondering what the car HAD to deem the use of a triple plate...haven't looked INSIDE the engine for obvious reasons but I really can't see anything special in the car mods-wise. I know it had a timer(holes under the dash) and aftermarket stereo coz the wires were butchered...seems the previous owner went to the trouble of hear shielding the brake+oil lines( I think...back right of engine bay). Only reason I can think of why its in there is its overkill!
  12. It may not clear the front guards based on my car (18x10 255x35x18 all round), I have scrub at about 90% lock but my car is excessively low.
  13. Ummm...am I allowed to this one? I'm not sure coz the other one had the rules amended to include me...now im just confused! :blah:
  14. I've had the 2 week syndrome as well when I brought in my car, all due to slow government departments holding it up. You just have to be patient, it pays off in the end.
  15. :werd: A cruise with more R's out would be good but why exclude other 'lines? It's not good to bring in a line to draw and seperate SAU.
  16. Update on clutch: Was thrust bearing, very worn and getting it replaced. Also had good news about it! The clutch is an OS Giken triple so I'm pretty happy with a bonus to the car, but theres bad news as well. Just found out my rear left shock is leaking so I'm gonna be looking at new ones in the near future...just waiting for more $$
  17. I'm pretty sure there should be a fair few GTR's in SA, seen a couple around myself!
  18. How about not allocating points to any thread in the wasteland at all...will cut down on whoring coz mods can jump in and mark "whore" threads that are meant to be in relevent sections ie automotive?
  19. Had a clsoer look at my hinges and the pin is definitely worn. The door moves about 1-2 cm vertically when I lift it from the handle. Would I need a whole new hinge assembly or can I disasemble the hinge and replace the pin?
  20. Credit where credit is due: It is a damn nice car for the money, and what choice do you have at that range new? Not much...good choice mate!
  21. You guys might have to hear it in person, people look at my car all the time...not coz its an nice skyline but I see them turn their heads when I engage my clutch. It really is load, My friend commented to me when he was standing by my car that it sounds louder than my engine+exhaust (at 4K launch)
  22. Both my doors still close rather solidly, just needs extra force coz they don't line up with the latches properly. The clang maybe a loose window rail inside the door, my previous car had a clanging sound when closing and it turned out that one of the rubber dameners on the glass was brittle. Hope that helps!
  23. Would you be able to find out exactly what stud pattern and offset these rims are? I have a friend looking for 18 chromies for a MY97 WRX, he needs 5x100 40+ offset.
  24. Dagnamit! Oh well, guess I better clean out the garage so I can fit more cars in the property
  25. My extension from the road is quite long. I can fit my car on it without blocking the footpath. Question can I be fined for parking on the extension? IE: Same as parking it on the lawn between my house and the road...but its concrete
