Low Volume Scheme for New Vehicles : INTRODUCTION Before a vehicle can be registered in Australia for the first time it must be fitted with an Identification Plate (Compliance Plate). The "manufacturer" who is the person or company taking responsibility for the vehicle being modified to meet the required Australian Design Rules (ADRs) may affix an Identification Plate to a vehicle if an approval has been issued by the Administrator of Vehicle Standards under the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989. NEW VEHICLES The Low Volume Scheme for new vehicles allows for the supply to the market of up to 25 or 100 vehicles per year per vehicle category. The Scheme provides a major concession in that it allows alternative forms of evidence to be submitted against some of the ADRs. In the main this applies to ADRs where destructive or expensive testing is required. The type of evidence required is detailed in the Evidence Examination Procedures Manual [PDF: 184 KB]. The Low Volume Scheme for new vehicles is limited to vehicle make/models that are on the Register of Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicles (the Register). The eligibility requirements for entry on the Register are set out in Regulation 24 of the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations 1989 and in the Administrator of Vehicle Standards Circular 0-2-12. For the Register and information on eligibility go to the Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicle Scheme (SEVS) Eligibility. But he may have just got a free Junket to flog the snot out of one these babies at Nissan Australia’s expense......

Cejay This is the ruling for brakes by the RTA. Safety Check Standards Brakes Rule 101 Light Vehicles Rules for Authorised Inspection Stations Nov 2005 101.01 Check the operation of the brake controls Reasons for rejection a) on rubber faced brake pedals, any metal is showing; b) on metal brake pedals, there is no anti-slip surface; c) missing or broken brake pedal or handle; d) when the service brakes are firmly applied, less than 20% of the pedal travel remains; e) when steady pressure is applied to the service brake pedal for 10 seconds, the pedal travels towards the floor; f) where ADR 31 or 35 applies, the brake failure warning light does not operate when the ignition is turned on, and the engine is either not running or the starter motor is engaged; g) the parking brake ratchet or locking device is not holding the parking brake lever in its applied position. h) (if fitted with ABS), the ABS self test/failure warning lamp does not operate when the ignition is turned on, and the engine is either not running or the starter motor is engaged; i) the ABS or brake fail warning lamp remains on when the engine is running or comes on when the brake is applied (with the engine running); 101.02 Inspect the condition of visible brake components. NOTE: This includes the area underneath the vehicle. Brakes Rule 101 Light Vehicles Rules for Authorised Inspection Stations Nov 2005 Reason for rejection a) where visible, any brake component is leaking or is not securely mounted b) any hydraulic brake hose where, if when the brake pedal is held depressed, the intermediate reinforcement fabric of the hose is exposed or the hose swells or bulges. NOTE: Cracked or split outer casing on the hose is not reason for rejection. 101.03 Service brake test with a decelerometer NOTE: i) Decelerometer standards should be read in conjunction with the equipment specifications in Appendix B1 and the equipment manufacturer's specification. ii) On some vehicles with light axle loads, or when testing in wet weather, it might be difficult to obtain a brake test result because of wheel lockup. In these cases the pedal pressure should be reduced to a point where only the minimum specified deceleration rates are achieved. Set up a suitable decelerometer in the vehicle cabin. With the vehicle unladen, drive it to at least 30 km/h. Put the transmission into neutral. With both hands on the steering wheel, bring the vehicle to a halt as rapidly as possible in a safe manner with one sustained and smooth braking action using the service brakes. Reasons for rejection a) the application of the brakes causes the vehicle to swerve from a straight line path; b) the service braking system decelerates the vehicle at less than the performance requirement specified in Table 1 or 1a. The RTA basically wants a brake test performed after a visual inspection. So if the rotors have gone undersize, 1/4 of the brake pads are left, no leaks and the car passes the brake test, its ok. Another point you may have to prove is was the vehicle not ok at the time of inspection. Good luck

My apologies Steve, I think I have got you mixed up with someone else. I don’t need the ins and outs in fact I don’t want to know. My main concern is yet again Skylines get a worse name. Well answered, Thanks.

Thats right I got off subject The BOV the louder the better, you should be able to get the car to stall at every stop. Sorry Dude the best way to get your new toy going is to get it into a track day. PM Fatz has one on soon or search the EVENT Forum. Put the money into learning how to drive instead of mods.

Well done B Man. My boss had 2 of them. If you want to chew even more fuel go for the Amemiya ECU. Nothing like a 300+ hp lounge chair. The only issue I had was the pissy little brakes. Maybe it was just ours but they where crap when you thumped it, come to think of it so is the GTR..... it's just me. If you want the "20B Twin Turbo" badge for the back it's sitting in my tool box, I knocked it off the car before some other little arse wipe did. With the new exhaust, I hope you fixed the catalytic converter(SSSS) issue.

Who Likes Track Days? Who's Scared Of 'em? Who Can't Afford It?
Nathan replied to Abo Bob's topic in New South Wales
Abo, Excuse WHAT DID YOU EXPECT I agree100 & 10%. I don’t understand, the scared will tell you without reservation on how quick there car is “on the street”, BIG DEAL. I love the idea that someone is willing to have a go against themselves, and there within lies some truth. The track days are about proving your ability to learn a skill, not your car to learn a skill, (Does a puppy get smatter at puppy school or does the master learn how to train a puppy?). This is where most run away, with poor excuses about the performance of there cars to hide themselves. The scared are comfortable to flog the snot out of their cars on the street where we have traffic lights, on coming traffic, parked cars on the side of the road, pedestrians, Police, School mums bumped up on valium sandwiches or even better in the late evening or early morning where pissed people are primed targets. The person that drops the excuses and gets out there has just seen another world….poor buggars will now spend bulk on the true performance parts ie brakes & suspension. They also learn a few new words like apex, tyre pressure, over & under steer & worst of all when’s the next day on. I am no good driver, but I will say that getting on the track is the best fun. From my personal experience, the best fun I have had in a car on the track is my old Skyline not quick but fun and that’s the important part, you are not against anyone else until you are really hooked. And stacking your car (even with ‘P” plate exception here), Search this forum and the news papers & then tell me that more per capita stack on the tack than on the roads….. This is my thesis without a fourth drink or an education: Get out, enjoy, have fun & frighten the crap out of yourself before crap frightens YOU. -
Ed you may need a few more bits. The issue is that some are easy to convert back. Some have only had one control unit removed, some (majority of QLD complied cars) have the base of the lamp cut & the second unit removed from inside the assembly not that easy to reinstall. Some I have seen have had the entire globe base removed. And finally some have a flat insert that if the compliance company doing their job, they should have bent the reflectors in. Additionally, you’re only playing with about 400 volts so make sure it’s well insulated.
-
PM me if you are serious, I’ve done a few hundred R34 lights. But be warned, some of the conversions are done buy butchers & your better off buying a China/Thai kit for H1 globes.

actually that's where the doubt is... is it before the Act is actually amended sometime in March (as per the FAQ which says that the 15 year rule still applies till that date) OR is it any car paid for in part or whole prior to the 7th of Feb. I'm faily certain its the latter. It's financial commitment, I buy from auction in Japan, the same thing happened to me with month by month last year. My word at the auction house is financial commitment. So as fom today..... you have 52 min left!!!!
