  1. yep it starts gently but gets painful quickly if training for strength you want to be fully recovered for each of your heaviest sets... it can be 5 min or longer... you want to approach the set with 100% effort and focus... it's a bit of a balance between recovering fully and getting cold (which isn't much of an issue at the moment)
  2. good work! I have no problem with the pauses, not sure what the big deal is... I reckon its harder when you rest, you lose all tension and have to complete the rep from a dead hang
  3. great lifting all round
  4. he must've had some Ribena
  5. that's one badass panda... I'm off to find a bamboo shoot supplement
  6. I don't even drink his water... always train with a bottle filled with delicious Ribena... for its crazy anabolic effects lol best supplement ever
  7. lol Mitch: definitely mate... there's really no fancy tricks to it other than using proper equipment and being surrounded by people that are stronger than you... I'm just doing PPP, no secret squirrel programs or crazy assistance exercises... if I feel good I add some more volume and weight... if I feel average I just grind out the program for the day bench press is the one I've been really focussing on as I'm well behind most lifters... even guys much lighter than me... I'm pressing as much and as heavy as my shoulders will allow... if they start hurting I take a day off but otherwise I'm pressing every session... getting 3 x 110 pretty easily now... moving my grip out slowly
  8. lovely form! nohomo
  9. yep 180 at ProRaw... no wraps or belt but in a pair of Do Wins I was feeling strong yesterday, was tempted to throw on some more weight and go for a single rep PR but will wait a week or two before I start doing singles training by yourself is hard... training with strong people around gives you extra motivation... I'm definitely making better progress switching my training to PTC... that and I've pretty much been on holiday since christmas lol
  10. practiced squatting in the wraps again (just belt) 3 x 155 3 x 155 (belt and wraps) 3 x 170 3 x 180 (PR) getting the hang of them... also tried low bar position but didn't like it... not flexible enough and it hurts my wrists/hands
  11. yeah I had a chuckle, you do make me laugh! Kal reckons I train at PTC just to talk shit to you and the boys lol strong as fck that kid I'll come in tomorrow to do some wrapped squats
  12. didn't get his face in that one?
  13. interesting choice of challenge for a tall, heavy bloke... this one suited to the lighter guys... I used to be able to do 20+ but reckon I'll struggle with anything over 15 at the moment
  14. I like that you had another crack... more weight, more reps, good work
  15. yep... as you say strong is strong I have short arms... my nickname is T Rex... still can't bench to save my life
  16. huge! you can see how Martin's leverages make for an easier deadlift... not taking away from the fact that he's also freakishly strong
  17. yeah personalised plates just attract a lot of unwanted attention... car is obnoxious enough without them... say hi for sure, I've been following your build, loving your work:)
  18. see told you, set the bar high... nice lifting seriously though WTF crappy bar/plates are you using!? basically doing deads from a deficit every rep due to the small diameter of the plates lol... you could've propped them up on something
  19. there's a few people pretty close to 25 reps though... good to set the bar high, it's just for fun but if he's excluded himself then fair enough... I won't be trying again... I was sore yesterday lol
  20. technically Husky won... why is he excluded? so the goal is actually 25 reps... by Friday... yes or no?
  21. thread title is 'Post your ideal physique'... Her physique is one I'd ideally like to have squat in front of me... naked... while I spot... naked
  22. and when I say 'much better equipment' I mean proper pro bars, plates etc... not the garbage at 99% of gyms... once you use the real deal it's pretty difficult to go backwards
  23. Used to train at the St Kilda PCYC... now at PTC Frankston still train in St Kilda once a week but am mostly at the PTC this year... much better equipment and someone's always there to give advice, spot etc I'm currently working from home so have time to head down there during the week... not sure how long that will last but it's ideal at the moment
  24. I think the next comp should be curls...
  25. you have a point now to get back on topic
