  1. more stickers... you clearly don't have enough stickers
  2. ...I plan on changing the oil... maybe...
  3. few hangovers in here guys... I live right on Dandy just up from Chapel and am in the skyline every day... I am hardly ever hassled and that kind of thing is actually pretty rare... sure guys like to give it some throttle now and then and look at you all gangsta in their VR with bog and filler everywhere but mostly its all cool... however there are the odd heros and you just have to let them go and hope they don't f*ckin crash into you
  4. you have to ask how it is running so lean with the stock ecu and no piggyback... my tip would be dying fuel pump
  5. don't listen to me then! sorry Bec I was told "It is a wrx club requirement that you do DT if you have not done any track work previously." but yeah its worth it anyway
  6. just check your insurance... it would be a shame if you were paying out the a$$ for insurance and then you wrote the car off and the insurance company won't pay because you are driving a restricted car... ...but I am sure all you P platers have checked with your insurance companies already...............
  7. with the WRX club it is compulsory that you do the driver training if you have not been on track before... its simply another group that's made up of first timers.... and you go out with an experienced member of the WRX club in the passenger seat... then if your really nice they may let you go out by yourself towards the end of the day... its good fun... do it;)
  8. I was going to do the Maser day Roy... but then again I have never been round Calder so that could be fun too... either way I might go with the masses and see if I can't talk some resident trackspert into coming for a ride with me and teaching me how to steer
  9. ah okay... well its your driving then! 3,500 is too much in my opinion... try about 2,500 and when the light goes green dont drop the clutch, ride it out slowly as you keep your right foot pinned to the floor... if you feel too much wheelspin ease the clutch out slower, if you feel it start to bog drop it quicker etc etc... change at 6,500 - 7000 trying not to hit the limiter, changing slightly early is better than smashing the limiter... your power curve flattens out at about 6,000 anyway... make sure your changes are nice and crisp and you should see the 13's no worries
  10. from the look of your sig the rear of your car is too low... very hard with the IRS to get traction when it's that low, no room for squat or weight transfer also are you running any kind of fuel controller? if you are running those mods off the stock ecu it will be way too rich, esp. with an aftermarket pump in there
  11. nice rims mine isn't quite as low as yours tho;)
  12. ooooh now that is a dangerous statement... and i have 2 words for you 'natural selection' You CANNOT protect people from themselves and you shouldn't... you can only educate people and then step back and hope they make the right decisions... and if they don't, let's hope to god they live to fight another day and learn from their mistakes If you are constantly protecting people from themselves they lose their ability to behave as an individual and make their own choices... so what you are saying is people are free to make their own choices as long as in your opinion they are the right choices... sounds pretty fascist to me
  13. as a daily driven tire the Azenis 615 is awesome... good on the track too however I have nothing really to compare them with... treadware is pretty damn good too, I have done a track day, a motorkhana and driven a couple of thousand road kays on them and they still have heaps of meat... they definately aren't in the league of r compound tires for grip but are a pretty good compromise
  14. ditto^^ so it isn't the same as the one in the pics in your sig? ie. it doesn't sit flush?
  15. NZ is great... the public liability system isn't setup the same so you can run all kinds of adventure business... when I was in Wanaka (ski town, south island near queenstown) a couple of years ago there was a crazy south african ex stunt/rally driver who had a park with monster trucks, buggies, 4 trax, trail bikes, rally cars you name it they had it... and you could drive/ride them all and it wasn't anywhere near as expensive as you would imagine... they also run one of the best freestyle snowboard parks in the world and can do it comparitively cheaply due to their liability laws... ...but yeah you have my support Geoff, I think its a great idea on many levels
  16. the scary thing is once new legislation like this is passed it is VERY RARELY rolled back... even once the threat has subsided the laws will remain in place to be abused and used out of context... ...its a classic knee jerk reaction... sh!t we need to do something... I know we will just sit here and write laws and make it look like we are working on the problem when all were really trying to do is avoid putting up money for better education... governments only ever think of the short term or more accurately whenever the next election is
  17. why on the dash of course! like any good ricer eheheh
  18. GT = Grand Touring ...so go tour
  19. bah holden or not.... you just have to be Aussie
  20. theage.com.au sad day for Aussie motorsport... and his family of course
  21. your not helping... he knows he should have had insurance so stop reminding him! I will keep a look out... is there any chance they knew what was under the hood before they stole it? I mean less of a chance of them stealing a stock looking 17yr old car but what if they knew it had a 20 grand engine package? who knows your car etc... its a longshot but worth having a think about...
  22. yep I didn't even think we were going to get times but we did... DT was fine just a slower group and you had one of the club guys in the car with you... they told me to go out solo in the last session... scored my fastest lap on my last lap of the day
  23. how are the Maserati days... do they usually get the full quota of cars? will an ugly silver whale be shunned in favour of all things fast red and Italian? (ie are they a good natured bunch or are they a bit serious) I want to get back to Sandown and see if I can't better my PB, good fun and so close to town compared to other tracks...
  24. A PEARL of wisdom! where were you when I was looking for clean and stock! I must admit choosing all the bits etc yourself is fun but you can save a boatload of cash by buying an intelligently modded example... I have seen some killer cars getting let go for great prices on this forum over the years
  25. Iv'e got tomei cams in there so I was hoping with a fresh motor and cams the GTRS would get me to 300... seriously been looking at the Pro S too... ... still, I do want twins for some reason... don't know why but twin GTSS's or N1's floats my boat... they sound so nice spooling up and would work really well on a GTSt with lots of sticky rubber and good suspension bits ...its Friday I'm allowed to dream lol
