  1. double demerits! i didn't even know... must have had my head buried in the sand for the last week! right now I feel no pain... love that codeine...
  2. great, i have just fractured my forearm bone at the elbow playing basketball... doc has given me 3 weeks with my arm in a sling and of course i can't drive my car (left arm) it looks like i will miss the upcoming DECA day, which I was really looking forward to :kick: everytime i think i have my car ready to do an event, some problem comes up and i miss out... this time my car was already to go... and now i have a broken arm will be catching the train to work... again so if anybody has an auto r33 they wanna swap for my 5sp for a couple of weeks let me know;)j/k have a good long weekend guys (and girls)... drive safe
  3. good advice :uh-huh: even if all you get to do is unbolt stuff and clean parts... it can be a positive experience
  4. oh the pain... a stock internal motor at 9000rpm... ouch and I don't think 13psi through a HKS turbo could be classified as stock boost... it would be flowing a lot more air than the stock turbo at 13psi... correct me if I am wrong please back the tune off a bit and spend some money on mods to keep the engine alive and the car out of the trees... all that aside it sounds like an awsome setup, I am leaning heavily towards a similar setup and I can't wait;)
  5. faxing entry in now...yay! Just to confirm CAMS licence can be organised on the day? hopefully I won't spin out on the back track like I did last time... in front of 20 commodore drivers... ...and I got NO applause! PS. how do I find out my SAU membership number? is there somewhere on this site where I can find it?
  6. the NEO must have better airflow than the 33 RB25... I had the 256's installed and whilst there was no power gain it was noticably smoother (better curve) and it made power all the way to redline instead of dropping off... nicer exhaust note too oh and it made the same power at .1bar less so yeah I have no answers just more questions... SK what say thee ps. definately not a bang for buck mod
  7. had to jump start my car the other day... with an old Datto... had to rev the snot out of the little datto motor to get my car to fire!
  8. yeah but its kinda uncool for DJ's to use them ... you don't really need one, thats what the headphones are for here is another car analogy... learning with a bpm counter is like learning to drive on the track with slicks
  9. he he I would never be brave enough to suggest that... he is a very big man, wouldn't be surprised if I walked in there and Ben was carring an RB26 around on his shoulder! :headspin:
  10. yeah Ben is a top bloke! pitty its so far out of my way or I would always go there... the workshop is sooo clean!
  11. btw some nasty holes in those graphs you listed PaulR33... time for a power fc for some of those guys
  12. I maybe wrong here but what if some guys were running more advanced timing than others? maybe tuners are getting better at running them closer to the threshold? or it maybe that tuners like to give high figures to keep customers happy? I am not sure but I made 14 rwkw less AFTER a rebuild with cams added... the higher figure was in SO mode and the lower was not... but I am completely happy as my AFRs are much better now and the timing is much more conservative... and it feels every bit as quick
  13. bottom end rebuild forged pistons tomei 256º cams EBC @ 10psi SAFC full 3.5" (stock dump) stock cooler (Hybrid kit waiting to go on) stock turbo NOT in shootout mode 166rwkw as an example I got 178rwkw before the rebuild with a tired motor, in SO mode
  14. thanks, yeah I was really just toying with the idea... I usually pay someone else to do my dirty work..lol I don't trust myself to cut anything... I barely manage to bolt and unbolt things!
  15. yeah thats my car in sig so we have the same front bar and I have the same cooler kit as you... could you send me some pics of your install? I am also running 10.5psi and have a SAFC so am hoping to push somewhere near 200rwkw with the Hybrid kit... have you upgraded your fuel pump? did you install it yourself? I am toying with the idea... however I am not the most patient person when it comes to mechanical things...
  16. did you have to hack the front bar to fit the Hybrid kit Munna?
  17. I have a friend who is a bit eccentric and is an electronics obsessed Dick Smith employee... he has a loudspeaker and siren set up in his engine bay, he has a mic in the car that is connected to the loudspeaker... funny shit, especially when your driving along and hear a siren behind you followed by a loud voice telling you to pull over... only to look in the mirror and all you can see is a shitty beat up old mazda 626...
  18. ah okay... sort of like when I have my ebc turned on and boost starts later but builds quicker... (I believe this is referred to as seting the 'gain'... ?) I have a rebuilt motor with forgies and tomei cams so I have better than average response... I just don't want to dull it by slapping on a cooler that is too big... I guess I'll have to try it and see;)
  19. this is what I would have thought, the pipework is awfully big in the Hybrid kit... how much lag did you notice with the greddy unit siksII? are we talking like 500rpm later than stock or ??
  20. I have very similar mods to you and have just bought one of the new Hybrid cooler kits off someone on the forums and was initially worried that it was too big... but you don't have any extra lag? has it hurt the response at all? hey chris keep your eye on the for sale section, you can't go wrong with the brand name jap kits, they mostly bolt straight up... just be sure the size of the cooler and piping matches your level of modification
  21. do you happen to know the spring rates? Did a search but they come with several different spring rates depending on what you need them for etc...
  22. lol...Federals in the wet... better be paying attention! in the dry they grip okay if you want to go in a straight line... forget about corners... make lots of smoke though:) michelin pilot sports get my vote, even when secondhand they run rings around the Federals (thanks ZigenGT)
  23. It sure does:) and Ash, your car really sounds like its got aftermarket cams?
