  1. you should be banned for posting that pic during the loooong painful wait between lunch and dinner fck I'm hungry
  2. that's why I posted it with the thread title
  3. did you actually read the article or just skim it for the bit you disagreed with? he is talking about novices increasing their general strength before trying to work on conditioning... it is aimed at beginners and the average joe looking to get 'in shape' I have no idea about military training practices... but let's not allow it to cloud the important point increasing strength also increases conditioning
  4. yeah I know, was just yankin ya chain
  5. lol too busy calculating your macros?
  6. one of the best general fitness articles I've ever read, by one of the premier strength and conditioning coaches in the world I could've posted it in the Gym thread but it is too good to be buried there http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/conditioning_is_a_sham
  7. I'm sorry but I don't understand... I'm not familiar with the term "a week of sexual inactivity"?
  8. yeah they lost me when they put the wired up underpants on different people
  9. cheers... you look in great shape but I'm not surprised with the volume of work you do every week! I couldn't keep up I started powerlifting this year so going to pursue that... training is adjusted to suit but its pretty close to how I was training anyway... just more volume/weight every session starts with a lower body heavy compound movement (squats, deadlifts, cleans etc)... this usually takes up half the session, coupled with some assistance movements... (box jumps, good mornings, back extensions, RDL, lunges etc) then followed by a couple of upper body heavy compound movements... usually alternating between push, pull (bench press, overhead press, pull ups, rows etc) lastly I do some isolation and prehab stuff... if I have time/energy... usually a combination of light dumbbells and cables (face pulls, reverse flyes, laterals etc)... mostly for the shoulders every now and then I do some brocurling
  10. FIGJAM: getting there slowly... keep eating! If I were you I'd PM Simon (Husky33) and ask him how he trained and what he ate... and then do exactly that! far too many abs in this thread... I'm jelly... I hope you all eat too much over Christmas and get fat lol
  11. lol it may or may not be better for your own wellbeing... but I can guarantee its better for everyone else around you food, sleep and sex... if I don't get enough I become a rage monster... Hulk smash! many fighters abstain before fights... claiming it keeps them focused... I reckon it just makes them angry... which probably works too
  12. I have a terrible before pic... from about 2 years ago... but I can't bring myself to post it
  13. I was going to ask someone to shoot a pic but thought that's not really in the spirit of the selfies thread... so after 100 shots of the top of my head or one fckn arm I managed to get a couple of decent ones... yeah I'm a hairy bastard taking a photo of your own back has to rank among the top ten most difficult things a human can attempt... seriously included a bi flex for the ladies... yeah I know, try and control yourselves lol
  14. whoa! you look like a heroin addict in the first shot and a superhero in the next... nice work
  15. yes best Test booster?... ...squats! lol
  16. cold showers have been shown to increase testosterone http://artofmanliness.com/2010/01/18/the-james-bond-shower-a-shot-of-cold-water-for-health-and-vitality/
  17. +1 needs some more size in his back... then definition won't be an issue
  18. yeah solid improvement for a few months... keep it up mate! love the expression of concentration on OP's face... someone needs to show me how you take a decent selfie... they didn't offer a selfie class at school when I was there... like they do now... apparently;)
  19. glad you increased your food intake... your diet wasn't really sustainable long-term... I was going to post that you needed to eat more but I know it sounds counter-intuitive don't know if you saw this I posted in the other thread but definitely worth a read http://startingstren...ive_gillian.pdf
  20. I guess when your one of the greatest of all time you can get away with shit like that
  21. Do I remember correctly that Suleymanoglu broke a couple of WR at that comp? Awesome, can't wait to have a go with that bar... assuming Max's weightlifting sessions are a bit brutal? sounds like something I'd enjoy
  22. sorry, just that man boobs comment set me off lol look of course your skin sags and gravity has an effect but your talking about your 50's and 60's... really not something you should be worrying about... tell your Mrs she should be more worried about her ass my reaction to 'chest work' is simple... train movements not muscles... concentrate on pushing or pressing and the chest will take care of itself... you should be mixing up your sets and reps too... don't just blindly go into the gym and do 3 sets of 8 every time... sometimes you should do more sets of lower reps... sometimes less sets of higher reps etc otherwise Terry makes some good point about hormones... keep your testosterone up with good diet and resistance training and bitch tits will stay away... no titty flab = no sagging muscle does not turn to fat and vice versa
  23. love Olympic lifting... My old man took me to the World Champs in Melbourne years ago... saw Suleymanoglu lift... I was about 12 but remember it pretty clearly I actually like watching weightlifting more than powerlifting... watched most of the Londons olympics lifting unfortunately my mobility is garbage... I can't even overhead squat properly so full snatch is out... never tried a power snatch as I don't think they'd appreciate me dropping the barbell at my gym... I power clean a fair bit... obviously don't go much heavier than about 90kg as I don't want to drop the bar... usually I do sets of 5 hang cleans at about 70-80kg I also can't front rack the bar properly as my wrists aren't flexible enough... although I'm working on this with some light front squatting I'd love to much around with oly lifts with some chalk, bumper plates and a decent bar... average gym bars don't spin properly maybe I could come down for a session with Armando Markos? would be happy to pay for his services etc
  24. Please tell me your trolling? I don't even know where to start... man boobs are caused by fat... don't get fat and you'll be fine 'chest work' '3 sets of 8' 'BF measured on digital scales'... have you read nothing in this section!?
