I'm always in and out in an hour... usually 6-8 exercises, average 4 sets each (more for big movements, less for iso stuff)... I get bored waiting around to do the next set... when I'm training with my bro-in-law we push the other guy to jump right in as soon as we finish a set, no standing around... and I don't like to get cold (no heating in my gym)
-
yep bodyweight OHP for reps is pretty badass I'll just leave this here... so we can all feel like tiny humans
-
I have a similar problem, mate owns the burger shop 2min walk from my place... and they deliver
-
holy shit dude, what happened to chicken soup and vitamins lol... the local pizza place must love you!
-
they're 2 different exercises... if you use leg drive your doing a push press... no leg drive and strict form is an overhead press... if someone says they're doing an overhead press but driving it up with their legs it's not cheating... they're just stupid
-
That's pretty close to my transformation actually... except I'm still at the middle pic stage... and its taken me at least twice as long... and I'm hairier lol
-
its doable though... has taken me 2-3yrs of just changing little things here and there and slowly scaling up my work outs, finding what works best... if you don't try and do it overnight, work it into your routine and just aim to be consistent... I still go out for dinner, drink beers on the weekends and enjoy myself... progress might be quicker if your really strict but I don't want to be a miserable c*nt with no social life!

I hadn't trained heavy for 2 weeks due to the flu... did 4 sets of squats 12 x 60kg, 12 x 80kg, 10 x 100kg, 8 x 120kg... and I can hardly walk! your log is laughing at my pussyness lol fck it, I'm going to just train back today... makes me feel better about myself hahaha your diet is crazy too... impressed at the organization... I eat very similar to the pic you posted but I'm nowhere near as calculated about it... good work, will be keen to see how you progress

good point

most of this stuff is just practice... the more you do it the better you get at it... as I only do 2 heavy lifting sessions a week I rotate through exercises, which means sometimes I won't do a lift for a few weeks... guaranteed the weight I can handle is less than when I last did it and I need to repeat it for a few sessions in a row to bring it back up no point comparing yourself with people who are in there benching (or whatever lift it is) 2 or 3 times a week I like the idea of a bodyweight OHP... I can do 5 - 6 reps of 60kg but never tried to handle more as its not the safest movement lol... might try and work up to safely repping 70kg, then maybe if I haven't dropped it on my head I can go for 80kg push press is also a great lift for getting used to heavy weight above your head... leg drive isn't cheating its just a different exercise... good whole body movement

well done! your squat volume is out of control... how you walking today!?
-
genetics... we'll see what they look like at 33... probably still pretty decent, bastards lol I could eat whatever I wanted in my teens and early 20's... drink, party, not train... then something happened and I woke up one day a fat bastard lol ...and its a hard road back!
-
Not really an issue of doing it wrong, it just means your mobility isn't good... tight hip flexors etc will pull the pelvis forward at the bottom of a squat Birds: tuck just means you lose the arch/flat lower back and your butt dissappears and 'tucks' under... also known as 'butt wink'... you tube it
-
the difference is noticable immediately, no need to be dissappointed!

yep amazing how someone with a terrible diet who doesn't eat any veggies suddenly feels better when they start eating veggies... but of course human nature dictates they must swing completely to the opposite extreme and declare meat is evil and consume a diet of nothing but veggies... eastern philosphy has been promoting balance for centuries but the only things that get our attention in western culture are extremes... when will we learn sorry to whore your thread BTW... good work on the weight loss, not an easy task when you have health issues
-
great post definitely something not right with your back to still be sore a week later... but I agree I find DL the most taxing of all the lifts... closely followed by powercleans and the variations... both require a lot of concentration which tires me mentally
-
Yeah this is good advice I spread mine out a little more as I have a few other go to movements I like that are real drainers... weighted pull ups/dips, heavy bent over rows or t-bar rows and explosive movements done with kettlebells or dumbbells/barbells... more athletic orientated stuff for speed not just all strength, although that is always the base that the program is designed around Tue I squatted with bench press and pullups etc... yesterday I started with powercleans, supersetted with OHP then into bent over rows etc... next it might be DL followed by some dumbbell pressing movements, dips (I try not to do too many pull movements after DL as my grip is usually shagged) anyway enough whoring... back to quadzilla's training log;)
-
I never squat and DL in the same session, the lower back pump is too much
-
20 x 120... shit my legs hurt just reading that lol I went 10 x 120 on Tue and was absolutely spent! I had to have a little sit down... totally agree with your post above, you get out what you put in... you can see how much work you put into squatting and the results are there... also helps you surround yourself with really strong guys which keeps you hungry and pushing yourself I really didn't want to go today but as I only train 3 x week I can't afford to miss a session... felt flat but went as hard as possible, just dropped the weight a bit... a average work out is better than none at all... and guess what, NOBODY in the gym today, was like a ghost town... if you can drag yourself there even when the weather is crap and you don't want to go outside thats more than half the battle won the rest is being brave enough to fail... sometimes you will just put too much weight on the bar and miss... but you never know if you just go and do the same thing every time... who cares if you look like a tool... you won't look stupid when you can make that weight keep it up... I come in here to motivate myself to squat lol
-
not at all... sounds like you've actually done your research and have taken all the proper precautions... the fact that it's such a headache to do properly is an indication of why it cops a bad wrap... I can imagine many young guys can't be bothered to do it correctly... your obviously at a huge advantage working in the industry and sounds like you approached it with a level head that said I still think it's a pointless waste of time and money for someone who is just training as a hobby but that's just my personal opinion
-
cheers for sharing that mate, good to hear from someone without a bias either way... have to say though 'My testes started to feel tender around week 6' that would've made me stop real quick! lol
-
I think that's unfair to those guys that have trained clean and enter natural comps... too much of a gray area to say well if you haven't been using in the last few months you can enter... if you've used PEDs to build your physique then you shouldn't be allowed to enter natural comps at all... just my 2c impossible to enforce though... hence why I think its lame that guys cheat the honour system
-
not quite sure what your saying there... I assume your saying there's still classes for drug free athletes? I used to think BB was way ahead of the times by acknowledging drug use and setting up another competition for drug free athletes... but if the guys who do the natural comps are just cycling off before they get tested or just cheating the tests it makes a mockery of the whole system... and is incredibly, incredibly lame
-
cheating at a natural BB comp is the fckn lamest thing I've ever heard...
-
don't understand why you'd spend your hard earned on gear if your not competing at an elite level... but then again I don't know why people who don't compete spend money on supplements (just my opinion and yes I know I'm in the minority here) plus most guys on the gear look bloated and ridiculous... if your just in it for aesthetics muscle obtained quickly has a puffiness/softness to it... when you see the truly strong guys who have been training for years they look like they've been carved out of stone... like they'd be at home in the dark ages, swinging a battleaxe at some poor chumps head... not like some puffed up, weak ass, poser, who looks so top heavy a stiff breeze would blow them over... and they wouldn't be able to get up because they'd just done 3 hrs of bicep curls and couldn't move their arms
