yeah I said the same thing, just longer and less likely to be read... I was bored

I was thinking that too! not really fair to run the drag race in the wet, but that Jag didn't stand a chance in the dry either sooo composed on the lap, eerily similar to the way Mr Bean drove his lap... I guess smooth is fast, damn, that's just no fun! The GTR looks like ridiculous fun in the wet... they should have a 1 make series with standard GTRs... all run on ice/snow in Sweden lol

Dan's post is good but is also a bit biased IMHO I do agree with Birds that its a great way to start out for beginners, get the basic lifts down pat first... ...however, there can be lessons learnt from ALL the major weightlifting sports including bodybuilding... in fact olympic lifting is even more effective at building practical strength that can be used in other areas/sports than power lifting at the end of the day powerlifting and strongman style stuff is rubbish at helping with agility and muscle endurance... just take a look at the world's strongest man (Mariusz Pudzianowski) and his attempt to enter the world of MMA... even though he's in peak physical condition with low body fat he has a huge problem gassing out in fights comes back to why are you training?... what are your goals? (I hate that word but its apt so meh)... what is your body type?... what is your age?... do you have any health problems?... what is your background?... how much time do you have to dedicate to working out?... what equipment do you have access to?... what's your diet like?... what foods/supplements do you have access to? etc etc all these questions need to be answered and considered when devising workout routines... so saying my way is superior to yours is ignorant and stupid

I always do my left side first (I'm right handed)... that way if I get tired and lazy towards the end of a set I've worked out my weak side hardest

can't get video to work for some reason, just search overhead squat on youtube
-
yeah you really need some sort of rack... you can do the front squats or dumbell squats as has been suggested but if you want to go heavy you might have to go to the gym there is a trick to using lighter weights at home but making the exercises harder... try to be really strict with your form and take 1-2 seconds in the positive movement and 4-6 seconds in the negative part... so for squats, squat down really slowly (it will feel strange going so slowly at first) and as deep as you can without losing your balance or lifting your heels or toes off the floor, then explode up... you can even turn it into a jumping squat when your comfortable with the weight also try split squats with dumbells and even one legged squats... do a search on youtube for squat variations and take your pick we did these last night and they suck... but you won't need a lot of weight at first so could be good for you... ignore the rack in the vid you could do these with your 30kg barbell and really feel it! I'm in pain today
-
hahaha that's me all the time... people look at me like I'm strange, 'it can't be good for you'... 'why do you do that to yourself'... they don't get I actually like feeling sore... people avoid pain at all cost but some pain is actually great... or maybe I'm just weird then they go pop a bunch of Nurofen for their sore back and when I tell them their back hurts from sitting on their arse all day and they should go strengthen it by resistance training the laugh at me like I'm the stupid one I've worked with people who pop painkillers everyday for headaches and sore necks/backs but refuse to listen to me when I suggest they try drinking some water and maybe going for a walk outside... some people in my office I've literally NEVER seen drink a glass of water

I suppose you probably get laid more when you look like a beast... the chance of smashing lots of strange box must give you intense motivation

damn too quick for me Ash I just struggle with the notion that there are guys out there with no intention of competing who go through all the diet, training and sacrifice just to look good... that's a hell of a lot of work just so you like what you see in the mirror... don't get me wrong I'm as vain as the next guy but I like how training makes me feel, and like the improvement in general health and how much better I am at other sports I play etc plus I've done my fair share of drugs in the past (recreational) and I know from my own experience and those close to me shit can get out of hand easily and over the long term it can really do some damage... but I don't really have any experience with these types of drugs so I'm happy to accept I probably don't know enough to have a real opinion... just be careful peeps:)

ummm its pretty much expected that bodybuilders use PEDs... they have a whole different set of competitions for people that want to go the natural route... I like that bodybuilding has done it this way, its not in denial like so many other sports
-
proof!? lol yeah we didn't really need any but nice find on the pic

good news... I was undecided on going to dinner tonight as I know it will be a massive eat fest... and a few beers will get consumed no doubt Budapest in Elsternwick... great Hungarian food but massive portions and when its in front of me I just keep eating lol... so I'm trying to eat very light today in preparation been making good progress lately, slowly cutting back for summer... I've tried last minute cuts before and its always been a failure... I don't function very well when I haven't had enough to eat, I get grumpy and have crap workouts so still trying to find the best balance lol at Jay Cutler... he really is a freak... I read that in the first year he took up BB'ing he put on about 20kg of muscle! (can't remember exact number but it was ridiculous)

imagine how good it feels to fly like that... machine

I don't understand the concept of working hard to get fit, strong and healthy and then putting harmful chemicals into your body for the sake of vanity sure if your an elite level athlete trying to make weight or whatever... but even then I'm not sure I completely understand MMA is having issues at the moment with lots of guys on HRT because of low testosterone... probably due to years of extreme weight cutting, so they can fight in weight divisions where they have a size advantage this shit will catch up with you sooner or later... people tell themselves it must be okay because its made by a pharmaceutical company and not in someones basement... but unless your sticking to the correct dosages and getting medical advice/monitoring then you really have no idea what its doing to you just like 'diet' pills in the states... amphetamines, pure and simple... if you have to become a junky to lose weight because you can't stop shoving food in your mouth you have problems worse than being overweight /rant

my whole family uses fish oil... even my bro-in-law who says it helps with his gout, but I'm allergic to fish so its a no-go for me... what are some other sources of omega-3 I can try to fill that hole in my diet?
-
yeah I do get sick of all the abs that get posted when they have no mass to back it up and the strength of a 12yr old girl... but maybe I'm just jealous because I haven't see my abs in many years lol olympic lifters trump BBers and powerlifters for power to weight and conditioning... have a look at this bloke!

Hks Gt-Ss Just Off The Dyno At 560 Rwhp
NickR33 replied to sirimport's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sort of OTT but... just out of interest what's the most anyone has got out of a set of GTSS? if you shoved as much air down their throat as they could handle would 350rwkw be possible? -
someone already suggested it but just get one of those towers so you can do pull ups and dips you don't have any exercises for your side delts so throw some laterals in there... standing throw some overhead presses in there (dumbells or barbell) and some upright rows (for your traps)... maybe work up to some power-cleans, but be careful with form but most importantly you need to strengthen the posterior chain (your back/spine)... so deadlifts and good mornings... this will help all your other lifts no leg work? I can't wait til I get my home gym up and running... I find I get a better workout at home but I'm not setup properly yet so its off to the gym for me:(
