young blokes have been trying to kill themselves for thousands of years and its not going to change anytime soon... unfortunately there hasn't been a major war in a couple of generations to thin out the herd a little... cars have been and still are the main outlet for young males to express their risk taking and general manliness... whether it be in a 1L city car or a 400kw GTR they are going to try their hardest to prove their invincibility... we need more outlets for young men to risk take... its all very well when we have a war or a dangerous job to let young guys risk their lives for us but in everyday life lets give them some room to do it in a semi safe environment and give them as much education as we can (racing tracks, driving courses etc) its all about harm minimisation... your never going to stop the behaviour so you just have to try and limit the damage done... the P plate restrictions are a good start... if I owned my R when I was 18 I wouldn't be here today... no question its a joke we have power poles and trees on the side of our roads for starters... harm minimisation would indicate we redesign barriers etc to reduce fatal crashes... of course this is changing infrastructure and hugely expensive... so we act like we want to reduce fatalities, as long as it doesn't cost any money;) It pisses me off when older people in our community get outraged because a young man is risk taking (usually because they haven't been given a legal outlet... that they can afford) but the same person is all too happy for young men to do dangerous jobs that benefit them... you don't see too many old men down mine shafts or getting shot at in war zones etc

the US government has just launched a massive new program aimed at reducing the growing pharmaceutical drug addiction problem they're having... apparently its become a bigger problem than crack was in the 80's or heroine or even the meth epidemic...

lol... I agree however there is a difference between training for strength, speed, power or bodybuilding... kinda like motorsport... you build a very different car for circuit, drag, dyno or drift... not to say that there can't be crossover, there is but you need to be clear as to your priorities I also lol at people who reckon BBers aren't strong and its all for looks... ummm go tell Ronnie Coleman that I can't bring myself to check myself out in the mirror when at the gym... but at home I'm all flexing and shit... then my wife catches me and I pretend I'm checking my teeth or something...

there are a million different push up variations, its a great exercise for core as well as arms, shoulders, chest etc one of the hardest variations is the rotational pushup... like in this pic but try it with a dumbell in your hand...

the RX7 in front doesn't seem to have any issues with torque... it just frys them off the line! so many good ideas in the last couple of pages but be honest... you'll all end up in Emos -
pretty much any exercises you do standing is training your core... I see guys doing shoulder press or similar sitting on a bench, stand up and it becomes a whole body exercise... any time you do a movement where your unbalanced its a working your core... bench press done with dumbells on a swiss ball for instance... try doing them with only one dumbell, one arm at a time doing pushups, put your feet on a swiss ball... then try using just one foot doing pullups, when you get to the top do a straight leg raise before you lower yourself back down kettlebells are good too... you can use them for woodchop swings, squat swings, upright rows, cleans etc if you approach training like this you will hardly ever need to do crunches and direct ab work

listen to you all... cos RBs are soooo reliable;) that RX7 is all kinds of awesome... lambo doors are a bit interesting though -
standard rods will be okay its more an issue with the rod bolts... when it was built did they upgrade the bolts? keep the rev limit sane and don't let it detonate and you should be okay

cheers, just found the tirerack thread... I've got a few months left on the KU36 but might get Z1 now while exchange rate is good
-

if it wasn't for the Corvette I wouldn't believe you;)

I learnt something today! I'm assuming they have more road/sport orientated rear suspension than regular utes?

all I know is the more muscle you put on the more energy it needs to function which effectively causes your metabolism to be increased... cardio only really increases your metabolism whilst your doing it and for a short time after... but muscle mass uses energy even when your at rest that's why resistance training is so important when your looking to lose weight (and by weight I mean fat)... aerobic exercise and low calorie diets will help you shed weight but a lot of that weight will be muscle... and on low calorie diets your body goes into starvation mode and metabolism decreases... so as soon as you go off the diet your body puts fat back on where the muscle used to be at a greater rate due to the slowing of your metabolism I'm no expert but that's my basic understanding of resistance training and aerobic (cardio) and their relationship to metabolism

I think there's a few LS into RX7 conversions in the states... that makes more sense as at least your replacing the rotor with a more reliable engine... rather than replacing a motor that's prone to overheating and eating apex seals with motor that's prone to eating bearings

that thing is a light switch... must be fun though a ute with 400rwkw... umm better buy shares in a tyre company!... might want to invest in Bonds as well... free lifetime supply of underwear
-
Tues night and Sat morning but both those with a PT I train Thu night as well but usually at home, open to going to the gym if you want?... or even Wed night? Mon night no good because I play bball... Fri night no good because I prefer to drink and be a fat bastard...

go home immediately and d/l it! its brilliant (its not a straight up doco... parts of it were set up/written to give it more of a story line... but he really does smoke weed... and inhale lol)

haha I have a dumbell set at home and have been known to bust out a few curls here and there... in the mirror of course yeah I do some cable stuff at the end of a workout just to finish off... it gives a really good pump... man every time I write 'pump' I hear it in Arnie's voice from Pumping Iron lol
-
yeah I use the mirror to check form as well... but then there's the guys who spend 30min doing arm exercises... usually the same guys that aren't very big in the first place and are just there so they can look good in a singlet... would be better off doing chins... arm only workouts are for bodybuilders... and heros lol
