I rather chin ups... I'm up to 15reps on the wide grip now... so been adding weight on a belt... can do 8-10 with 10kg now also been doing power cleans / olympic style lifts... man that shit sorts you out! gotta be real careful with technique so haven't gone heavy yet but I can almost clean my body weight which isn't too bad I guess I've finally cracked the tonne on bench press... do my work set at 100kg for about 6 reps still can't get rid of all the fat tho... I'm 86kg and reckon I should be down around 80kg... oh abs, will I never see you again! will I be a fat bastard for ever:(

Nismo Coppermix Twinplate Clutch
NickR33 replied to Brandon's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ummm are you serious!? I had a single coppermix in my old GTSt and it was slipping at anything over 250rwkw... had to ditch it... are there different single coppermix for GTS and GTR I wonder? I have an old GMAX twin (8+ yrs) and its still holding the power even on full bore changes... but its time is coming and I'll be going to the coppermix twin with no hesitation -
what dump pipes are you referring to?

thanks, should be a real animal with that much boost + revs ... that link is a bit over my head but I'm trying those 80's F1 engines are ridiculous, but plenty of lag there;) I guess we shouldn't complain too much, the old Sierra Cosworths were much bigger p1gs than our GTRs

thanks for that, really really good explanation of quench:) I always get a bit confused when people use the word response... as I see it there's lag and then there's response... response is how quickly the car responds to throttle input when in its powerband and lag is how long (rpm) the motor takes to build positive boost and get into that powerband so when you say responsive do you mean its going to be really quick to build boost or do you mean its going to be really responsive when on boost? as I see it lag isn't a huge issue as long as you have a fair powerband... if your caught outside that powerband your in the wrong gear for a street car I guess having your powerband not really start til 4000rpm isn't ideal but for a track car not really an issue... for a track car on boost throttle response, and a smooth boost transition (as it builds pressure) are king IMHO Edit: oooh I see a 9,500rpm redline... nice!

quoted for truth! you mention not going for Vcam because 'the motor will be built with the correct cam timing and static compression this will work the same way' can you explain this a bit for me in lay-mans terms?

he has the wider Z tune guards up front so just the rears are a concern... the rears in that pic could be close to -6... heaps of dish there can anyone confirm what offset needed to fit 10.5s on the rear of a 34GTR? -

I know what your saying Jack but this car doesn't see the track so increase in wheel weight not a huge issue IMO... sluggish? with 400rwkw!? it might not feel quite as sharp but won't be that much of a difference I agree with Pete, everyone has TE's, can't hurt to try something a bit different -

what are the specs of your current wheels? how much room do you have between rim and shock at the moment? whether the tyre rubs on the guards will depend on things like tyre width and sidewall height (how much stretch you have)... and camber those rims come in different 'disks'... it simply means how far out the spokes are pushed towards the outside of the rims... you can have 2 wheels with the exact same width and offset but one will have the spokes pushed out further to accommodate big front brakes brake fitting is a trial and error thing mainly... TE37's are really well designed for clearing large calipers... Work Meisters, not so much if you can get them to fit they will look fantastic... but will be some dicking around... most importantly fitting over the brakes and not fouling on the shocks are most important... the other stuff can be worked around EDIT: worst case scenario you maybe able to run spacers... but on a car like your I dunno about spacers... ask Chris about that -
I want to hate this... I clicked on it getting ready to spread the hatorade... but... but... it looks okay its still wrong and all that but damn its impressive

Has Anyone Here Made A Gtr Rwd Only
NickR33 replied to blue_vl_t's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
you sure about that? got a quote on putting GTR rear guards on a GTSt? not just the front guards and bonnet but the front bar as well... then respraying the lot also interior, dash, seats etc (I'm thinking 33GTR tho, not so sure about 32) the 26 will need to be upgraded while your at it... whilst most GTR's you would start with would already have the turbos changed etc for me to build up a GTSt to the same spec as opposed to removing the 4WD from my car wouldn't even be close ps. but I agree... probably a huge waste of time -

are you after lap times? if yes then I wouldn't ditch the 4WD... unless your going the whole hog and completely stripping it, adding aero and running on slicks, maybe then it might pay off... maybe if just for fun I say do it:)... I have avoided dropping the front shafts in mine cos I'm not sure I'd ever put them back in hehe... they're a really front heavy old bus and any way you can remove some of that weight is only going to make it more rewarding to drive... it just won't make it faster! -
Constant *thud* Noise Over 80Km/h
NickR33 replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
my bet is bent rim... I went straight on at turn 1 sandown over the ripple strip... thought I had knocked a wheel weight off or flat spotted a tyre... turned out to be a slightly bent rim as the tyre place couldn't balance it... it only needs to be a few mm out and will thud like that at certain speeds -
just buy a cheaper import worth only 6K or 7K... then just get 3rd party fire and theft... otherwise you'll be paying 1-2K a year to insure a car worth under 10K... no point IMO... drive carefully and make sure if you crash its not your fault and your sweet I had my GTSt for 6 years, only had full comp for the first year and after that just 3rd party... its a risk but I was doing motorsport which is even riskier and your never insured on a track if your looking at getting a 30K GTR then yeah, get full comp

yeah he was pretty keen to get it sorted as he knew we had taken pics etc and pretty obvious he was in the wrong... didn't stop him from telling me he was a truck driver and that he towed stuff all the time and nothing like this had ever happened blah blah... I told him he's a muppet and was lucky nobody was killed it wasn't the nuts that had come loose not tightened etc, they had just sheared off completely

about a year ago I was driving along the monash in the R with my wife and her sister in the car... I'm in the far right hand lane doing 100km/h when all of a sudden a wheel comes bouncing across the fwy, get's hit by a car in the middle lane, takes an abrupt turn and heads straight for my car... I have cars next to me, cars in front and behind so I have nowhere to go and about .5 sec to react so I just jumped off the gas and drove right into it (was afraid to jump on the anchors as I didn't want to cause a pileup) it nailed me in the front left quarter, luckily it didn't bounce up through the windscreen as it could've killed us... I looked in the rearview to see cars locking up brakes and swerving all over the shop amazingly there were no accidents so I make my way to the emergency lane and start walking back down the fwy to see a Falcon with smashed in front and a 4WD towing a trailer with, you guessed it, a missing wheel I'm not going to suggest the trailer was overloaded but you have a look at the pic and tell me what you reckon ps. he reckons he was in the very left lane, the wheel is on the left so how it ended up in the very right lane is a mystery!

yeah I play exactly like Div as well... just nowhere near as good lol I luuuurve Nuketown but it never comes up on PS3 anymore!?

nice, that thing is so punchy and dialed in... apart from lacking a bit of rear grip your so smooth with it... DECA noobs should watch this and learn damn I miss these events
