that aint the heat shield! never seen that... first time for everything hey
-
it was a rhetorical question and you know it... you asked it anyway and when someone came up with an answer you didn't like you had a fit good on smart_one for presenting an alternate opinion around here for a change... at least he injected some entertainment into this self-flagellation thread
-
right... QLD is under water, NZ is falling down and Japan is on the brink of a nuclear disaster and you guys are having an argument about who's supercar is best OP you really just started this thread to get everyone to agree with you and make you feel all warm and fuzzy... smart_one has just shit in your cereal, which happens in an open forum from time to time, deal with it both of you grow up and get some perspective FFS

Tarmac Rallying Perpetual Thread

aaaarggh... where is the NSFW warning!... drooool would that thing even fit on tassie roads!? would it be fair to assume a classic (not something super rare + expensive) would be a bit safer and cheaper to run as the speed and weight are much less!? easier to work on too? trade-off is reliability I guess -
MOAR pics of the Rolla please?
-
what do you care what some muppet reckons... grass is always greener... I look at guys in old school Dattos etc and think hell yeah, would love something like that etc... then they're giving me the thumbs up telling me to get on it so they can hear the 26 scream what we really need is a 10 car garage and lots of spare cash!
-
cool... I remember playing heaps of Rome Total War on a mates PC back in the day... a hard game to wrap your head around when your high as fark but buckets of fun might be time to get back into this series
-
most workshops put a surcharge on getting parts in for you... not to mention the costs associated with having an assembled motor sent over from Japan... if on a budget probably best to source parts yourself after speaking with engine builder about what to get etc and have it assembled here... if you can pull the motor and reinstall yourself some good saving to be made there as well personally I prefer the builder to also be the tuner... then there's no blame game if things don't go 100% if budget not an issue, just call Mines or HKS and have them send you a crate over with all the fruit

no amount of money or pride is worth throwing away your health for f**k pride, you know you do a good job and that's all that matters... sometimes you have to be prepared to walk away to really get what you want... nobody notices your suffering if the work is getting done, why should they? 110kg!... best mod you can do for your car is put down the cans and do some exercise! lol I let myself go through my mid 20's... went from 75kg to 95 kg... its taken 3 years to get remotely back in shape and its farking hard work! anyway enough of the self improvement lecture, back to cars -
must be even more frustrating to be on the inside and see its not working... and to open your mouth is probably career suicide... so to keep your job to pay the bills you have to go along... and if you actually want a promotion you have to go against most of the reasons you probably became a cop in the first place... just like any other business really, your not there to help people just to keep your mouth shut, make the stats look good and keep the cash rolling in

that video is pretty cut and dried... if he really is as experienced a driver as he reckons he would've run straight on BEHIND the MX5 if there was no car there you MAY have tried to make the corner (although running straight on is still the better option) he made a mistake... doesn't make him liable but to insinuate it might be the MX5's fault is ridiculous and insulting
-
quoted for truth if you have a running rb26 leave it! anyone who pulls a perfectly fine 26 out to build it is mad building a bottom end is the same whether it was running fine or not (excluding putting a rod out the block of course) call racepace and get a quote

yeah 'new' is subjective

Rb30/26Head Or A Rb28 Stroker
NickR33 replied to TristantheBaker's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I didn't know you were from my area Disco, when did you see me? lol seriously though, its a fine balance... you are over stating the cost and piggishness of a tuned GTR on the street... sure if your running a T88 or something on a stock capacity then yeah fine its going to be a painful drive modern cars are easier and easier to drive and drive quickly... most are super quick from 0-100km/h and do so with little fuss... cleverly modded 90's jap cars can do just as well with sensible mods however, that's not the point... I don't want an easy car to drive... I don't want a car that is really quick to the speed limit but feels flat when your really pushing... I want a car that takes skill to drive and on the rare occasion when the road opens up it thrills you... it sticks its hand down your pants and slaps you in the face... and when you get out your hands are shaking just a little bit I don't want to race traffic, I couldn't care less if the guy in the X5 get's in front of me at the lights... I know if I really wanted to I could smash him but unlike when I was younger I no longer feel the need to prove it also lag is only an issue if your not in the right gear... like those stupid tests Clarkson does when he sits in top gear and hits the gas at like 60km/h... use the gear stick, its what its there for -
just make sure you cool it properly before you switch car off... otherwise they're fine, no less reliable that water cooled (some might even argue more reliable, but let's not go there) ps. highmount + carbon bonnet in Melbourne... good luck:)

anyone playing the new Zomb map... its huuuge... got to lvl 27 with some random last night... loving backing up in the corner with the death machine while getting rushed by dozens of zombs!

its called stress mate... sounds like you need some time off -
look on the bright side... that 300ZX has never looked better... sorry to hear about your car mate... I don't know the driver but sounds like he was put in a bad situation too, damaged 2 cars and not at fault... he might have been more polite but was probably pretty shitty about the whole situation good luck with putting your missus car back together

best boost controller is the peddle underneath your right foot... I run 21psi rain, hail or shine:) also why so keen buying in Japan? you can find just as good condition cars in Aus... and we don't drive them in snow regions where they put salt on the roads... -
hahahahaha you know, I have to admit there has been times when I'm 'that wanker in a Skyline'... nobody is perfect and we all have our bad days seriously though when did journalism die... what was once a noble profession and the cornerstone of democracy is now a JOKE... hang your heads in shame journos, your a disgrace

fair enough, of course I accept there is safe riders out there... but considering how dangerous it is there should be more of them you have to accept being generalised into larger groups by people who don't know enough about your subculture to differentiate... its par for the course... you only need worry about how you act, can't control the actions of others this incident is another matter IMO... I'm sure someone explained to the cop the cruise was an officially sanctioned by SAU etc... the fact he wasn't listening when people were trying to explain their situation, in a friendly manner I might add, just means he was lazy and rude... fair enough he pulled them over, I don't mind being pulled over and having a chat... pulling people over before they do something wrong might just be enough to get them to pull their head in... this whole issue of then receiving an EPA in the mail a week later doesn't solve anything, other than increase resentment and hostility and its just weaksauce
