  1. Stop driving it 'til you can get someone to have a close look... its very loud and RB's rarely have problems in the head... bearing damage is much more common... I really hope its a top end problem but it better to be safe than sorry... good luck
  2. same quote as this please... and how quickly can you get in stock? I have a leak in one tyre I can actually hear air escaping so need a new set asap!
  3. Nice brake kit!... drooooool those 2500's will be fine, better pad for the street IMO... the 3000's just chew up your rotors when cold... you won't run out of braking with that setup:) you don't need to learn to drive, you have a GTR, just point it where you want to go and step on the loud pedal! ... best place to start would be on the Deca skid pan and I'm sure there are a bunch of people there who would love a close look at the car... it would be a weapon around the cones with its quick response
  4. I want to do this to my 33R sooo bad but the Mrs has shut me down... doesn't think it will look any good... I'm going to send her these pics... works really well with the odd curves/edges of the 35, very stealth fighter as Brandon posted
  5. The CE28's look the best I reckon... LMGT4's are definitely cool though... tough choice hey!... top shelf parts selection and you got it built at the right place... now stop holding out on us, we want to see the dyno chart!
  6. hahaha yes yes nice call what's the top speed they can chase at before they have to call it off? 120km/h? from a roll it would take me about 3 secs to get there so wouldn't make for much footage! then they would be waiting for me out the front of my place when I got home... along with all my stuff that Kalli would have thrown on the nature strip... its cool though cos I can just come and stay at your place yeah?
  7. plenty of meat in that curve Al! how much boost do you get at idle?
  8. can't read the tag... T88? lol do it... do it... seriously... do it...
  9. no worries:) back on topic......................... no high speed pursuits, no PIT maneuvers, no tasers, no shoot outs......... no entertainment lol
  10. sorry big man but if you want to use somebodies image for commercial gain and you don't get permission you leave yourself open to litigation... editorial stuff (news/journalism) is usually okay but any tv show or advertising where the person is clearly recognisable (and certainly if you are getting them to comment/speak on a subject) its a no no photography is a bit of a gray area... editorial stuff (journalism) is okay but even artist who take peoples picture and sell it in a gallery really should have permission to use that person's image... if you don't get permission then proceed to sell the print for $$$ and the person finds out they could sue you for royalties PS. they show talked about here would 100% need a release signed by the people pulled over etc... otherwise faces would have to be blurred
  11. they have signed a release... usually after payment... you would sh!t bricks if you knew how much some people get paid by current affair programs these kind of shows here are so lame when you compare to the US... COPS FTW!!! bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gunna do when they come for you... EAT TASER MUTHAFARKER!!! oh and LOL at 'ben Hur'... gold
  12. lol no... just in general if anyone approaches you in the street to use you in a show or commercial or something you should NEVER sign the release until you have asked for payment... unless its a charity or something people are making money by using your image and you should be paid for it... they will try and get you to do it for free just 'to be on tv' but that's rubbish once they have your footage and you have signed the release they may (depending on the terms of the release) use it however they want... chop it up, take you out of context, sell it on etc etc... so make sure you read it before you sign it!
  13. lovin the flame pic! yet to get a pic of mine doing that... when it shoots a fireball at night it lights up the whole cabin... yes I have the maturity of a 5 year old
  14. they have to get you to sign a release form... public space or not, if you can be identified they need a signed release Never sign a release without asking for payment;)
  15. you will not be satisfied going from 285rwkw to a stock GTR... it will feel slow and you'll want to modify it... with the extra weight and grip you will want a 300rwkw+ R to feel like you have stepped into a quicker car I did a similar thing recently, went from a 260rwkw GTSt to a 360rwkw GTR (33 tho not 34)... I was thinking the same as you and my best advice is to go the GTR if you can afford one that has already had the works done to it... if not stick with your car... standard GTR's have too much grip+weight to be anywhere near as fun as a 450+hp rear drive skyline... especially one you have spent so much time and money on I wouldn't worry about what other people on the road think of you... the majority couldn't tell the difference between a GTT and GTR even if they were inside one
  16. not really your just a bit right hand dominant... when turning right you reach up with your right hand and pull the wheel down, which is fine (as you still have a hand on either side of the wheel)... however when you turn left you do the same thing, reach up with your right hand (to about 2 o'clock) then push the wheel over so that your right hand ends up almost all the way over to the left of the wheel you just need to do the opposite when turning left... reach up with your LEFT hand and pull the wheel down... does that make sense? anyway I'm no expert, just an observation... nice car, good work on chopping those Holdens!
  17. yep, 17Z's... 8cm... 20psi makes 360rwkw... its a bit laggy but still has a solid 4000rpm powerband... redline 8500, but I rarely rev it over 8000rpm as you get minimal gains from ringing its neck its interesting to compare with my old car (RB25) which was running 260rwkw and had a similar 4000rpm powerband (HKS 2835)... I had both cars for about a month and after driving the R jumping back in the old car it felt so strangled at high rpm... it actually felt slow, I would find myself checking peak boost to make sure something wasn't wrong with it! lol... however it was much quicker round the cones on a skidpan and heaps easier/nicer to drive on the road when I'm done posing with the R and I have more than 1 car space at home I'm keen on getting an S14 or similar for serious track work... will strip it with a modest power up and hopefully have a reliable hack I can get lots of seat time in so I can work on my driving
  18. go the Truck turbos!... I mean Trust turbos! oops....................... nah they're awesome, coming from a modern ball bearing HKS turbs I thought I would eventually rip the Trust blowers out... but I have grown to love them so they're staying... for old tech turbos my dyno chart stands up pretty well compared to some brand new setups you see posted around here... but then again that might just be a little Racepace magic oh it seems I have brought up RB26's... sorry didn't realise this thread was only for rotors and SR20s.......... just ignore me... lol back on topic that RX7 is insane... soooo much car, such a tiny motor!... it would haul though, like a go kart for old blokes... love it
  19. yeah that points to something being damaged... or something not being reinstalled correctly... you could have also stumbled on a bad batch of fuel and the ecu is retarding the timing to protect the motor but that's a long shot I don't like people saying to throw more mods at a problem but in the case of 33GTSt's they do really well with some a/m management and good tune... I mucked around with an SAFC for ages but should have just done it properly in the first place... they drive really nice with just a full exhaust and good tune... mid range picks up massively with a few more psi and a better cooler too
  20. Its just the ecu's way of protecting the engine... when it sees too much airflow through the afm it will start to retard the timing and richen the mixture... you might have damaged the actuator making it open later which is causing it to R&R... even still just having an aftermarket exhaust on there can sometimes trigger R&R in the right conditions... it increases airflow through the whole system but you won't see it in a boost increase, the afm however does see the extra airflow... when I first boosted my old car I used to get it a lot so I used a SAFC to trick the afm... even still on cold nights it would sometimes happen... best mod for them is a Power FC and good tune also dump pipes don't make a huge difference... the exhaust housing on the stock turbo is where the restriction is, not much gain fitting a dump pipe (although people will tell you otherwise)
  21. yikes! no......... just no
  22. not that I know of... you could make your own I guess but I would just stick with your stock box with decent filter... its just not worth mucking around with, no real gains to be made apart from a nice induction sound... unless your going for big power, then I'd just throw an Apexi pod in with a cold air feed from the front bar and maybe a heat shield
  23. It looks trick but that's about it I'm afraid... would probably flow more than the standard airbox but its just drawing air from the engine bay so no real advantage over a pod setup... its high quality though, ARC make great products as you can see had one on my ol' GTSt... had to remove it when I went to a HKS turbo as it wouldn't fit... something else to think about
  24. Joel please post the Datto on 2 wheels in here... its epic!
  25. you just learn throttle control... quickly! seriously though, people who don't drive powerful cars think you just mash the gas when you want to go fast but you learn to gently roll on the throttle... and especially in a rwd or in the wet you learn to wait til the steering wheel is straight before you give it the beans... or you can do it the fun way, just hit it and get ready to pour on the opposite lock! lol you will get used to the power pretty quickly anyway... do a skid pan day or some driver training and you'll be right
