  1. I should have bought this... to think I was worried about the rotors reliability so I bought a full house GTR... only to have it spin a bearing the first time I tracked it! I looked at a few late model RX7's and this is probably the best condition/price one around... free bump:)
  2. sorry Russ but its too funny not to
  3. Nice shots Hightower... love the one of the Topgear GTR with its nose almost on the ground... very artistic Dave's Datto looks very intimate for driver and passenger... you might as well be sitting on each others lap! I like this shot too... that's a big, heavy car to be lifting a leg!
  4. Yeah it should take a lot of abuse but just got unlucky... that's cars for you, sad but nothing that can't be fixed... anyway enough sob stories, back to Deca chat... this thread needs more pics and video!
  5. haha troublemaker... No it didn't Nath, but it did develop a bottom end knock... sounds like it picked up one of the bearings... I wasn't as nice to it as you were, I gave it some major rev limiter love... was trying to overcome the weight of the Bigbird sitting in the passenger seat!
  6. thanks again to all the organisers and volunteers, it went really smoothly... everyone got through with plenty of time to have a break for lunch and for some smokeshows at the end of the day... everyone knows 33GTSt's are teh donut kings! Sorry we didn't eat with you guys at the Mexican joint but I had some major sucking up to do to the missus... when we did rock up I was impressed to see what would have to be the biggest turn out ever... and it was farkin mayhem in there!... you animals! lol I always feel kinda bad for any other customers who happen to try and have dinner at the same time as the SAU clan... they should be warned hehe from now on I shall be known as Nick, Professional RB Killer... the diagnosis is as suspected so its at the doctors awaiting surgery... thanks to Tim and Mick for the tow back to the caravan park and for Jack for coming out to Shep on his day off to rescue me!
  7. RIPS motor, cheerleaders... I never know whether your my hero or just full of sh!t but I'm always entertained! :)
  8. I WAS going to... but then I got lazy and didn't... so you won't be the only one understeering all over the pan unless I drop the front driveshaft and use plenty of throttle... then it will be under, under, under, OVER!
  9. just checking;) your shots look fantastic, I would love to attend but just checked my calendar and I'll be down the coast for my sisters birthday that weekend... bummer
  10. will you be bringing your own lighting as per the pics Ash posted up?
  11. yep its definitely getting there... just have a look at the roof line, it needs some smoothing... also might be nice to add some reflection to the windows... put a thick white line through the middle and some warm/earth shades below the line and some cool/sky shades above the line (sorry I couldn't find any examples) also don't be afraid to really push your shading... work out where your light source is and give the areas in shade a fair bit of darkening... this will give it shape (helping to show the flare on your fenders), especially as you are rendering from side on and not 3/4
  12. haha go Russ, rb20 POWAH! is Troy still in? I've been looking around for a cheap 32 GTSt to strip and beat up at the track but the prices people are asking for them is hilarious... 10K for one with 200,000km, tired paint and a few crappy mods... gimme a break!
  13. These guys got some total seal rings for me a couple of years ago... I had to replace the rings in some arias pistons and they were a strange size... I was really happy with the service and can recommend them, they had to get them custom made (in the US I believe) and shipped and it all took about a fortnight
  14. do a search online for tips on how to render cars... too much detail to go into here a good site is http://www.carbodydesign.com/ good luck:)
  15. don't forget a clutch upgrade... may as well get a decent one now if your intent on running that turbo I wouldn't bother with the high mount and ex gate if I were you... much better to low mount an internal gate turbo as 270rwkw is easily achievable
  16. lol... RB20 x 2... one in the front and one in the boot
  17. are you going to put it into Illustrator and finish on the computer or keep it hand drawn? if you go hand drawn get yourself a lightbox or just a glass table with lamp underneath... throw some ruled lines on it as well so you get everything straight etc or even trace a pic of an actual R35 and use that as a template keep laying a new sheet over it and re drawing it, trying different stuff as you go looking good though, don't forget to try different things and keep all the drafts (they like that, shows how much work you've put in) maybe try to tuck the spoiler in at the bottom and give it heaps of offset up front so you can see some tyre... R35's can't take much offset up front so I like where your going with the Z tune guards etc... good work, always helps to do projects on stuff your genuinely interested in
  18. I don't think I've ever seen that car in the flesh... what engine/turbo combo does it run?
  19. that Kings way on ramp is always sketchy... its like mad max lol... people have NFI how to merge at the best of times but its especially bad there for some reason glad you missed the trouble:)
  20. wow a PP right next to your leg.... that would be loud in the car... brap brap braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap love how rotaries are so small, barely bigger than the bellhousing on the box! do you run a scatter shield over it?
  21. 'Black Beauty'... now THAT is gay;)
  22. damn... that's all kinds of cool! this thread is dangerous... I need to stop reading it before I do silly things
  23. perfect wheel choice mate, they look gorgeous! making me consider ripping apart the LM's to paint the centres that colour...
