haha would love to see their face when you pull up to their window...I bet they wind it up quick smart! seriously cyclist aren't that bad, for the amount of shit they have to put up with... some motorcyclists shit me though, never seem to be doing the speed limit, weaving in and out of cars, riding in your blind spot... and worst of all, using the bicycle lane:/ more cyclists means less cars on the road, less traffic and less pollution... can't be all bad!

450Z would be niiiiice... how about a 450Z with supercharger a la ZR1 Corvette... in the new 370Z chassis of course... I know Roy would want one;)

any news on the Kings way United having E85? not that the GTR needs more power but some more timing would be nice to aid drivability -

Not the GTSt, new car GTR... insured for 40K... when they asked if it had any mods I said yes... they said what is modified... I said everything lol Yep thanks Dane, I might give RACV a call after LSV... LSV sound like they want people business so going to try there first
-
I just told them I moved... they asked where the car was going to be... I said secure underground car park... I guess I should have said garage.../fail then again as Ash says I really would be upset if something happened to it and the refused to pay out due to a confusion over the meaning of the word garage I just reckon its silly... I'm rating 1, never made a claim in 10 years of driving... bah
-
hmm yeah might be worth another call hey... I'll call again tomorrow and see if I can't speak to someone else... otherwise stuff 'em I'll go elsewhere
-
the guy did put me on hold and go and ask someone I assume was his manager... but maybe he was just picking his nose... I could just tell them its in a garage but if something does happen to it its going to be pretty hard to make a claim, would prefer to not be hiding anything I'll give LSV a call cheers Al

So I rang Shannons to tell them I had moved address and that the car would be stored in a secure underground car park (of which there are only 7 apartments, we're not talking a high rise)... it requires a buzzer to get in and out of and has no manual override... there is a fire exit of course but good luck getting the car up the stairs... it was previously insured in a garage in South Caulfield (a garage that had no lock on the door, could be opened by anyone)... so they tell me because its not in a 'garage' they can no longer insure it... its not exactly the ghetto, we're talking about Brighton and it sits next to a Porsche Cayenne FFS! Mine would hardly be the first port of call for a theif! I can't understand this logic... clearly they don't want my 1.5K a year then... things must be really good over there So my question is who else should I call? I have been insured with Just Cars previously and they were alright but keen to try someone who actually wants my business Cheers guys

a fairly stock 33 GTSt is a good street car/daily driver... as long as your not thrashing the crap out of it its reliable and pretty cheap to fix... there are heaps of standard parts out there at wreckers etc... sure it hasn't got as much space for shopping but your not shopping for an army, I never had trouble fitting stuff in the line, even for week long holidays down the coast you will sell the Jazz much easier and get a better price for it... I dunno about you but I can't stand driving little hatch backs even on the shortest most boring trips... I have a little Corolla there to drive daily but have taken the GTR nearly every day lol... and its FAR from practical... its a sickness:)

yeah the only free to air channel I regularly watch is SBS... have been watching the new Underbelly and enjoying it... Foxtel is getting pretty bad these days too, I don't think I will renew my subscription when it runs out... I will just D/L the stuff I want to watch... Entourage, Mad Men etc Oh if anyone is into the Underbelly stuff do yourself a favour and hunt down a copy of Blue Murder... its about corrupt cops in NSW in the 70's... done by the ABC years ago, much better than Underbelly IMO the only good reality show ever made is the UFC one... they do all the typical reality tv sh!t talking, posing and carrying on but then guess what... they get into the cage and proceed to smash the living crap out of each other... the only real way to solve all those petty disagreements and politics... violence lol
-
yeah, like, I would totally buy it... except its white, and I don't like white... :) go on Jack... you know you want it muhahahaha this car is that fast your face will literally come off if your not wearing a helmet while driving it...
-
are you backing off before the finish line? maybe post your 330' 660' and 1000' times... the drag gurus should be able to tell you what's going on

spotted a wicked white 34 GTR with black Nismo wheels on Barkly St while I was waiting for my lunch... idles like my car... lumpy and loud!

Hi Ant I was just trying to point out that generally the more wealth you have the easier it is to avoid tax... and yes not a terrible thing when it gets spent on the business but not so good when it ends up offshore (which it often does when trying to avoid paying tax on it)
-
great post! remember even if we go out and buy a bunch of crap made in China there are a bunch of Australian companies involved in the importation and sale of said product who will benefit... not as good as spending on a local service but still not totally pointless economy has been good for a long time... a lot of people have made a boatload of money... time to tighten the belts and cop it on the chin... there are always people worse of than you
-
aw poor little business owner... maybe we should employ trickle down economics just like the Bush administration has been doing over the last 8 years... that worked well... didn't it? don't think for a second that business owners aren't using every trick known to man to make sure they pay as little tax as possible... they have clever accountants to help them find the loopholes... which there are many I'm not sure about how wise this version of a stimulus package is but I've never received a single cent from the government so hey at least I get something back! I would have preferred to see it being spent on infrastructure though... in Vic for example we need recycled water infrastructure and extension of rail services badly... we haven't had any major infrastructure projects apart from roads in a very long time... could possibly kill 2 birds with one stone, stimulate the economy by creating jobs and improving the standard of living at the same time

dear god yes... that's all kinds of right

sorry guys pretty much sold, if not I will post in this thread I have really lost interest in it so just want it gone... could have held out for a few more grand probably but would much rather the cash in my pocket at this stage... a new computer is calling me! where were you guys a few weeks ago lol it really is a great street car, but I'm just sick of looking at it now -
will try it with the standard comp back in there, cheers guys

Hi guys, I had an aftermarket wheel put on my 33 GTSt a while ago and I have recently decided to sell the car so have reinstalled the original airbag steering wheel... the only issue has been the airbag light has stayed on... I understand I may have to reset the system so I have done as suggested below> "How to reset SRS(air bag) light: Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS). Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine. If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer." Unfortunately this has not worked and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact I'm running a Power FC... should I reinstall the standard computer and try again? Any help is appreciated:)

loans on cars are a bad idea... your paying massive amounts of interest (you will because the bank sees you as a risk and your only borrowing a small amount) and the car is depreciating at the same time remember to add the $1500+ you will be paying in insurance as well... plus another $500 for rego... and that's with nothing going wrong with the car and we haven't even dipped into servicing costs... even tyres for these cars will end up costing you at least $800 for something semi decent save up this year, work your tail off over next summer and see how much you have then... you should almost be off your P's by then anyway?

I have King springs with Bilsteins in the GTSt... I've never had problems with them... they are a really great street setup... much 'nicer' to drive on than the Teins in the GTR That Carroll Smith Cause and Effect writeup is really good... I think the GTSt's rear end is too high (roll centre) and too soft... good for getting power down on the street and in the wet but at the track it falls over the outside rear tyre making trail braking very tricky and getting on the power early out of a fast sweeping corner makes it understeer (too much weight transfer to the rear) I had some scrubbing issues at the rear so we left it fairly high... I think if some slightly harder springs were thrown in and the rear ride height dropped about 10mm would solve this The GTR turns in really well and is a lot flatter and more composed but has a little push understeer mid corner... haven't worked out why yet but haven't been to the track to really push it
