  1. I'm with Paul... OEM pads for the street definately
  2. geez ouch... glad you guys are okay, had you been going quicker it could have been really bad... nice to have 1.5 tonnes of german engineered metal around you when sh!t like that happens... riding a motorbike FTL! and what happened to teh mad dutton driving skillz... you should have yanked the handbrake and drifted around the pole;) LOL @ the bimmer with kit pic
  3. no point going the bigger calipers if you are going to keep the same diameter rotors IMO I would think upgrading to R34 GTR calipers + rotors would give you more bang for buck but then again I don't know how cheap the EVO stuff you have been offered is I have just done this upgrade (R33 GTSt) and have noticed a big difference when stopping hard, can't really tell pottering around town but it really wants to throw me into the steering wheel when I jump on the anchors
  4. speed cut comes in at 5,000rpm in 5th gear which in my car is 190km/h... which I hit about 3/4s down most straights ON THE TRACK I can't for the life of me think why you would go bother chopping wires other than then you can brag to your mates about how quickly you were going when you got done for speeding......... and how for the next 6 months you will be needing a lift;)
  5. its okay as long as you don't have the ones with the vents etc that protrude from the top of the bonnet... anything that may impede a pedestrian from being able to 'roll' over the bonnet in the case of an accident is unroadworthy... and yes I know WRXs have bonnet scoops but they have obviously been through much testing and approval plus I think the vents make it look like ass
  6. watched this last night was really good to see everyone kicking Evo and Porka ass... the lap onboard Chris' 33GTR around Sandown was awesome! thought we wouldn't see any of the Sil80 but they showed a brilliant run right at the end, couldn't quite see who was driving but assume because it was GOOD driving then it was probably Ryan...... that and the drivers head wasn't jammed up against the roof! the footage of Snowies GTR was a bit dissapointing, they really didn't capture how much faster you guys were... but plenty of sliding bring on deca
  7. geez Al I hope thats not the same manufacturer who I got my sump from... mine looked okay though *gulp* pm me the brand if you don't mind sucks we won't see the red beast at DECA:(
  8. okay pics are up for the guys asking about shipping I have got some quotes but they are all up around $100+ because of the weight... I will see about splitting the packages up and see if I can get a cheaper price I'm in Melbourne BTW
  9. Hi guys, Ive got complete R33 GTSt brake setup front and rear, with calipers, rotors and pads... reason for sale? I've upgraded to Brembos the rotors up front are RDA gold slotted and dimpled at least 80% meat left pads up front are Ferodo DS2500, bought same time as the rotors, plenty left the rear is using standard nissan pads and rotors both in good condition try to sell as a package first and if people are really keen to seperate I will... later $550 for the lot pics coming soon :sorcerer:
  10. I was checking out big red this morning and the pics don't do it justice... that thing is a beast in the flesh!... drooool seriously you could start some low cost housing in the dish at the back... its wiiide
  11. no no no... you broke the rules the first time by being faster... you have to promise to take out at least 2 witches hats or your not allowed to drive;)
  12. is +5º castor enough?... I dunno if its the same with 32GTRs but my car loved the extra 2º castor...
  13. ah didn't read the bit about water pump... still, they aren't very expensive... under $200... also you should be able to replace your pads for under $200... just some Bendix or Lucas would do the trick... in fact if you went for a nice cheap pad you could probably get in under $100... that said I'm not suggesting you get cheap brake parts... one area you don't want to skimp
  14. timing belt can be had the same day... no need to be waiting 3 days for that stuff even if they replaced all your rotors and pads I still can't see it being anywhere near $1600... but then again I haven't seen the invoice etc... get them to break down the costs for you, sounds a bit on the high side
  15. ah okay thanks Ferni... yeah Ben looked at the rims this morning and seems to think it will be fine:)
  16. thanks guys... interesting point you make Duncan, I was almost sold on the G4 8 piston jobbies until I saw these come up for sale... I had just assumed as they were designed to stop a 200kg heavier car they would be a definate upgrade for me... oh well if I don't see an improvement in lap times they will surely hold up better and longer into a session... plus they look a whole bunch nicer than the stock stuff, tragic I know Roy: Ben at RP is installing them, so I assume he knows he has to drill the hub thanks for the input guys, hopefully I feel the same way about the upgrade as FineLine does! otherwise I better get those F40's you have for sale eh Roy;)
  17. Hey guys, getting some R34 Brembos bolted up to my 33 GTSt on Monday... now I know they bolt up fine but what I need to know is will they fit underneath my 17 inch rims? I have attached some pics to show how much room is in there now (plenty) but I really have no idea how big the Brembo caliper is compared to the sumitomo... I believe the rotors are 300mm? which should fit okay thanks in advance!
  18. you can... but its lots of work big plus is that the sniffer dogs have trouble locating the drugs when they are inside small children... so I've been told... so 1jz's hey...
  19. no shit... plus you don't need a huge turbo as its a pretty light car... classic looks (no plastic or fibreglass)... add a chin spoiler (old school style) and some wide rims with plenty of dish and your done... all whilst still having enough room in the engine bay to smuggle small Mexican children... or smack... you know whatever floats your boat
  20. can't go wrong with a head designed by yamaha... nice bit of kit!... if only the turbo was on the other side:(
  21. Japan and the US have struggled partly because their manufacturing industries have headed to China in search of cheap labour... we have huge amounts of coal and iron ore, no need to manufacture anything, just put it on a ship and float it over very true on the rich vs poor statement... I'll leave that one alone I never said Rudd was a better idea, just a different one... sometime you have to change things up to keep the old guys honest... there is no honesty left in the Liberal government... just marketing, advertising thinly veiled as public service announcements and spin.... lots and lots of spin good point about having no job, I'm not keen to try it either... but lets not get carried away, very different economic climate in the Keating days... stock market was way overvalued... similar to the dot com debarcle
  22. a blind, deaf, mute monkey could have run the economy well over the last 10 years... not really a claim to fame IMO as long as we keep digging dirt up and selling it to China we will be fine... as long as China and India continue to grow we will be fine... don't forget the last recession wasn't just confined to Australia... but just like America over the last 10 years in this country the rich have got richer and the poor are just further in debt ps. and I'm still not happy about Iraq, the AWB thing, Woomera detention centre and the list goes on... that smug little f**k thinks he doesn't need to explain or take responsibility for anything... just keep quiet and eventually we will all forget about it while we swim in our pools filled with champagne and dry off by rolling in piles of hundred dollar bills...
  23. Hi all, I need a power fc for my R33 GTSt asap! don't make me go on Ebay... it sucks cheers, Nick
  24. stock radiator is good as long as it is working near 100%... get yours flushed and have proper quality fluid in there oil cooler is a good idea... along with some kind of oil temp+pressure guage FMIC is a great idea too... more power, less heat, less knock = win, win make sure the tuning is spot on and you have a bit of insurance in the tune (if you go aftermarket ecu)... I just detonated my RB25 to death at the track because it hadn't been on a dyno in 18 months and I was running without an oil cooler... a case of 'just one more lap and then I'll bring it in' so yeah make sure you have a good tune and you will be able to lap all day everyday at full pace with that amount of power...also check your fuel system is working 100%... fuel pump, injectors (you may even want them removed, tested and cleaned) my advice would be forget bolting on a bigger turbo until you have had plenty of track time... you will find more power = more problems that will cost you $$ and keep you off the track... just my 2 cents
