  1. Hi Methz, I have a set of work xd9's also. However, my rear's are +38. They tuck under the R33 GTST perfect with just a lip roll. I took to my guards with a pipe, and hit a rust spot, destroying it in the process when it crumbled. As a result, I have widened guards made of fibreglass bolted over the top of the original fender (extended by 50mm). Now these rims sink a bit too far in and require spacers to make them look normal again (25mm) which make the offset just over +20. Would you be interested in a swap plus some cash your way for your rear set? You would still be able to sell the entire set of 4 and will bolt on to any R33 Gtst with just a lip roll whilst running full sized tyres without stretch- 265-285mm. ., +18 won't fit too well to a standard r33gtst without a very decent roll and stretched tyres (less than 235). This applies to anyone who ends up purchasing this set and wants a smaller offset.
  2. I didn't consider that.... can that even happen? Do you have a catch can?
  3. Thanks ARTZ, great to see you're making that power without oil being consumed. I'm after a consensus to determine what is reasonable in terms of oil consumption. After a good fanging i gave my car, it seemed to use between 250-500ml just over a several days. Running 300kw, e85, 19psi - new GTX3076 turbo. Does anyone know if blowby (without a catchcan) will damage the turbo? (I want to protect my investment)
  4. Ha Ha, I'm pretty sure you would too, if you got the same deal I got. I signed up for my Wheels Mag subscription which came with a free Sidchrome socket set valued at $249 (64 piece?). The subscription itself was much less. I think $140 (2 years I think). The value has paid for itself multiple times over, with it being used during the rebuild of my brother's WRX, not to mention good reading material for the loo as well.
  5. Thanks Scotty, since the catch can is nearly empty, I take it that the oil consumption is predominantly from the oil not being scraped entirely off the cylinder walls and hence burning off in the combustion process?
  6. HI all, Was wondering if I could please canvass the community's oil usage in the RB25DET's. Could you please frame your responses to include: Short list of Mods: Fuel: Power Level: How long the motor has been burning noticable amounts of oil (500ml+ or more per service interval): Any contributing factors you think started causing the oil burning/ accelerated wear on rings etc: Top-up Frequency: What oil used: Preventative measures you currently have in place to minimise: Any negative impacts including reduced power levels, impact to turbo compressor etc.: Finally as a guestimate, i reckon 5mm on the dipstick may be equivalent to somewhere between 250-500ml. Thanks
  7. Hi, would someone like to post up their water temp and cranking tables? With the weather becoming increasingly colder, my cold starts are becoming more difficult. I've played with the settings incrementally until a successful start-up occurs before reverting the values back to what the Tuner had originally set (was tuned in warmer weather).
  8. Ok so my entry form has been received and a spot confirmed. CAMS license also received. Could I ask what equipment/tools you guys are bringing with you ?
  9. Hi Guys, Came across this in Wheels Magazine, and a further look at their website: http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Full_Synthetic_Engine_Oils/Full_Synthetic_10W-60_Extreme_Engine_Oil/#.UXFGO73EvqU Fully Synthetic, API SN (Ethanol protection) and aimed at Performance or Race tuned engines. Australian Made and Looks like a winner. Any one heard of used this> Your thoughts?
  10. Hi fellas, I'm trying to get my CAMS level 2S sorted. Hoping to make it for Sat. Would be good to meet SAU folk there.
  11. Pictures (below) of what the workshop (Chasers Motorworks) did to open it up the stock airbox. They also fabricated the intake pipe to the turbo using a silicon hose joiner from the z32 to the 3" metal intake pipe before joining to the turbo via 3" to 4" silicon hose fitting. I was advised it was a bitch to do by the workshop. The stock airbox was holding me back on my car hence needing to drill out holes. Not saying it will/may hold others back if they have better flowing setups etc. Was tough getting a pic to show you the pipe from the z32 at this time, but you may be able to just make out how it reaches the turbo.
  12. Lmao. Nice one Basti, tactfully done. Apologies if i'm quick with the trigger. Last fortnight I did humanity an injustice because I kept silent so as to be 'agreeable' to a group of people i just met. But that's my problem. Cheers.
  13. Maybe this thread should be called "falsely accused of racism"
  14. Can we cut out the useless Asian jokes? There were some valid commentary and extremely good points raised. Funny posts regarding EPA carpark dobbing which I'm all for to give those in the system a taste of their own. But if you insist on the race jokes why don't we just move on and make some comments about Africans. Greek? No Italian. I'm not sure it's hard to make up my mind since there's Afghans, Jews, and half-casts in between. I'm a bit spoilt for choice but I guess that's one of the privileges I have living in a multi-cultural society. Don't forget ur mum either....
  15. It's like 'Rays Outdoors' ... But for wheels haha
  16. Took a bit of boost to get there when compared to others (19PSI). The stock airbox was believed to be responsible. Eventually had to resort to making several holes in the airbox to open it up. Set-up looks very factory. Graph for below: (Not sure how to create Thumbnail view, Sorry)
  17. Apologies, I mistook failure to be 'failures that have occured along the way'. It appears I can't edit the post at work, probably since we're still on Internet Explorer 6. So for now, as of Today, it's happy story and really glad to share this with you all. Can't wait till 5 o'clock to go pick it up and drive it for the first time at this power level. It was pretty funny talking to the workshop yesterday. They advised they hit 290kw since it wouldn't make any more with the stock airbox. I literally told them I wanted to get into the '300kw Unopened 25 Club'. haha
  18. mods: Stock Plenum, Stock Manifolds (Intake and Exhaust), Stock airbox w/ Trust Greddy Panel Filterz32 w/ Tomei Plug, Metal Intake Pipe 3" to 4", Blitz Return Flow Intercooler, Garret GTX3076R IW 0.82, Custom Dump/Front to Highflow 3" Metal Cat, Stainless Steel Catback to Apexi Active Tail Silencer. Have a Low Boost setting 270rwkw lifespan: 2 years at 150rwkw, 2 months at 260rwkw and a few runs on the dyno at 301rwkw - soon to be picked up today. failure: Overheated - Cooling system was overhauled, Hoses, Waterpump, Thermostat and Koyorad Aluminium Radiator comments:The price for this entry ticket has been very hefty and to be honest, I really didn't take into account what would really be involved when embarking on this journey!
  19. Red 'Performance Coilpacks' off eBay from an Aussie Distributer. I'll have a go at claiming warranty(2yr replacement). They're $265 new. They were fine untill boost was raised.
  20. Just wanted to let people know- going for 300kw + on e85. Tuner has come back telling me coilpack #5 is arcing out all over the place. Told him to drop in Splitfires STAT. We were still both impressed they managed 260kw though. So when the mod bug bites, you'll eventually need them.
  21. So it's full? I was hoping to use this opportunity to Sign up (will assist in getting CAMS?) and Dyno the Car - which would be great!
  22. Maybe try another set of coils or coilpack loom? The fact that it wasn't sparking during cranking sounds like the problem right there..
  23. Powerloss attributable to misfire aside, how much less are we talking e.g 1 cylinder @1.8 degree retarded as per the example above? Could it reach as high as say 20rwkw loss with everything appearing to be 'normal'?
