  1. And yet the biggest seller of new cars in Australia for the past number of years....... TOYOTA! I know i shouldn't swear.
  2. http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4371.asp
  3. Tolulene is good, just don't get it on your hands.
  4. I smell a rebuild in the future.
  5. Would not worry about it, other things are likely to fail first.
  6. Air con needs regas or they ripped out the air con? I have known quite a few people to pull out air con,etc to shed weight among other things. As to being a problem, i'm not sure. The only problem with mine is a small plastic cog(Operates vents) has lost a few teeth, which results in a clunking noise behind the dash(apparently easy to fix in S1 but S2 has a airbag in the way). If the air con did need to be regased, make them do it or negotiate a lower price because of it. However i would get the car checked over anyways even if it costs $200 and your time, as it could cost a lot more later on if you don't.
  7. Complying a vehicle and whether it passes is a statement as to its road worthy-ness and OEM parts(Originality). Like if bushes are worn, etc. it may not pass compliance. Next time you call an insurance company ask them if they mean Compliance Sticker as we are one of the odd states out in terms of the "Road Worthy Certs". Did you tell him you were in SA and that they are null/void for SA? Just Cars never asked me for a roadworthy cert!
  8. Sure they didn't mean an import plate/sticker?
  9. That's fine, but yea try what mad082, PM-R33 and lachlanw said to try. After all they probably have wayyyyyyyy more knowledge/experience than me. BTW search function is pretty handy as most topics have already been covered.
  10. It is also luck of the draw if you have std ECU as sometimes putting up boost will result in a loss of power, which happened with mine. Yes this was proven to me on a Dyno, and you may not end up a clean power curve especially in higher RPM's (R&R).
  11. How so grasshopper? 2k shifts up hills, lol. If I've just started driving (engine cold) 2k is where my car wants to shift and these cars have a decent amount of torque so i think more stress would be put on clutch/drivetrain than engine, or am i wrong?
  12. Ok i cannot quote any laws, scriptures, etc but if in doubt slap a sticker of a readable size in an obvious spot on your car saying "Surveillance camera fitted" you would be covering your own hide in terms of legality unless the Surveillance Devices Act,etc says otherwise. All footage would need to be kept private and confidential. There is a reason why businesses place signs out the front like "CCTV cameras operating" "Entry is conditional that you may be searched when exiting" these signs are a written statement that make people aware their privacy is being intruded upon and by not leaving the area or entering the premises they are agreeing to those terms and waiving said rights. Signage is not contestable in court unless the demands are grossly unreasonable, except crown land then if it says "Trespassers shot upon entry" you better believe it! I will not be held liable for any advise given in this reply, and always consult a legal professional if unsure.
  13. 2K if i'm not in a hurry, otherwise 3 to 6.5k. full boost 6-10 psi by 2.5k
  14. Not sure if vince can help, but lately Stagea's are what he has been importing. Give him a call during business hours if you like. Import Compliance Systems 22 Pleasant Grove Holden Hill Ph. 0400 945 645 Fax 08 8263 2300 [email protected]
  15. It should fit as it is basically the same size as one from a GTS-T, or just knock out the one you have(which is illegal). When i replaced my std exhaust, a previous owner from japan had already put a hi-flow cat in. Sometimes you don't know what you got until you look! 1, which ones should bolt on without modification, r32, 33, 34? (R33, not sure if R32 R34 would fit) 2, any ideas on cost? (Depends on who you know) 3, any other info or suggestions? (not really)
  16. You could see just how pro they are, if you start taking away the ECU from the car at night. Or option 2 which is to setup a sniper position 300-500m away, i mean hey if the Washington Sniper could do it.....
  17. The whole article and track testing sound like a bit of a WOFTAM!
  18. Hey, is $1.5k too much for 18in NISMO rims w/ tyres? I think there off a stag.
  19. +1 for checking suspension. Or your HICAS may be unplugged? My friend unplugged his for a while and from the back you could see the two rear tyres moving slightly.
  20. Is the camera going to have time/date display? generally to use video evidence in court these are needed and have to be accurate. Anyone ever notice the time/date on police video footage?
  21. Your boost readings come off the plenum via a little black hose that goes to a little black box in engine bay on drivers side near firewall.
  22. Fluids are a must and like i just found out maybe spark plugs and fuel filter, O2 sensor, etc!
  23. Gee guess i got lucky as i had a minor idle problem (R33 S2 Man) and changing the plugs fixed it! However i suppose any car coil packs that have done 90,000+ or 10+ years probably need to be changed. The CAS needing to be rebuilt is a good one, handy to know that though!
  24. So i put in the NGK PFR6G-11 was going to re-gap them to factory specs (1.05mm) but thought f*** that! Old plugs were covered in a reddish hue on the insulator?(NGK BKR5EIX-11P) Also fixed a slight idle problem i had, overall happy and changing fuel filter in next couple of days! Thanks for the input! Cheers, Shannon
