  1. lol lighten up bud......everyone's nice in the Suspension section....all the argumentative, opinionated members live in Forced Induction
  2. hmmmm....I really reckon you're going the wrong way with the clutch. It burned out because it needs to be slipped a little to launch well, when you put in the triple it wont let you slip it at all. You're going to end up needing to dump it, and with that much grip stuffs going to break. While the rules mean I need to keep single plate, I would in any case.....they are much happier to slip a little to help it launch.
  3. umm we have no change against vtec. even more so since they bring tyre warmers.
  4. castor is neither adjustable nor relevant for the rear, castor is only useful on the front wheels as it adds camber to the outside wheel when you steer.
  5. well...that wasn't my best weekend of motorsport ever. left Canberra at 2.30 to head home and pick up the stagea....got in at 5 to find it wasn't ready (who would have thought a leaky flange was a bad thing)? So I gave Pete a call and said I'd release the photos unless he shared his car with me; of course he said yes considering the alternative. So Kel and I packed up and hit the highway in the cube and cima....about 8pm while hooning along in the fast lane THUMP THUMP THUMP, yes the Cube had run over a screw and got a flat.....destroying the sidewall before I go into a safe place to change it (but thanks Luke for offering to help plug it). Anyway, pulled all the track gear out of the Cube and pulled the spare out (yes, of course it was flat too). Put the jack under the car (well of course it was too low to get the jack under at first), changed the tyre, pumped it up using the compressor, repacked the car and did the remaining 200klm at 80k/h. Arrived at Boolambyte (yes, wtf?) about 11.30 to discover the worst news of the weekend....yes, Kel and I were sharing with Ciaran, Pete and family in the party house rather than Eric/Dave at the grown ups. Its hard to believe those farts were coming from living human beings. Got to the track on Sat, changed the entry to Pete's car, sorted scrutineering, got the club stuff set up and ready to go. Pete went first in his car (good choice) then I had a quick run. Pete then had a second run and came back and said his crutch was broken and no gears, no go. Not to mention the potty words coming out of Eric's mouth while the tried a whole bunch of different CAS to get running properly. The 2wd guys looked on while polishing their cars wondering what all this 4wd shit is about. Anyway...spent some time under the dash adjusting the clutch up a bit and shocking the clutch to free it up gave 2nd,3rd,4th,5th, and even 1st and reverse if you were cruel enough to the box. Pete gave it one more run, I demonstrated my awesome driving skills by destroying his clutch while he was driving (just ask face book ). Back on the trailer, beers and boring qualifying for F1 that night and then back the next day to watch everyone else having fun. So in the end I got 40sec motorsport which I think is a new weekend low.....but despite bad luck it was a damn good event. Good on Nulon or looking at how last year's event went and making some big improvements, in particular extending it to 2 days. The guys went awesome in the end for 2nd overall, so well done everyone....there were some really quick times across both the 4wd and 2wd guys.
  6. yeah I think its awesome to see more events to choose from without the cost and time of heading across bass straight. although there are already plenty of choices I Vic so its a shame NSW RMS won't close roads for these types of events. I actually prefer multiple runs over a long hillclimb rather than different stages, also much easier logistically requiring less crews all over the countryside with jerry cans,
  7. actually, first thing to know is that it is very normal to have nasty tramlining with such big tyres on the front....they ill tend to follow the road contours wherever they go. so there will be only so much you can do about that. as for a general alignment, it is the same as any other car for road use. about 1mm toe in and 0.5 camber at the rear, and whatever you get for camber at the front, and toe in to match minimising tyre wear. caster and front camber is not adjustable standard
  8. I heard we ended up going pretty well this weekend, so well done to the team. Plenty of problems but in the end the results came up. And great to see so many people coming up to check out the event too.
  9. what's in there at the moment mate? the stock stuff is not low so you must have something aftermarket already
  10. Now we've got the which way under control you need to look at which end. You need to stiffen up the end opposite to where you have the problem. so for less oversteer you make the front bar stiffer.
  11. I just had to check, my 91 gtr uses the smaller, 45mm one. I didn't know there were 2 sizes either, and I don't know what runs the larger ones
  12. ahh yeah....its damn heavy at 1200kg or was there something else wrong? It would be a shame if the club wasn't maintaining it's asset...
  13. as for ratio, the same screenshot from the manual shows GTR is 4.111 (37/9). r32 gts4 is closer to 4.4 (I don't have the exact teeth count handy), I have swapped one into my GTR it is definitely different. I'm not sure what you have in those 3 cars, but they sure ain't normal.
  14. Detailed pics in this thread, particularly page 7 - http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/49484-tow-bars-for-stageas
  15. You're in the US, right? wasn't there some weird scam with all the GTRs that went into the country being rebadged fakes or something? In any case, no matter how many of what you have in the yard, all 32 GTRs have 2 way mechanical diffs in them. And if it helps, here's page CH-125 from the gtr workshop manual confirming it has a mechanical rear diff
  16. Well the hazards don't go through the same circuit as the dash (and indicators) so that explains why they work but not the dash. You'll need someone to find the short in the dash ignition power, might take some stuffing around but its not impossible
  17. sounds like whoever wound it back before compliance was a bit hard on it.
  18. well that sucks. hope your insurance sorts it out properly.
  19. looks like the 34 gtst part is 55154-30P01, so not the same as 32 GTR. And yes they suck to change on the car so allow for the labour cost to remove and replace the hubs....may be worth checking or doing other bushes at the same time
  20. this is c34, right? if so the s2 climate control has the same plug but different pinout to series 1.....yes I know because I bought the wrong one years ago Also, again assuming it is c34, I have a link to the Japanese service manual, if you want it just pm me your email
  21. yeah OK from that description probably the bit you have circled. I would not assume the ebay listing for 32 gtr matches 34 gtt unless you have seen confirmation on here or in a catalogue somewhere. If you want to pm me or someone else with FAST your VIN number we can check if it is the same part as 32 gtr (55154-30P00) Nissan definitely have them, ironically I bought some for my 32 gtr the other week. more expensive than your ebay listing though. BTW unless they are seriously f**ked most places would not notice some extra play in those joints....you could always take it somewhere else.
  22. need circles on your pic mate, the description is not specific enough to be sure. also, the ebay listing has 3 pics of different parts, all of which are for 32 gtr (and I wasn't aware you could get the ball joint at the end of the tie rod anywhere except genuine Nissan).
  23. oh yeah good point....keep it registered. much easier to pay rego and get a pink slip when you need to than to go through all the blue slip / re-rego stuff in a year.
