  1. actually there can be very little or even no preload depending on the spring length and ride height, that's why a lot of springs rattle and why some people need helper springs to keep it all preloaded. I still wouldn't take the top hat off without spring compressors unless I was sure there was no preload, that would be quite exciting
  2. wow you are travelling a bit at the moment Genelle! We regularly have people based in Wagga Wagga, not sure who is active on here atm.
  3. fkin A! its a difficult job on the floor plug often super tight may need to remove cat back to get at it with enough leverage and then you need to refill the damn thing from below, and fluid doesn't like travelling uphill. dead easy on a hoist with the right tools
  4. lol that sounds surprisingly likely
  5. good choice...there are a couple of jobs that are just not worth the trouble compared to a minimal cost for getting them done
  6. lol sorry no awesome council couch party this year....I've got more work to do than time before Targa High Country
  7. I can't see why the surge tank would be a problem. You may not be happy with Brad but that doesn't make his aluminium corrode. Plus I've been running one of his tanks about 12mths longer than you without any issues, there are plenty of them out there. I think you need to look somewhere else. Feel free to point and laugh if I'm wrong
  8. see what I did there? anyway...go race at Bathurst! Its great.

  11. Speed weekend is awesome....here are some old threads... http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239191-bathurst-speed-weekend-december-now-open/page-1?hl=bathurst speed weekend http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/4617-skylines-racing-at-bathurst/page-1?hl=bathurst speed weekend
  12. I think people might be getting too concerned about the change. As I understand it the clarification was that this is a motorkhana, not a drift event. So if you go out to link the whole course and do a few helis that's not OK. If you spin the wheels launching, lock the wheels turning around a cone or even sliding around a given cone or 2 that would be OK. It's still great fun, and a great event for people to do their first motorsport event because it's easy on the car
  13. Opinions are like Evos, everyone has one.... It's their event so their choice
  14. Price drop to 750, I need the shelf space for race car stuff! These are a bargain at this price....don't miss out!
  15. I understand why Nulon chose to change the rules, and why we took advantage of the changes. But personally I preferred the previous rules (ie a certain % of the cars had to carry over, I think it was 4/6). Also if they were my rules every entrant would have to financial member of the club and specific exemptions granted to run a separate marque than the club's focus. And one other thing, although it certainly worked in our favour; I would have equal points available from each round. Round 3 was almost 50% of the available points which is too high a weighting. In the end, this is meant to be a club event not a superlap competitor. None the less, good on Nulon and Chris in particular for having the vision and commitment to go through with this, I'd love to see it continue.
  16. haha I call it helpful....not sure if everyone else agrees I don't monitor all day and night so a specific message about a post helps
  17. Hi mate, actually the mods/admins have such a magic button....just hit "report" and someone should action it pretty quickly.
  18. It could well just be the solenoid, she's a big one. you need to measure the current draw with everything off (ie just the effort to hold the solenoid open)
  19. nope, coming off the back of SAU's Nulon Nats win, there is no doubt the nissans will be UNBEATABLE!!
  20. yeah that was a pretty funny call
  21. haha early start this year! I am of course putting my money on Nissan 1,2,3,4 followed by 2 Volvos!
  22. Awesome outcome.....go SAU!!
  23. out of interest, why do you want an auto GTR? in practice, converting an r33 gts4 to an rb26 is likely to be easier if you really feel the need
  24. haha yep, go powder coating, not paint. plenty of colours to choose from but much tougher and lasts longer. Chris at Craved did my covers, and a lot of other people on here I'm sure
