  1. it was probably just his automatic choke cutting in
  2. It's funny. Read through this thread, the people who put shit on these brakes have not used them. Everyone who has used them says they are good, including some really harsh use like rallies and racing. Pretty simple odds. I always run the supplied pads in mine, I got the kit from Just Jap and they had a choice of street, sport or race pads. I run the race pads on the race car, and sport in rallies or on the street. No problems at all and I still haven't had to replace rotors (I have replaced pads a few times).
  3. check the winch loadings again, the rated weight is normally dead weight not rolling. I have used those crappy supercheap ones for years, even damaged cars they pull them up fine. the really small ones are just slow and might need a break on a long job.
  4. oi! not this week he doesn't!
  5. no problems at all, Mark is an exec
  6. try it grandpa.....they are just sideways burnouts maybe you should go along on Wed night too
  7. not screwed at all....you just need to cross paths with an exec in the next 2 days. pm sent
  8. its not that simple - you need to be a current member of a CAMS club to have a CAMS license. An exec from the club signs the license to confirm you are a member. So you either need to get an SAU person to sign it, or join whatever club (if any) driftmob have and get them to sign.
  9. Hey Juz, the form is on the CAMS site here: http://www.cams.com.au/en/Forms/~/media/Files/Development/Get%20Involved/Competitors/CAMS%20Lv%202%20License%20application%20renewal5410.ashx But you will need a club exec to sign it for you before then....
  10. lol of course I'd take his life in a second. let's just not pretend he is the best driver in the world just because he is the australian on the grid. eh?
  11. Ahh OK, I missed the race too. How much was webber beaten by, and what was this week's excuse?
  12. sorry I was working on the car and missed qualifying. how much was webber beaten by, and what was this week's excuse?
  13. you feeling OK timmy? looks like a reasonable sized one How's everyone else going?
  14. have a look in the boot lock, there is a small switch to turn off the in cabin release.....
  15. Hi Blake, your thread has been approved and is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/358934-r32-gts-t-project/
  16. hmmmm...I thought it was more like 5 years ago than 10....but I had been dealing with them for that long. The car was at powerplay when I drove it. mods may have been minor...remember I am a standard guy not a 400kw e85 guy
  17. 2 different series. MRA (Motor racing Australia, nee Mini Racing Australia) are running sensible rules and AASA permitts where you can basically run what you brung. Excellent category and I would love to see it succeed and be well supported. They are running next weekend CAMS State champs are the weekend after. Classes include sports sedans, improved production (IPRA) and production cars (my class) for touring cars. Very strict, very turbo unfriendly. But also very serious and competitive.
  18. Hey Marko....I drove 001 a few years back when it was previously up for sale....wasn't standard anymore, and it went just fine. It must have been returned to stock in between. The price was very reasonable for what it was, and I should have bought it at the time. The history behind these cars was very simple, and basically the same as the full rego R35s that came into the country a few years back. Under the old import scheme, if the manufacturer did not bring in a car, a private importer could. Scuderia did. I understood it was 5 but I have been wrong before. I would also be amazed if some were sold to gibson for racing, although Alan/Jim/Fred or Terry could no doubt confirm...those cars came direct from nissan jp AFAIK. Once the manufacturer decided to import, no-one else was allowed to anymore so it was shut down (good old monopolies protecting off shore manufacturers). There were no more full rego GTRs imported until late 1993 after Nissan started selling them (which makes my 91 one of the very few in the country for that matter...)
  19. good to hear that the new state govt are withdrawing support for the taxpayer 500 at homebush. that is the worst thing that has happened in NSW motor racing since bathurst council killed Gnoo Blass. but to claim that giving the ARDC a blank cheque to create 2 substandard tracks out of one boring one is a "major boost for motorsport" is a very creative interpretation. What we need is another permanent track within reach of Sydney. simple. and get people out on it, and keep it off the streets. It took the drag guys 20 years to get WSID....I hope the circuit community have the same perseverance.
  20. not me mate, but good luck! I'm racing at Wakie that weekend are the oil problems sorted? or are you going to find out that day?
  21. agreed.....trying to push the other party to the insured party's preferred repairer is a new low from the dodgiest industry around. regardless of who the at fault driver is insured with, YOU have the right to have your car fixed to your satisfaction. do doubt they will try and bully you into accepting something less of course.
  22. the sydneykid kits were excellent. I am still running one in my race car 5 years later, and have a kit in the stagea too. It was nice to have someone on the internet who actually had been there and done that, and was willing to share the knowledge. pm sent
  23. Noel that is f**king classic. I reckon they've done that more than once too.... Handbrake....that is one absolutely huge single axle trailer....will be very interested to see how it goes with 2t because I would be thinking dual axle at that size. re pantecs....I have seen someone using home extended ramps and 1t loader to lift a saloon car (1200kg + driver....) and it worked fine. The other option I have seen is long ramps so the cars sit up on an angle in the trailer.
  24. true, and also it's not uphill when the car is on it's roof. but heater core is a likely choice....coolant can look just like water when you run water for coolant too
