  1. perfect commuter car I spotted Charlie's red stealth ute this morning
  2. yeah it is 100% on the cards ben...just sorting out a date. the conditions are still bullshit (ie we take the financial risk if it's not full, they make all the profit if it is full or overfull)
  3. and I thought we were traveling Ninja style and would never get spotted in that! jeebus! I thought they only existed in GT5
  4. oh ouch! you should never let your children leave unless you are ready for anything to happen to them. I still don't know what happened to zerasa (ne huge1), it came to 1 track day then disappeared
  5. I would put ksport on the front and leave the standard rears (they are already pretty good). I run the ksport style brakes on my race car when I am allowed to, and the stagea and z road cars all the time. they are excellent for the price and are as good as brand brakes 3x the price.
  6. didn't we do that last week? here are the top 10 (ignore the evo, it was on cheater slicks and ran a 20b rotary) 1 130 Michael Hiscoe RENEW EVO 9 O S6 1:04.9860* 2 72 Trent Kennedy SAU TK-80 C S4 1:06.4820 0:01.4960 3 68 Duncan Handley SAU R32 GTR F S6 1:06.9740 0:01.9880 4 37 Ben Kirker SAU S15 C S6 1:07.4400 0:02.4540 5 32 Dennis Resi SAU R32GTR F S5 1:08.2120 0:03.2260 6 79 Malcolm Schmid RENEW FD RX7 C S6 1:09.2200 0:04.2340 7 84 David Parkes RENEW Ser2 RX7 O S4 1:09.4000 0:04.4140 8 39 Peter Carruthers SAU R32 GTR F S6 1:10.1080 0:05.1220 9 21 Dean Buczynski SAU R32 GTR F S5 1:10.1740 0:05.1880 10 90 Richard Huer SAU 300ZX F S5 1:10.1770 0:05.1910
  7. yeah you can buy flaring tools, they are cheap. but you need to flush the lines well after cutting the old end off. everything uses a standard flare, it is 30o or something.
  8. hmm well if it's not rough, and it's not timing... does it actually make boost? maybe the turbo is missing a compressor wheel? if not that....breathing problem - is there a major restriction in the inlet or exhaust? blocked cat or maybe pete helped you with the motor and left a rag in the intake?
  9. no need to double post! it's running smooth (no miss), but very sluggish? my guess is you are going to find it is a timing issue. Are you 100% sure the CAS is correct in the cam (ie keyway not broken?) Are you 100% sure your timing light is reading correctly? Run spark plug lead from the coil pack to the plug with a timing light attached. I know you said you checked the timing belt etc but maybe get someone to double check incase you are missing something obvious are the zorst temps very hot?
  10. really? I found the 2 peice rotors and ally calipers a fair bit lighter than factory gtr Certainly much lighter than the stagea or 350z setup with their large cast calipers.
  11. I have not looked at the standard system for a while....but I think there is a one way valve in the system from factory.
  12. looks like excellent fun...where was the track, who ran the event....and when is the next one on?
  13. stock turbos would be max out under 250awkw. and 1.1bar is not safe on standard turbos, that could cost you a motor. I would stick to 0.8bar/12psi personally.
  14. yep that's how we did the nugget's doors. they dont stay in place when open any more but they are fine when closed absolutely shit loads lighter too
  15. see moneybags? If you just bought a $100 bike helmet like me you would have been fine
  16. but still....what did actually happen to the returned cars....perhaps they turned up as prototype/MA cars too. They would have been very hard to sell in 1994 with 1991 build plates
  17. great thread....and good to meet you at Hills the other day Bob. Skaifey's old car is also in the NSW club...it won Best r32 at the 21st anniversary cruise. And I can assure you gibson played with it....it goes very well for a "standard" gtr, about the same power as my n1 spec production race car. Also I saw both of Kerry Packer's GTRs at Hills Motorsport in the last 12 months. Both also "touched" by gibson with some mods to the bottom end, cams and sump.
  18. lol wrong springwood! oops.
  19. ahhh....why have I not posted here yet....kidding myself? I have done the jockey wheel down and drive off. I have also done the "not lock the towball in" and it popped off the car. luckily only moving about 2klm/h and just scraped the ute. And I lost a wheel one day due to old, overtightened wheel nuts, and had no spare...they handle great on 3 wheels. The wheel is still in a paddock on the hume somewhere I guess. Also, after getting done by the cops for driving an unregistered and uninsured race car on the road (hey I was on the way to get it registered in my opinion.....)....I parked the race car where I was pulled up and went and got the trailer. It happened to be parked on a hill and raining hard. When I started to drive up the ramp onto the trailer the wheels started to spin...so I did the only sensible thing and gassed it.....leading directly to the car falling sideways off the ramps. BTW baron I feel your pain about old utes....we towed the race car to Mt Buller behind the navara...2.4l and 350,000klm of carby power. About 30klm/h top speed up the hill in a pea soup fog....but I knew if I stopped I would not have the torque to start again.... But the good ones........sorry for the absence of pics..... We were loading the race car onto a trailer. for whatever reason no car was hooked to the trailer so we put 2 chasis stands under the rear so it would not tip. The same mighty ute was parked 90o across in front of it, and Mark kindy volunteered to guide the car onto the trailer by standing at the front of it. You guessed it....i started up the ramps, fronts about to hit the bed of the trailer and rears on the ramps too.....when the stands shifted and fell over. The trailer rear dropped, shot forward, missed Mark by about a foot and slammed into the door of the ute. The dent and scratch are still in the door about 10 years later. But my best one....the usual night coming home from a race meet at Wakefield. The motor had died (as usual). It was raining. I was tired. Kel jumped out and was helpfully guiding the trailer through our front gate (very tight, about 10cm per side clearance, and over a busy road). However....she happened to be out of site and I couldn't really hear her.....screaming "STOP!!!". Yes, I misjudged, hit 2m high the brick wall that held the gate up, and knocked the whole f**king thing down. With about 4tonne of momentum your don't need much speed..... We spent the last 6 months before demolition with only 1 front gate. OK that is enough from me....I'm sure there are things I've forgotten over the years Other people who should be owning up in this thread: * Dan who borrowed Neil's trailer and bent it *John from UAS who borrowed my trailer and bent it. No offer to fix it. * Pete who was using the same trailer....and drifted it on the hume highway at about 2am....causing the drift car to come loose and fall off. About 8 hours before writing off said drift car the next day at the first drift nationals...
  20. we are hoping to make Baw Baw.....Buller was good fun and not too serious. but it's not really like dutton, you will need full cage
  21. ummm....I just got the entry list for Eastern Creek. 2x GTRs...Handley and Eedens......where is Carruthers? I heard yours might be running..... BTW first time there have been 2 GTRs on the entry list since Phil Coles won the champs in 05
  22. Scooby...what was the outcome for you? I had my car on the dyno today, very standard motor with a nissan timing belt and CAS. no timing cover because I was setting the CAM gears. This is the trace of RPM from datalogit: Have a good look at the trace in yellow. it goes from 7700 to 8000 revs instantly and incorrectly. Now this is not a big deal, it is only moving between 2 cells in the tune so I just worked on an even, broad range in those cells. I watched the timing belt during the dyno run. There were 3 distinct times that the belt was visibly vibrating, and 2 times in between in ran smoothly. Here is a zoomed out version of the same run from 3000 to 8000 so....this seems very reasonable to me. Just because not all tuners pick up on...doesn't mean there is no problem. And does it prevent you tuning? Probably not in most cases....it just introduces innaccuracy.
  23. yeah they were talking about axing the taxpayer 500 and putting the money to EC instead. good and bad to me. Eastern Creek is run by the Arsehole rectum dickheads club and they are only interested in $$$$ not club motorsport. The ARDC president was perfectly clear about that at the CAMS club forum we went to. We really need another track in NSW, I'm surprised no-one can make the numbers stand up. We paid $8,400 to hire wakefield last week. $8,400 * say 350 days a year is about $3M a year income. Eastern Creek is about $20k to hire for the day, so $7M a year. Don't tell me no-one can make a profit on a track with those numbers.....
  24. hmm I saw the Stevens emo on a hoist with no engine today. if they dont get that car back together who will be in charge of cutting corners and bringing crap back onto the course?
