  1. Bit of a surprising way for it to fail, glad that are sorting the problem anyway
  2. Yeah that does suck considering how hard these computers might be to find, wherever you are. 80s Electronics were mind blowing to the 80s, but not so much these days. Might be worth opening the computer and looking for any burned tracks or components or other obvious issues rather than replacing it straight up
  3. Probably worth starting with the 32 GTR workshop manual (you didn't say which car and don't have it on your profile). https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/gtr_32_service_manual_indexed.pdf section c3 stars page CH-57
  4. Just thought I would bump this 20 year old thread because the Skid Factory have just posted up a video summarising a lot of the content, format might be more familiar for newer members
  5. Bluebirds must get driven much more frequently than Skylines 🤣
  6. Can you put a large enough one way valve in the pump supply to stop drain back without impacting full noise flow?
  7. Do you have an option to overfill the oil enough to get to the level of the pump (without going above the windage tray), or remake the bracket to lower the pump?
  8. Thanks for checking. While it is a good data point it only means they are not identical, they still might be interchangeable. eg, the difference might be the colour or depth of the carpet only.
  9. What about the head bolts, are they blind holes or do they go through to the crank case?
  10. Can you post some pics of what you have done
  11. Do you have a location? Just Jap in sydney might be able to help
  12. Yes, you just need a 12v power supply with sufficient amps to run it, like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185812556302?hash=item2b434a9a0e:g:1coAAOSw~NdlCAmN&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0HP9pDoqxSbS5U0XbxfqnnEDW86Unoe8W57%2Fn6wo0sVVq98HxwacZ8YN3jOeDGFijYLAMSSfkpNhwzccEERu04JmHY80ClYgk7XERhrve1nNm4sQ1uguxVzyt0Eci4FzrMU1cpF0vKoK50f0YD3eXYC1TGfxhWwRQK9b1HoJkTz8P70d1Tpr771WT7EewgydMx1iNxN1lNfpJ11DDV1gxtr1j10HLHUUAm6HKrLDNk3bC9vgcb6a6f0XbH1xNfrkKKfWhDXcEZkRoOHoUfW8oY8%3D|tkp%3ABlBMUJq3gvP6Yg
  13. original locations, because then you don't need to worry about any sizing differences
  14. Looks like a great platform to work on
  15. I think your new "gtst" left the factory as a gts....maybe check the VIN
  16. FYI it is a brake system warning light not handbrake warning light....happily handbrake is just the most common reason we all see it
  17. not ideal...so engine shop to find the problem? did they supply the block or did you give it to them? at least nothing ran and broke.
  18. I can't answer the first question, although I assume paint shops can get hold of that formula. I can confirm that it was standard for Nissan during that period to use a different/duller colour on the non exterior panels
  19. haha I did actually mean Skyline not Infiniti....but now I've looked I can't find any for sale so you would need to wait for an import.
  20. clearly the answer to that question is V37 hybrid. Right price, good on fuel, goes good
  21. 100% you should get the machine shop to grub screw the crank, even just that light linish you did will create crap in the oil galleries; the cost of another rebuild is no way worth the risk
  22. Good persistence, and thank goodness there are (better) aftermarket options to keep these cars working today
  23. You need to ask the year, not the month, with amayama these days
