  1. sorry Chris, haven't got back to you. I am going to book accomodation and entry after next weekend's round race meet. I'm going to leave and do a few hours thursday night to keen friday's drive nice and short....lots of fuel stops when towing with a stagea then back on Monday.
  2. off to morgan park, eh? will be a road trip not to be missed.
  3. to answer the specific question - yes that is right there is 1 copper washer between each surface. so if it is the bolt meant for that location, it is too long
  4. what is the deal with the VH? condition known? what is included (loom? computer? gearbox?)
  5. Received this email from the organisers of the Festival of Sporting Cars which has run an easter event for the last couple of years: Overwhelmed as I am by the expressions of thanks and support, it has been suggested (but only by one participant to date) that FoSC owes a full explanation of the reasons for our withdrawal from Bathurst. To put it as simply as possible: I am peeved that I am not at liberty to provide the full explanation I would wish you all to have, because so much of the problem is shrouded in the Bathurst Regional Council’s assertions that their communications with us are ‘without prejudice.’ Our legal advice is that this is nonsense, because there are no legal proceedings on foot, and nothing to be ‘prejudiced’ – but we will treat their letters as confidential, at least for the moment. This much I can say: it is plain that, for whatever reason, Bathurst Regional Council does not want our event. It has no problem denying Bathurst businesses the $5.5-million we bring to the city every Easter. It has no problem devaluing the multi-million dollars investment made by government in the circuit, and is perfectly prepared to see it stand idle. The BRC resembles nothing so much as a dog in the manger. You will recall that we negotiated a contract in 2008 that provided for Mercedes Benz to share the hire period and thus underwrite the cost of our inaugural event, to the benefit of all concerned. The then BRC loved it. In 2009, the event was varied by mutual consent – there was no new model launch, and FoSC struggled to pay the astronomical hire fee. This year, the event was another variation – still no third party to share the cost, but the regularity carnival certainly helped us out.   The fatal problem has been that BRC, which has had a remarkable change of heart, still blockheadedly insisted that our contract for 2011 requires us to stage a Mercedes Benz product launch! This, despite the variations of the past two years... words fail me! Have they been asleep for two years? At the heart of the problem is a very vague contract. Although we had been able to function under its terms for three years, there have arisen conflicting interpretations – so we asked BRC, months and months ago, to clarify the ambiguities and uncertainties before we nailed down the 2011 event. They simply won’t do it. The consequence of their intransigence is that we were denied any clear statement as to whether the events we wanted to program for 2011 would be permitted by the controller of the circuit. How could we possibly proceed on that basis? The threat was that we would plan and program certain aspects of the event, accept entries (and money) accordingly, and then be told – literally at the last moment – that BRC considers such elements of the 2011 to be contrary to the agreement. The consequence of that would be financial ruin for FoSC and an outraged paddock full of entrants. To keep faith with you, the participants in FoSC events and the reason for its existence, we had no choice but to accept the legal advice we have been given: that BRC is obviously hell-bent on driving us away from Mt Panorama, and that to become trapped in a will-they-or-won’t-they dragging-out of the contractual negotiations was only going to leave us without any venue or prospect of staging our event next Easter. And we weren’t going to let that happen! We hope to see you all at Eastern Creek. My Best Regards Charles Jardine FoSC Event Director
  6. I have had heaps of work done at powerplay imports over the years, and Ali is one of the most careful and thorough mechanics I know. Just get a fixed price quote up front to avoid potential surprises.

    Mccarthur Service

I'm willing to bet either of them are perfectly capable of delivering the $1000 oil change on the gold plated hoist Only their best techs will work on the GTRs, they have learned a lot about performance cars from working on pulsars over the years.
  8. which is why you didn't get to claim the one you won I still haven't taken my navara tshirt or hat off, and I am typing one handed because my navara beer cooler is in the other. My navara will be so proud of me when it gets home from Bathurst tomorrow
  9. damn straight....in fact we got to watch 2 bathursts!
  10. yes, but it is only a production car.....even so it does pull some gs on good tyres. I agree the factory design is among the best out there.....but if you need to do laps on 1/1th of a tank to save 5kg, then you will always need a surge tank.
  11. actually it's the opposite...without the vacuum feed the BOVs will always be open so it will never boost. unless OP means...what if I do all that because I am running some other BOV system...in which case just drop off the vacuum line so there is no leak and off you go!
  12. agreed. no surge tank in my race car either. road use....if you really are worried....keep it over 1/4 tank. for those asking for the lid to be sold seperate....I bet it is worth at least half of the cost of the full kit. billet/cnc is never cheap
  13. yeah there is at least 1 there. I'm sure another will be very welcome and popular
  14. mine turned out to be a short in the abs of all things. sorted apparently
  15. jeebus don't run it like that! I fried by boost controller, ecu injector drivers and stereo at only 15-16v in the course of 2 weeks
  16. lol I think I can see the problem in those pics....
  17. GT are lucky to get 2x 30min races with cockrane handing out the session times. there are no holdens nor fords in that field so they are lucky to be there at all. Tony's perfect Bathurst event: Supertaxi 1000 konica supertaxi race muscle car support race (group A and C cars stay home, minis not welcome in case they win) saloon car support race aussie race cars (aurion not welcome) commodore cup if a 5th category is required. what a pity for him that Fraud and Holdem aren't willing to put up millions a year for his circus any more.
  18. btw mechanic checked all my fuses (specifically told them about missing fuse theory), and did not solve my problem. got a specialist auto sparky looking at it
  19. strange hugh. I don't have any fouling issues, and run copper plugs with my FF plenum. It is probably not directly related
  20. c'mon Roy, 90% of big hp cars don't see the race track at all, 9% see it on the internet only. I guess 1% may visit a track once. 3 big hp GTRs in Aus regularly do track work. so there is a market for this. And you can be sure that billet fitting for the tank lid that seals properly costs a mint to produce. Looks excellent and much safer than the dodgy fittings most people use
  21. interesting question....my stagea is currently charging at 15.5v, no change after replacing the alternator. there is a recent thread elsewhere here where 2 different people have overcharging issues, resolved by adding a missing fuse (or replacing a blown one). I don't understand but it was the same symptom and same fix for both
  22. agreed....but since murphy's lap was in qualifying not racing it doesn't count as a lap record either. nothing can ever take away from murphy's lap, it was done years of development ago and stood for ages. amazing.
  23. point proven right there really.
  24. yeah you suck. but perhaps you weren't looking stock to stock. anything can be done with mods, after all a filthy emo won superlap
  25. the GTR is definately quicker stock for stock...we race a few in NSW production cars and the EMO 5 is slower, by a second or 2. Emo 9/10 is a different matter. That is all on standard size wheels and standard boost though.
